We have amazing strength down the left now. Enrique linking up just as well with Ben Arfa as he does with Jonas, and Jonas himself will hopefully come on once Nolan tires and Ben Arfa moves inside. -
The 85th minute goal against Portsmouth that kept us in division 1 early 90s. Headed down by Mickey Quinn to Ned Kelly who smashed it into the Gallowgate end, loudest roar I ever heard.

I know this one -
Not necessarily. I would like a permanent signing or a loan with an option to buy. But loan with compulsory purchase isn't how these deals usually work, it seems like too much in favour of the selling club. He could play terribly, ruin the team spirit or whatever, and we would still have to buy him. With the loan with the option to buy, both parties share the risk. If he does well, he'll cost a buyer more at the end, if he does shit we don't have to buy him but we've taken him off their wage bill for a season. Out of not signing him at all and signing him in that way, I'm not sure which I'd prefer. But we should definitely try to avoid it if possible. I don't see how the terms of their loan deal (ie forced purchase in the summer) could be seen as less beneficial than buying him outright now. Either way, he would be our player regardless of how he plays, the way they are offering it we are basically signing him permanently now, but not having to pay the majority until next summer.

Harper Colo Williamson Campbell Jose Routledge Guthrie Barton Jonas Vuckic Carroll -
Play Coloccini at right back? Rather have Williamson in the middle. Once Campbell has fitness then that may be the way to. Coloccini will offer more defensive qualities at RB and it also keeps him away from Enrique. The two of them seem incapable of just clearing the ball if they have the slightest oppurtunity to fanny around with it.

The second goal was very disappointing but to be honest I had feared for much worse. As long as they keep their heads and stick to the game plan then we could get out of here without the demoralising thumping. Mind, I am struggling to see what Nolan's role is. He is offering absolutely nothing in the way of support to Carroll and yet not doing much defensive work either. I'd be tempted to drop him into Barton's role (before he gets himeself a red) and bring on Vuckic or even Ranger to support Carroll and give the likes of Jonas, Routledge and Enrique an option when they have the ball. At the moment they are looking up, seeing no option and invaribly losing it.

The agents arent anything to do with those we 'did a favour to' by bringing Gonzales in are they?

Always hard to come back from an injury, but even more so when you are solely used to playing as part of a 4-4-3!

Here's the link http://www.independent.ie/sport/soccer/premier-league/going-given-tells-mancini-play-me-on-saturday-or-im-off-2290741.html The Irish press seem to be playing up the fact that Hart being English is meaning he is likely to get the nod, seeing as England need a new keeper. Not at all sure what that would do to influence Mancini's decision mind you, but the Irish do love to feel discriminated against one way or another.

But then, for some reason, England have a shocking record of U21 players moving onto the senior squad. This is the top ten leading appearances for the U21s: Milner Huddlestone Carson S Taylor Carragher Barry Prutton Muamba Pennant Defoe Reo-Coker

Worst fears confirmed then.
