Kenwright has got no money behind him whatsoever. Never said he had, did I? I was simply questioning how he can show "ambition" with no money, and its also obvious their ability to borrow is limited. They've tried to sell the club but no buyer wants to know because the club isn't going to get anywhere unless they get a new stadium (about £300m I think). And your point about selling Rooney was crap btw How was it crap? It's all relative. League positions: 2000/2001 16th 2001/2002 15th 2002/2003 7th 2003/2004 17th Sell Rooney 2004/2005 4th 2005/2006 11th 2006/2007 6th 2007/2008 5th 2008/2009 5th 2009/2010 8th It's only relative compared to how they would have done if they hadn't sold Rooney, which is conjecture but I reckon a player of his capability might have made the difference in a two-legged Champions League qualifier - for comparison, they played with James Beattie and Marcus Bent up front instead. I'd say their upturn in form over eight years correlates more with David Moyes getting the job than them getting a load of money they didn't even get the chance to spend before this upturn started.

How will it put anyone but him on a downer? If anythIng it'll boost that of a young player replacIng him and give them some Prem experience. His performances have dropped anyway Why on Earth would you want to put him on a "downer"? And have they? He's been outstanding in our last two games. I don't want him on a downer but Dave reckons the morale would drop for the team, i simply said it wouldn't effect anyone else bar him. Aye righto, Coloccini and Jonas will be over the moon when they see their mate dropped without reason, not to mention all his other friends at the club. Did wonders for Ruud Gullit when he made Rob Lee train with the reserves, Shearer was well chuffed. Give over man. So we should let Jonas & Colo pick the team, why have a manager? Can't remember Rob Lee wanting away and thinking the club was beneath him. Did I say they should pick the team? We're talking about squad morale.

Come on Dave, you're better than this. 2009-10 8th 2007-08 5th 2006-07 6th 2005-06 11th 2004-05 4th 2003-04 17th 2002-03 7th 2001-02 15th 2000-01 16th 1999-2000 13th 2004/05 was the season that Rooney was sold, obviously this season is looking crap for them. Obviosuly this doesn't take the management skills of Moyes into account but we dont seem to be interested in what a manager does for the team anyway when it comes how much moolah we spend. What are you implying then? That Everton strengthened the squad by selling their best player and not buying anyone? If they'd kept Rooney, they might have won that Champions League qualifier and who knows what that money would have done for them? They'd probably have gotten as much for that as they did for Rooney, but they'd still have had him. Everton are the perfect example of what not to do when you've got good players. Simple stuff this like. To be honest, I was just showing the other side of the coin. Can't really be bothered to give you a proper reply because I usually get pure crap out of you. http://www.oneinchpunch.net/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/extreme-ironing-05.jpg

Got to laugh at Everton being used as an example. Kenwright rivals Ashley for lack of ambition, he's a very hated man on the blue side of Liverpool.
-
Everton have done blindingly since they sold Rooney like. One Champions League qualifier, which they lost. Get the bunting out.
-
By some considerable distance.

Six months??? Fucking hell, you can get three years for flicking the V's at the away fans. Has anything happened to that little shite that pushed Harper over?
-
How much is it direct from the clubs though? Personally I don't think there should be such a thing as a neutral ticket for a game like that.
-
Whether it be via Twitter, body language or in comments made off the field, there has been a clear change in Jose, first when Hughton went but particularly since we got rid of AC9, to his credit not in terms of his performances however. He knows there's nothing for an ambitious young footballer at NUFC. I know that too but I'm stuck with it, Andy Carroll should have been stuck with it but Jose certainly is not and has no reason to be. You can stick your heads in the sand all you like but I think he's a goner and once again, it'll be all the player's fault.
-
Fucking money grabbing cunt. Might as well get the "player wants out of NUFC" cliche bingo started.
-
Fucking hell man Ian, we got relegated. That's about the worst thing that can happen to a club of our size.
-
Yeah. Enrique is a good player and an improved player, but I'm not sure he's good enough for a Champions League club and the Spanish national side. His defending is still a bit hit and miss and he's still prone to giving the ball away in his own half. Jose Enrique's defending is hit and miss? Are we talking about the same bloke?
-
Probably wouldn't have come up without them.
-
And lucky that several ultimately key players had very high wages but very low stock so we couldn't get rid. Very much doubt we kept players like Coloccini out of choice.
-
I'm not up to speed with what constitutes European qualification this season... would we need Arsenal to win the Carling Cup and the FA Cup final to be contested by two top 5 sides for it to drop to 7th place?
-
Everton are another club with zero ambition so that's a crap example.
-
Not sure why Villa's so funny. While he's been in this country, they've finished 6th three times, played in Europe, spent a fortune and just bought a 24m centre forward. Meanwhile he's been here with Kinnear as manager, sack the one who got us promoted, seen us sell everyone we've had an offer for and been relegated. Black and white specs firmly on if you think we look a better career move.
-
Surely it's more to do with interest from 'bigger' clubs because of his performances this season. Doubt the prospect of the champions league was mooted when we went down.
-
Oh i am resigned to it, doesn't make it any less of a kick in the bollocks though.
