  1. Miles off the pace for Europe and skint though. And that tit Aulas has already admitted that they made a mistake during the summer when they were holding out for more money.
  2. And Diego Simone is criminally "underpaid".
  3. I thought Lippi had retired. Or out somewhere in the sea.

So, you're arguing that based on ifs and buts? OK.

Well forgive me for having a bit of a soft spot for one of our players It's an awesome feeling after supporting the likes of Damien fucking Duff and Albert Luque and Brian Pinas (?) and Fumaca. Let me have my sentimentality Fuck your soft spot. I form my opinions objectively. Yes, I'm sure you're very objective with all your opinions on a football forum Dinho Lad for best poster ever on the internet, apparently. Yeah, because that's what I was really implying. You've just admitted that you defend players from criticism because they happen to be one of your favourite players, pretty much. Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyy...!! Not at all, actually. I really don't think you have studied my entire archive of posts since I've been on this forum to ... ahem, objectively make that case. And no, that's not what I said. I just agreed that I have a soft spot for HBA because, erm, he's our best attacking player, one of the best we've ever had. No way have I ever stopped or blocked any criticism of certain parts of his game that need improvement. I just think it's a massive failure of imagination from management that he's not involved in the starting 11, and he's been made a scapegoat by some who are perfectly okay with others getting away with the same shit he does and remaining in the first team. Pointing our hypocrisy is probably more of a case for objectivity, I would argue. Methinks you need to apply a bit more of that objectivity balm. Anyways, can we take this to the HBA thread? One of the best we've ever had? Still not on a patch, in terms of performances, with the likes of Robert, Solano, etc. Let alone Shearer, Ferdinand, etc. And who are those players that are constantly getting away with it on here? As far as I can see, everyone gets his fair share praise/criticism when warranted, except for the odd few that are just fickle supporters. And fuck off with terms such as "scapegoat". No one here is making him a "scapegoat". Another fine example of emotional overreaction.

  8. I wasn't repeating it as new news. Some people may not have been aware that we had been in for Lukaku in the Summer. Well done you for your reply though. Badly worded, then. And that's something coming from me.

DJ_NUFC does whine like a proper bitch, tbh. Far too emotional, he is. (Especially when sticking up for HBA.)

Sigh. I think a player of HBA talents should producing a lot more. The guy wasn't far away from the likes of Gareth Bale couple years ago. Now... he's miles away. Gareth Bale tended to play. I think that helped him tbh. If you think that's the only difference, then you're either naive or your love for HBA is clouding your judgement. At the moment he's wasted potential with the odd bit of brilliance. Not good enough for one of the most talented players to come out of France.

He's got a better goal/assist rate than the bloke keeping him out of the position I prefer to see him in, on our right side of attack. I do think HBA should still be playing, though. That's no what I'm arguing about.

But there probably is something wrong with the amount of times he gets himself into good positions only to end-up doing stuff not so productive. how much of this is exaggerated due to the close attention people pay to him though? i wouldn't say it happens anymore than any other player we have. Sissoko is badly guilty of it imo No, this is just another one, of the many, excuses some of you like you come up with. really? It's not excusing him, but what do you expect a 100% return rate on every possible attacking position? Cabaye is guilty of it, as is Sissoko, as is practically everyone else. Yeah, of course. A lot of people here know by now that I'm not Cabaye's biggest fan and I think he's quite overrated. Sissoko should not be playing out wide.

But there probably is something wrong with the amount of times he gets himself into good positions only to end-up doing stuff not so productive. He creates those positions himself though, any other player would usually swing a floated ball into the box or play the ball back to another midfielder/attacker outside of the area. I do get frustrated with him at times like, seeing him take a touch too many, but the alternatives are equally as futile if not more so. There's room for improvement obviously, both from himself and from Pardew. Alternatives are equally futile? Do you mean the alternatives on the pitch, or the ones he's playing instead of? If the later, then I agree. But this doesn't mean I shouldn't highlight his tendency to overplay and messing up opportunities.

But there probably is something wrong with the amount of times he gets himself into good positions only to end-up doing stuff not so productive. His very high return rate indicates that he makes great use of the positions he gets into quite a lot. He makes a lot of dangerous situations because of his talents. Much more so than he ruins attacks with selfishness. Very high return? Yeah, if you're using the games v goals/assists arguments. But then, even "very high return" is arguable.
