I only feel compelled to defend Pardew firstly because I know him and secondly because the criticism on here, unlike at SJP, never seems balanced to me. Not really, he's just naming the best 3 and they were. Bellamy prolonged Shearer by 3 seasons. Ferdinand and him never really formed one, they were both just brilliant goalscorers who played very well in the same side for a season. Sour grapes as usual. Bellamy was a flop when he signed for us. You could also say playing alongside Shearer, and others, was a stepping stone to him becoming a better player.
