  1. Wow. Massive gamble right there. Probably done that to try and stop their Portuguese lads hightailing it to Inter Milan.

    Arda Turan?

Shut the fuck up Mark Bright. Keep the ball away from him.

    Arda Turan?

For the goal? It was Nihat.
  4. Almost? Yes, as in it's a rarity to see a pass backwards for player who is offside. Simply because of the way the game flows. But when it happens it is correct. No, that's a theoretical impossibility.. Edit: well, no it's not I guess, but only when the player was offside and has to run backwards to pick up the backward pass. Not sure where the law stands on that exactly, but I don't think I've ever seen it happen either.. Is that what you are referring to? That's what I was talking about when I said almost always, in that it's not impossible but very unlikely for the ball to go backwards and yet still be offside.
  5. There's nothing in the rules about the ball going backwards. The goalscorer just has to be behind the ball which almost always means that it going backwards is onside.

    Arda Turan?

The weather might be a Godsend if we really intend to buy Turan. One less chance for him to impress.

    Arda Turan?

Nearly won some money on him then.
  8. If this carries on, the pitch will be unplayable soon. Be interesting to see what happens. It's still unlikely but has a game ever been abandoned during a tournament?
  9. "The republic of Czechoslovakia", fucking hell Pleat is dense.
  10. Is it going to be like this every time any team signs any player?
  11. Free kick was his first, then the drive through the defender's legs and off the post then the tap in from lee's cross.
  12. that's different though, an attacker can not be involved, but a defender can be covering if he's right at the opposite touchline. Edit: yes, as Aphro put it. Thinking about this rule: it makes no fucking sense. "A player leaving the field of play because of his momentum during play, is not deemed to have left without the Referee's permission and can therefore re-enter without the Referee's permission. In this instance, although the defender is off the field of play, (and until he returns to the field of play), he should be deemed to be standing on the goal-line (in the field of play) when considering offside. The Assistant Referee should stand in line with the last opponent on the field of play (which in this case will probably be the defending goalkeeper). When deciding offside in this scenario, the two last defending opponents are the defender who has travelled off the field of play, and the defending player who is nearest to the goal line on the field of play (which in all probability will be the goalkeeper)." Why? That's insane. Makes sense to me. Any other interpretation allows a defender(s) to stand on the line then just simply step back into the goal to make the attackers offside.
  13. BBC reckon he will start for Sweden tomorrow against Greece.
  14. I'm gutted we're not there but... we're not, so I really don't give a shit about Capello and/or England at the moment.
  15. Wonder how much that Afellay lad who hit the bar would cost. When he played against Spurs for PSV, he absolutely took the piss.
  16. Cracking game. Still no goals scored in reply in six games though, bit disappointing.
  17. Very well put imo. I loved watching him when he was just enjoying it like he was in the park with his mates. £250k a week ffs.
  18. Hope Italy get one back quickly to make things interesting. Distinctly second best all over the park so far.
  19. What a fantastic goal, absolutely brilliant.
  20. Was eating me tea, what did he do wrong? Well I've not seen the game but it was 0-0 so I just worked it out. Get your head out of the sand Dave ffs.
  21. He was woeful when he came on.
  22. Poor Op Nut, he's lost £50 and he can't get home.
