  1. God I'm sick as fuck. Didn't even watch the pens after Rashford missed, writing was on the wall, had to go in the garden.
  2. Maguire to score, Verratti card 42/1
  3. If I posted as a fan on a (e.g.) Red Star Belgrade forum for over a decade, then Serbia made their way to their first major tournament final, I'd probably be quite pleased for them, rather than head straight on to post relentlessly about how much I wanted them to lose and what arrogant paranoid cheats they are. We're obviously different people.
  4. It's not offensive is it, it's just a bit of an arsehole thing to do? If you make your way onto a Fiorentina forum today with an English flag waving and spend two days posting about what a bunch of undeserving cheats they are, they'll certainly tell you to sod off as well.
  5. Bit ridiculous of accusing him of being anti-English. I'm sure Pata changed his avatar to an Italian flag within the last 24 hours for entirely unrelated reasons. Maybe had a cracking carbonara last night.
  6. Yes the Premier League was definitely the crucial point there, despite the fact Serie A and La Liga both had about 20 more penalties awarded last season. Face it, that's given as a penalty by most European top flight referees in 2021. Sorry like.
  7. There'll be a softer penalty than that given within the first 2 PL weekends. Feel free to quote me on that.
  8. It's a bog standard soft penalty that's given about 50% of the time in the PL without anyone batting an eyelid.
  9. Christ what an irritating man.
  10. I haven't seen enough appreciation for Kane's ball through for Saka before the first goal. One of the best passes of the tournament.
  11. The Irish are in agreement that it was a penalty all day long.
  12. I'm not even wild on him but he's had a hand in 3 crucial goals.
  13. Probably sounded a bit overly pessimistic there, I just mean I think it's a bit of a coin toss game and I always expect things to go wrong when it really matters where England are concerned.
  14. Don't get me wrong, unlike the last round, I personally don't have a single shred of confidence that we'll win tonight.
  15. Who's doing that though? There was an obvious joke headline on the back of the Mirror, and Rio Ferdinand was very confident but he's allowed to be, it's his opinion that he's paid to offer. I was extremely confident we would beat Ukraine, to the point where I wasn't the least bit nervous about the game. That wasn't some sort of English arrogance, it was just my view as a football fan on what looked a total mismatch in terms of the two teams involved. Apart from that, I don't see anything beyond the knowledge that we have a good team and that if we play well on the night, we'll give ourselves a good chance of going through. What's wrong with that? My biggest bugbear when England play these days is the accusations, from others and from ourselves, is of some sort of arrogance, and I have simply never seen it. Usually it revolves around the literal interpretation of three words of a song that's actually about how we never win anything but that we hope we do one day. Conversation online in the last two tournaments has been absolutely identical (often from English people): Second round: God the English are so arrogant, noticing who they might have to play in the draw, like they're ever going to get past Germany/Colombia! Quarter Final: God, the English are so arrogant and they're not even any good, they think they just have to turn up against Sweden/Ukraine! Semi Final: God, the English are so arrogant, they've not even played anyone good yet, obviously they were going to beat Sweden/Ukraine! Just let people look forward to an international tournament semi final without trying to pour cold water on it (sorry, not a dig at you, just in general, I had this rant three years ago as well I think).
  16. I doubt the Danish press have mentioned it at all this morning.
  17. My wife gets them and she puts a quid on once in a blue moon.
