A hundred times better than Monday night, gutted not to take three points in the end but a really well earned point and finally a decent attacking performance.
-
Can't be that much to do with money seeing as they farmed him out on loan for a year beforehand.
-
Biggest question raised by this game is why the fuck Everton were so desperate to get shot of Yakubu with their striking options.
-
Cabaye will require a neck brace after this one.
-
If he's got a knee injury which he's had several operations on and may continue to recur then of course he's injury prone, by definition. Hardly his fault but it appears that's the way it is.
-
It's almost as if signing injury prone players because they're cheaper might leave you with more injury prone players. One of those weird coincidences.

No, let's compare Raylor and Ferguson. Who have been s*** two matches, and average (at best) two others? Who is the speedy, talented youngster who has a lot of energy and enthusiasm, and deserves a chance? Weird and stupid enough, it's quite obvious Raylor will keep his place. Shouldn't be. At all. All fair comment, except for saying "s*** two matches, and average (at best) two others" without mentioning that he scored the winner away to the Mackems! Give the lad some credit! And you were scoffing at me comparing Solano and Ferguson? Ryan Taylor hitting a dead ball well doesn't compensate for the fact he can't bring the ball out and totally fucks up our football with his panic stricken wellies down the pitch. Ferguson can play, he's done well previously and the Solano comparison is a good one because Nobby was the last player you would expect to make a decent full back. It's a ridiculous comparison tbh. How can you compare a kid to an experienced professional in his 30s? If it's so easy, you might as well play any old winger at full back. A player who can bring the ball out is the last thing I'm worried about when N'Zogbia's playing. He went up against Perch last time he played against us and absolutely tore him to shreds What makes you think he won't tear Raylor a new one? Ferguson is either left back material or he isn't. If he is then put him in and let him show what he's got, he doesn't look the nervous type to me. If he's not then we should have stumped up the money and got Neil Taylor in as cover. He might well do and I agree, we should have. Our defensive squad right across the back four is farcically thin/weak. You seem to be suggesting we do something based on footballing needs. We don't do that. I don't think Ferguson's left back material in a month of Sundays tbh, unless he's been on the steroids over the summer.

They charge away fans the price of the most expensive ticket for home fans, I believe, which is in line with the PL law that you're not allowed to charge more than that. You're right, though, it is a rip off. It won't make you feel better, but my mate has bought a ticket just along from my ST in the Upper Trinity and it cost him 43 notes, too. What's more, as I stumped out 580 quid for my ST, I'll be taking a long, hard look at the ticket prices this season. What they've effectively done is conduct a summer transfer and manager acquisition period of such utter, utter fucking ineptitude, that they have effectively driven a big wooden stake through the last remaining vestiges of hope at the club. Season ticket sales are down 8,000. They have massively, massively underestimated the fans reaction to appointing McLeish, too. An aura of doom hangs around the whole place. This is the sort of ineptitude we're dealing with. After appointing AM, they realised how much they'd annoyed people, and wrote to previous ST holders to try and gee them up. Here's the text. Spot the glaring ommission. Well, actually, I'll point it out. Not a single mention of on-field aims, of football intentions, of trying to compete. Not one. It reads like a letter to shareholders. I know a few people who were wavering on renewing, got this badly thought out nonsense, and knocked the idea right on the head as a result. The letter makes it sound like we're meant to cheer being one of the top 20 money raking clubs in Europe. Fucking hell.

I'm no fan of Ryan Taylor as a left back but do we know if Ferguson can defend any better than he can? Speed, talent with the ball, energy and enthusiasm will count for little if Charles N'Zogbia is on his game. Was it against Chelsea in the cup he played left back for us once? Did great there iirc. I have absolutely no doubt, what so ever, that he is a more capable defender than Raylor. Based on absolutely nothing. Based on that match, and of course seeing Raylor (not) defend(ing). Based on one game? Ok then. Maybe we should get David Edgar back since he played a blinder against Man Utd five year ago. Mostly based on watching Raylor be piss poor. What a stupid comparison btw. How is that a stupid comparison? People said exactly the same about Edgar on here after that game when he never featured for ages afterwards, and he is/was a defender! Turned out the reason he hadn't been playing was because he was fairly rubbish.
-
Please just bore off. Point being - why play proven shit, when you can play a talented youngster who deserves some playing time? Because if he gets torn to pieces in a position that he might not be ready to play in, it could do him far more harm than good?

It's fuck all to do with advertising, consumerism or the way football is heading and everything to do with Mike Ashley being a cunt. The club makes no profit from this so any debate about any of that is pointless and irrelevant.

"A fractured skull? Shit, that's bad news. Hope it's not a broken back."
-
Will Etihad ever catch on as City's stadium name? COMS and Eastlands are both quite well established, doesn't roll off the tongue either.
-
Didn't realise Liberty was a company and of course I don't count ours ffs.
-
Really? How many are there in the Premier League? 2 or 3? Anyway, you can't rename a long standing existing stadium which already has a name, it's ridiculous because nobody would call it by its new name.
-
Maybe he's using it to show potential sponsors what they could get for their money? We'll only really know if he's knocking back good money if a company that is interested in buying the stadium rights goes public about not getting the opportunity. Give over man, they've been 'showcasing' this w*** since 2009. They said it was only going to be until the end of that season, yet another f***ing lie. The Gallowgate Roof barely even counts as advertising. Who sees it, other than a bunch of people that detest him and his shitty company? The away fans? Hardly an enormous market. It's all about marking his territory and showing us who's boss, doing it because he can and we can't do anything about it, just a pathetic petty arsehole. He's like a cat pissing in the corner. Errrrr what about helicopter traffic going over the stadium? Prime sporting retail goods market if you must know. You're such a closed-mind at times. Andy Carroll's never out of there now, David Ruiz shops elsewhere for his two quid Donnay socks however.

I always thought that Lisbon away was much worse, as I genuinely thought that we stood a chance that year. Me too, it was a round further too.
