That was for the criticism btw, but could easily have been for Shak's dreadful puns.

Still can't decide whether I'm pleased with the point or disappointed it wasn't three. Feel so gutted for Demba still, hope he's not beating himself up about it.

These 7 goals he's got, does that include the one that was really a Caldwell og? 2 in the 5-1 1 today 1 from the spot after foul *ahem* on Taylor 1 header at the back post at their place 1 in the Emre game plus the Caldwell one is that it?

Ran out of ideas?? We kicked it long from the very first minute.

Eleven years without a win? That is shocking indeed. To be fair to Spurs, they did have a last minute winner cross the line by 4 feet at Old Trafford but had it disallowed for being at Old Trafford.

I tend to agree mate, people seem keen to focus on the good players we have as a reason not to rate Pardew, but they tend to forget about the absolutely terrible ones we have as well. A lot of the time he's picking the "absolutely terrible" ones ahead of the good ones though isn't he? Well sometimes he makes decisions that I don't agree with, leaving out HBA being the main one. What I mean is that the fundamental strength of our squad is often used as a reason to say Pardew's work has just been average, but I don't think that's fair when we're carrying some of the players Si mentions. Four of the eight players he mentions have been chosen ahead of HBA. That's Pardew's decision. It's also his decision to start Simpson every single game and leave him on for the full 90 minutes every single game. If we're carrying these players, why is he so desperate to have them in the team at all costs? Who is the alternative to Simpson? Santon or Ryan Taylor. Raylor is s*** for s***, and Santon then just creates a problem at LB. The squad is paper then and we don't have enough talent challenging for places in a number of positions. If he's "s*** for s***", why is Pardew picking him at right midfield? What problem does Santon create? He's a cracking player. Because if your playing him at RB then we've not got an established LB to replace him. That's the problem he creates if your using instead of Simpson. The manager clearly likes Taylor at LB, so what's the problem?

You've got to laugh at some of the absolutely dismal attempts to defend the manager's long ball game like. I know "'we're 6th and that" but Jesus. I've seen criticism of Krul, Cabaye, Ba and Cisse but question the manager's tactics, you better put your tin hat on.

Dean's absolutely hopeless. Why is it that some clubs can dictate what referees they get? Graham Poll never refereed an Arsenal game for years after the Campbell incident against us, and Clattenburg has just overseen his first Everton game in about five years since the hash he made of the Merseyside derby. Why were we given a referee who has fucked us over and cost us three points with a disgusting and indefensible decision once already this season?

I find it hard to believe we'll finish 6th like if he keeps picking the team the way he is. Never known a manager be so slow to learn from his mistakes.

Depends on how you judge it though doesn't it - I don't think anybody expected Liverpool, Chelsea and to a lesser extent Arsenal to be as dismal as they have been. Think we could have pushed for a Champions League place given how much better some of our players are than we expected them to be but the last two home games have been really stinking performances. We'd need to beat Arsenal next week to keep that dream alive. 2 points from Wolves and the mackems at home with nigh-on a full strength side (only Taylor absent) is completely unacceptable imo. We have just made a significant strengthening in January but not seeing the benefit. He seems to think having an extra clinical striker is a good reason to play a more negative game - create less chances that are more likely to be taken.
-
We'll be 6th at worst afterwards so Pardew must have got it right regardless of the result or the performance.
-
Why don't MyPal and thedude offer some constructive rebuttal instead of calling people fuckwits? What has been so good about our play in the last two months that gives you the confidence we will finish 6th? Why should we not aim to better that given the turmoil at Chelsea and the fact we've just signed a 9 million pound centre forward?
-
It's obvious that our central midfielders will prosper more with wide players offering pace and width.
-
Surprised McClean has managed to crawl out of Danny Simpson's back pocket, that's how shit he is, the ugly little cunt.
-
Argh man, you know it'll happen but it's so irritating to see Taylor in the team in midfield. Really limits the way we play.
-
That's not even Sunday laws, that's just the Five Swans in general, same every day.
-
It must be an African thing, they are sublime at penalties (apart from Martins). And that mug Gyan.
-
There's absolutely no way we should be picking a side against the mackems that's set up to worry about a single one of their players. What are they, 14th? They're fucking dogshit. O'Neill won't be sacrificing his attacking players because we've got good centre forwards, why on Earth would he?
