CHRIS HOUGHTON IS A GENUIS!

Hope he'll be alright. This is the last thing we needed today, though. (if you allow me to talk about football for a second. )

What for? Juventus legend Alessandro Del Piero is preparing to take legal action against the social networking site Facebook after a fake profile with his name and image appeared on it. The profile had links to a Nazi propaganda group and it contains pictures of Del Piero, which have led the striker to consider taking action for defamation. ANSA claims the player's agent and brother, Stefano, has announced that Del Piero will be contacting his lawyers to protect his image. The player's entourage have made it clear that the Nazi-linked profile has nothing to do with him, and they have stated that Del Piero has never had a profile on the Facebook site. It is believed that the Italian is furious and that he will do everything to protect his exemplary image from being tarnished. Meanwhile, Juventus will be happy this morning after progressing to the Coppa Italia semi-final. The Bianconeri beat Napoli at the Olimpico on penalties after a drab stalemate. Claudio Ranieri's unit will now face Lazio in the semi-finals and either Inter or Sampdoria in the final if they get there. http://www.goal.com/en/news/593/juventus/2009/02/05/1094671/alessandro-del-piero-to-take-legal-action-against-facebook--repo

N'Zogbia went for the same reason as Given....because we're crap and unambitious. N'zogbia made a big fuss out of it and refused to play. Given made it clear he wanted to leave (well before the deadline) and just get on with his football. It wouldn't prove anything. It would only indicates that Shay Given was by far the more popular player here. Nothing we disagree about.

No he's not. if you say so.

Doubt it - brilliant keeper, amongst the best in the world so why would city bench him? he's very replaceable. the richest club in the world will think nothing of benching a £6 million player if a better alternative comes along (and yes, there are better keepers around if you have the money). In terms of keeper they have a class one - I cant see them targetting the Buffons, Cassilas etc Its the outfield players that they will target to make themselves a top team they got robinho and were scarily close to getting kaka so i dont doubt that they'll go for a bigger name than given sooner rather than later. Err...I doubt they were planning to buy Kaka to replace Robinho. what? you're saying city will still look to replace given with someone better based on them going for Kaka?

If a player wants to leave, fair enough, but he was on a contract and he can't expect to just walk off without any hassle. 'Ashley is crap and the fans are great' is just an easy way of getting sympathy and easing any sense of guilt. There's no need for it. No, he's just genuinley frustrated as much as any of us. Simple really.

not sure if this was mentioned before, but we tried to gert faubert. (good player on the right of midfield) "I got a phone call from a Real Madrid recruiter. I wasn't very polite to him. I thought I was being made fun of, that it was a joke()," he explained, "I had just found out that contacts with Lyon and Newcastle had fallen through. I wasn't feeling good."
-
Not exactly happy about this.........but I guess he'd be a good player for us in the championship next season, no?
-
Too late for all of this.
