  1. No, but he was bloody brilliant at saving them. Saved in an FA Cup final and the only keeper to save from Le Tissier, probably what you're thinking of. Crossley has scored a goal though, a couple of months ago up from a corner.
  2. Direct from a goal kick actually says wiki. Well remembered.
  3. The Government forced the issue, yes, but the LARGER Clubs went for it ,without serious objection because they realised the potential of a 'captive audience' I'm talking of a terraced section or area. This wouldn't give an extra 30,000 bodies, but standing would be cheaper, surely. This could help the less financially able to go and if it was on a turnstile basis ,all the better. And ,yes, you would have to twist Freds' arm up his back. How? Well you could start with a petition and maybe non-attendance one matchday before the ticket renewals start arriving. It MIGHT make the Club think twice All I'm arguing for Vic is to make the playing field a bit more level for US, the supporters. You can't disapprove of that ,can you? I know it's like a mole trying to move a mountain ,but ,you have to start somewhere!! I totally reject the idea clubs went for seating. A season ticket is just as valid for terraces as seat And again, what can clubs do to get terraces back when they are ILLEGAL? If you think the clubs will ever listen to fans, go right ahead, I'll put my efforts into things I can change in my life Terraces are not illegal !!! The whole football league would have all seater stadia if that were true. You can't make something illegal for one small section of the whole of Britain. It is purely a recommendation from the Taylor Report http://www.footballnetwork.org/dev/communityfootball/violence_taylor_report.asp Which was taken at face value by the Government and the FA.It's only the top echelons of Football forced into providing all seating - clubs don't get promoted unless they comply but it is not ILLEGAL. You can't change anything in life if you don't even try.If everyone thought like that we'd all still live like serfs. If you don't want to play - no problem,it is much easier to sit on the side lines and critisize. If nothing changes YOU are right, but if things do change YOU will still get the benefits Great painless philosophy for life (I hope you realise how much time I spent looking these big words up) ok its not illegal but if you don't have all seater stadiums you are legally not allowed to admit spectators Only in the Premiership, though I'm aware you're discussing the implications for NUFC.
  4. When Foster dropped the ball at Mido's feet -
  5. Glad that Pearce will be staying, then? No. Just happy we're not getting relegated anymore. Not sure there was really much danger of that, mate. 6 points clear with far better goal difference AND a game in hand. 6 points from 9 games is a hefty ask from the bottom three, never mind much more than that. Charlton were only 6 points behind us before today, our game in hand is Arsenal away, and we just haven't looked like scoring or getting anything, wheras they're full of goals from Ambrose and Bent. ALl it would take is for them to beat us when they come up here and they only need a win and a draw to overhaul us. But as it stands we've overtaken Sheffield United and Wigan, and got a bit of momentum and belief back...I'm very relieved. I couldn't see where we were going to get a point from but we've got lucky with playing Boro's before their monday replay and got a bit of break from a set-piece...suddenly we're safe. Jeez i'm fickle My mate reckons Citeh are the worst team he's seen at the Riverside this season, thought you were abysmal. Still says you deserved to beat them though. Wouldn't that mean that Boro were the worst team he's seen this season? Ye knaa worra mean man. He says if Southgate hadn't pissed about and played a severely understrength team, they'd have walloped you - and he thinks Boro are shite tbf.
  6. Coincidence for Spurs to be playing Sevilla when their keeper scored in midweek, bit closer than Robinson was like! http://www.goalkeepersaredifferent.com/keeper/goalscoring.htm Pat Jennings did it, but I'm pretty sure his was out of his hands. For Robinson to score from a free kick is nothing short of astonishing, can't wait to see it.

  8. Here's kingdawson coming along (bloody fast from the match again, he must live next door) to compare Paul Robinson's goal ratio favourably to Martins'.
  9. Paul Robinson Bloody brilliant result for Pools, none of the others at the top won either. Fucking love it.
  10. Hartlepool 2-0 down, looks like the unbeaten run is over. Fuck. Mackems winning as well, cunts.
  11. No thank you. Why would anyone want us to write off another season? Don't get it.
  12. maybe people will think twice before posting s****, I can't stand wading through ill thought out posts with zero logic and forethought, just emotional reactionary tartism Agreed, What a ridiculous thread. There is nothing the players could possibly do to please the people on this forum. They could win a tie in which we twice have a three goal lead? Just a thought.
  13. better than being a fucking brainless sheep posting the same mindless shite with zero thought put into it I take it you agree with these useless sentiments then, don't expect a reply, don't want you to exercise yourself The only thought you ever put into a reply is "how can I disagree with this?".
  14. First Boro, now Spurs? If Sevilla do them, I'm definitely going and buying a Sevilla shirt.
  15. Mary, Mary tbh. Very boring.
  16. You fully deserved your win, good luck for the rest of the tournament mate.
  17. Pull the punches is exactly what he does. Blame the players ahead of his mate as usual, prick.

    Butt

Incredibly stupid, not least because there was still a good 90 seconds left on the clock, those went up in smoke. Can understand the frustration but should have known better than that.

    Bramble

Haddaway and shite man, we've kept 1 clean sheet in the last 20. Just cos they say our defence is shit doesn't automatically mean it's not. It is.
  20. Wullie

    Bramble

He should be shot for coming out with that. I could have told the stupid twat that in July, so could everyone else (apart from NE5, he wanted some more left wingers, at least 7 would do.)
  21. The clump of five Newcastle players stood together constantly on the edge of the penalty area in the last ten minutes was embarrassing, Jim Beglin rightly said you could have thrown a towel over them. We needed to spread the play and we just got narrower and narrower as the game went on, meanwhile the main player in our squad who plays with his boots on the touchline was sat on the bench. Tactical genius. Least he'll be "rested" for the meaningless game at the weekend.
