  1. Ferguson built that from simply being better than everybody else though, fair play to them. They have never simply had external money pumped in arbitrarily. Great goal.
  2. Or raising the standard you could argue. Man Yoo had a very good team that would have equalled this at one point, as did Chelsea. If you are arguing it is a farce due to their ability to spead money etc, then it has surely been a farce since the Russian arrived? Indeed but Man City have multiplied it still further because they've got far more money than even Roman. Couldn't give a shiny shit about raising the standard, the league should be a competition. Should just have offered City the chance to purchase the trophy before the season started and give them the little parade they're after. It's pointless.
  3. Must just be me that doesn't take any pleasure from this. City are turning the Premier League into a farce.
  4. Nope, only one game ban for denying a goalscoring opportunity.
  5. Fuck's sake, though he'd have at least dragged Welbeck off. Rubbish.
  6. Balance of power really starting to look like it's shifted. Ugh. City are such a shit nothing club as well, much like Chelsea were, and still are.
  7. Did Taylor change his shirt yesterday, can't say I noticed him doing so?
  8. Only time you should be booked for celebrating is deliberately antagonising the opposition supporters, Adebayor-style. In front of your own, you should be able to do what the fuck you like.
  9. Yep, I was thinking Bolton too - http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/1795086.stm
  10. Thats a good rule, nowt worse when teams are beating you or getting a valuable point and they start taking forever, especially if it's a team who start doing it as early as they can into the game. When was the last time you saw the rule enforced though? Is it not meant to be an indirect freekick? Keepers get booked for timewasting all the time on goal kicks, pretty sure Krul has had a few. I can only ever remember seeing it enforced once and that was for us, can't remember which game it was but Shearer dispatched the free kick.
  11. I'm sure the reasoning behind the shirtlifter rule is to avoid offending foreign cultures where it's socially unacceptable to do such a thing. Farcical really. I think it's actually to do with sponsors not being happy about their ads getting less exposure at the point where they're supposed to get the most exposure.
  12. I think it's quite unfair to say he was anonymous, I think everything we do goes through him and that's been the biggest difference this season, to have an outlet in the centre that will rarely lose possession easily and can pick the best pass out to develop an attack. He's the one that the rest of the players look for when they don't really know where to go. Even when he's not doing anything special, he'll still always be finding space and popping the ball off where it needs to go. Jonas in particular is benefiting hugely from this because he's picking the ball up further up the pitch than he was last year, in attacking areas rather than the edge of his own box.
  13. Makes me laugh that story, what the hell did he think he was doing when he made that decision?
  14. Smith ffs. Hope it's not another one where we're 2-0 up with two minutes left, that oxygen thief comes on and we end up winning 2-1 by the skin of our teeth... or worse.

Nah we were the only two sides who hadn't either had one or conceded one.

I'm honestly surprised at the 'shrug of the shoulders' attitude amongst Newcastle fans amongst this. As usual with us, there's one been stand your feet and shout moment when things like these happen but then we never bother to stand up for ourselves again. It's absolutely hideous what has/is being done to our fantastic stadium. I know there's not a whole lot we can do atm, but people really need to make the board well aware that vandalising St.James' Park with those god awful signs just is not an option. In times like these in modern football the heritage and pride of St.James' is something that must be fought for, because there's not a whole lot of soul left in any clubs these days imo. I think that were this to happen on the continent, ie in Italy, Germany or Holland etc then there would be absolute uproar about it, followed by rigorous protests. Indeed, well every club in Germany is 51% fan owned and that means they are the ones with the power within the game, that's the way it should be imo. What power does the British fan have? Absolutely fuck all.

Re: the attitude that "well this is the modern game, everyone's doing it" - if you look at the top two tiers of the Emirates, a brand new stadium, one simply has Arsenal and the crest alternately all the way round and the other has a list of the trophies that Arsenal have won. It's also all red and white. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/d/d1/Emirates_Stadium_-_East_stand_Club_Level.jpg Old Trafford has 'Old Trafford Manchester' on the top of it and the tiers of the stand are particularly famous for being decked out in all manner of club history related banners. Everything's also red. Quite apart from us not receiving anything financially, this idea that we have to put up with this shit is absolute nonsense. Arsenal and Man Utd have much bigger corporate responsibilities than we do and somehow manage to honour them without making their stadiums, new and old, look like a cheap blue and red billboard.
  19. How can money not be an excuse ? Petrol has gone from 80p to 1.35 and if you drive a 4.4 like me its costing me nearly £80 more a month to do the same old shit. Bread from 80p to £1.42 as an example, Its not about tickets going up or down, its everything else. My business is actually doing better this year but I can`t afford to do half the shit with my kids I used too. i`m no economist but if you think money isn`t effecting people then a) you still liva at home with mum and dad or b) you have a good top job. I know this was posted ages ago but nevertheless, I'm neither of those things, I have a shit job and a mortgage and like everyone I know how hard times are but I think if we were top of the league and going for the title, that we'd fill the ground every week. If we keep up our current form *prays* I think we'll see that over the next few months.
