  1. Thought this was a bizarre line in .com's report: Ben Arfa almost instantly suffered a dead leg and looked intent on departing before a touchline conflab resulted in his magically recovering - the lack of any Newcastle substitutes warming up from that point significant. Probably because we'd already used all three.
  2. I think "he's a professional" is the weakest argument for Pardew that I've seen yet. Me pointing out his experience and qualifications isn't an argument for keeping him at the club. There are many reasons why he shouldn't be here. Me pointing that out is merely to move the conversation on from "He's clueless! He's a charlatan! He's only there because he's blowing Ashley!" shit. It's tedious. We've got a manager who had us performing well and with many of the same players as we have now we're currently shit. There's some interesting debate to be had around it if you want to look at it sensibly. The blind rage, insult-fest is just fucking boring. Sorry like, I'm not having this. There has been very reasonable discussion going on about Pardew and his deficiencies for a number of years now (even when we finished 5th, his gaping flaws were all pointed out, and it was shouted very loudly that they would come back and bite us), and all along the way you've popped your head up every few months to tell us how utterly wrong we were. Personally I've discussed his tactics, man-management, media presence etc etc to absolute fucking death and now I've been at the stage for months where I can do nothing other than laugh at him and call him a cunt. If you wanted reasonable discussion instead of ignoring what has been absolutely fucking obvious for a long time, you should have had it, instead you (and notable others) came on and mocked people who had very genuine concerns, and now you want "interesting debate"? Go back 12 months and look at anything posted in the football forum by Beren, Interpolic, Hanz, Dave, Sewelly, mrmojorisin and countless others. There's your interesting debate. We were here a long time before you were interested in listening.
  3. Hadn't noticed these. Hughes might as well have gone up to Pards and given him the full-on wanker gesture in his face. This is the manager of Stoke City saying this ffs.
  4. The argument of "he's a professional, therefore he knows best" only works in a world where all professionals in a particular field do things exactly the same. Football managers don't.

I don't know. They lack goals. Short of turning them into Arsenal and have them pass the ball into the net I don't think there's much Poyet could have done. He took a punt on another striker in January... that didn't work out. They recalled the kid that they had out on loan... he hasn't worked out. They tried playing midfielders up front to see if they could get it done... that didn't work out. They know what the problem is, they just didn't find the right personnel to fix it. Pardew couldn't do much, Poyet couldn't do much. For someone with an avatar featuring Mourinho and Sir Bobby Robson you don't seem to have much appreciation for the effect a manager can have on a team. Where did Tony Pulis get his goals, down the back of the sofa?
  6. Not done anything like that hear, not agitated for a move or refused to play. Yet still gets hammered by fans. It's almost as if the club are putting out propaganda about a player to turn the fans against him. But I can't see them doing that. They've certainly never done anything of the sort before.
  7. Wayhey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They've only had 14 transfer windows since 2007. This next one is the key one imo.
  8. Everton's best defender has been missing for the last month, which is why they're playing the fucking teenager they got off Barnsley, and they've been unstoppable. Their best striker was also out for a month earlier in the season - they literally haven't got another striker either. Pienaar's also out with a bad knee injury. They just get on with it and keep winning. Their manager doesn't appear on MOTD waving a white flag every time somebody gets a knock.
  9. Our squad was still thin last season. Cisse had stopped scoring (and Pardew should have fixed that). But we still didn't have a period like we have over the last few months where we were getting routinely tonked. Our form before selling Cabaye - while up and down - was still much better on the whole. There's a very obvious contrast. We got beat 4-0, 3-0 and 6-0 in 3 out of 5 games towards the end of the season with Cabaye starting in all of them.
  10. Incidentally, I saw Joe Striker in Greggs eating a cheese pasty, and I know from personal experience that he is gay.
  11. BlufPurdi's definitely a female. The little radge.
  12. The club treat the supporters like cunts on a consistent basis, every day, and have done for the past seven years. God forbid a supporter should give a tiny little piece back.
  13. "What kind of jerk accosts a player at a club with a bunch of mean, prying questions?" These are the kind of fucking idiots we have in our support ffs, "mean, prying questions" god forbid we actually find out some information anyone at the club. For a lot of our supporters, having a contract at the club is sacrosanct. Elliot trumps Keegan purely because he's on the books.
  14. It was against Chelsea after Luiz wasn't sent off, Taylor and someone else (Colo maybe?) got injured, Pardew said it was because they'd been trying too hard and wouldn't have been trying that hard against ten men.
  15. Had no doubt that would be the case. They cherry pick the calls.
  16. Elliot's simply completely unequipped for play for a club like Newcastle, not just on the pitch but off it too. How fucking thick do you have to be to say that to a Newcastle fan in Newcastle city centre? Obviously has no idea of the strength of feeling in this city for the club. He could probably say shit like this when out in London since the chances of running into a Charlton fan are slim to none. If he doesn't like being in the goldfish bowl, he's welcome to go and find another club to play for. Do Walsall need a keeper?
  17. Which parts do you agree with? Feel free to contribute. At the moment, it just sounds like a vague whinge.
  18. But your opinion, and load of others, is incredibly predictable as well Wullie. I don't always agree but I respect your right to it. This is a very arrogant and blinkered stance. Yes, you've said, you've changed your opinion of Pardew and don't want him here anymore. Yet every post still comes across as a defence of him and the people running the club.
  19. I just made one fairly innocuous point, and everyone went mental as usual. Yep, and you are sitting there as smug as fuck now no doubt. Job done I'm actually really frustrated about not being able to contribute anymore. People have made it almost impossible to make any alternative points. I've never said anything to get a reaction. I've got to agree with Ian on this particular point. The overwhelming opinion on here is that nothing good can happen until Pardew and / or Ashley are run out of the club. Any opinion that deviates from that - however slightly - gets howled down. That's not an exaggeration. It's getting ridiculous. But, this is true Well if you want to believe it, that's fine. But why is it necessary that anyone who says anything remotely different gets abused? It's like a witch-hunt on here now. Witch-hunt ffs. If you're going to say something that's clearly a load of old nonsense, then you'd expect a majority of people to call you on it. That's not new, nor is it exclusive to Newcastle-Online.
