  1. Cardiff have got cheating down to a 't'. They're even managing to make Alan Smith look hard done by.
  2. Problem is that if we do go up and Ashley is still here, we're looking at a catastrophic return. We'll make those Derby and sunderland sides look like Brazil 1970.
  3. He's a fucking amazing attacking full back. He is suspect defensively. Suspect? He's a shambles, every goal England concede at the moment is due to his total inability to do his job and stop the left winger. At a World Cup, that will cost us. He is good going forward though against shit teams, fair play to him.
  4. Can we stop the Glen Johnson bumming please? Exposed again.
  5. Was quoting what Slaven Bilic had said wasn't he? It was Clive who added the bit about the joys of supporting English clubs.
  6. "English football recovered easily because English clubs are so strong and England fans simply returned to the joys of supporting their clubs" Fuck off Clive, you utter bellend, we don't all go chasing after the shiny-shiny like you. For most of us it's pure misery.
  7. A man goes into a pub and says "Will you give me a free pint if I show you my talking dog?" So the barman says "Tell you what, if you show me a proper talking dog I'll give you two free pints". Brilliant, thinks the bloke. "Now then boy, what's the opposite of smooth" -Ruff "What's the long grassed section of a golf course, just off the fairway called?" -Ruff "Who's Scotland's most capped goalkeeper?" -Ruff "Fuck off" says the barman "and Stop wasting my time". When they're outside the man has a go at his dog "Well that didn't go too bloody well, did it?" "Sorry" says the dog "it's not Jim Leighton is it?"
  8. Yeah, I agree with that. Looking at some teams, even a few of the top end teams rely on a target man to win things in the air. There aren't many "crafty" forwards in this league (someone with a similar style to Viduka, but obviously not as good), the likes of Derby, Preston, Sheff United, Leicester, Palace and a few of the other top half teams all rely upon big target men as their Plan A. I thought Sheff Weds for example passed it round with the speed of a lower level Premier League side but were shocking in the final third and offered next to no threat despite their steady possession. Lets see how many Ebanks-Blake gets this year in the Premier League. I'd wager easily less than ten, yet he was top scorer in last years Championship. With us Michael Chopra was one of the least threatening centre forwards I've seen in the Premier League, he looked like he could run round for hours on end without even getting a sniff of a chance. One summer later in the Championship he couldn't stop scoring. He did a bit better at the mackems but not much, which is why they offloaded him fast.
  9. He did say 'home game' if we're going to be pedantic.
  10. We weren't on the telly against Sheff Wed, Huddersfield or Crystal Palace. It's alaso far too early to judge this league and some people on here need a reality check as they have become far too confident. Unlikely to get 40k in the away end at Selhurst Park tbf.

    Our midfield

Barton's been the poorest of our central midfielders so far this season imo.
  12. Great player for us but his form in front of goal dropping off after Christmas really cost us in '96. If it had been Shearer in the same positions against Man Utd, that would have been game, set and match as far as the title was concerned.

    Our midfield

It was not me who was instigating the conversation it was some mates who dont support newcsatle and asked me. And I still agree on saying on paper we have a better midfiled than most PL teams. My opinion. Its not right or qrong it just what i personally think Not only is it wrong, it's downright mental.
  14. How to con a penalty <=== CLICK THERE I remember Chopra winning a couple of very dodgy penalties for us, two in two successive home games iirc. He's got a touch of the Andy Johnson about him, the cheating mackem f***. I remember Chopra winning a dubious penalty against Wigan at home during 05-06. You're probably thinking of the shove on Bowyer during the home game right before that, which also was won us a penalty Nope I'm thinking of the one the game after Wigan, West Brom, which Shola tucked away as it came after Shearer's knee went at the SOS. Howay Ronaldo get your facts right man.

  16. Glen Johnson, what an absolute fucking mug, honestly. If he plays at a World Cup we have absolutely no chance. Teams just target his ineptitude time and time again.
  17. yes No it isn't. since when? BTW I'm basing this on seeing Tony Norman sent off for Sunderland for a simple catch, way back in the day I refer you to: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/3586054.stm Sounds like a different interpretation to me What do you mean? Well what we have here is examples of both a yellow card and a red card given for the same offence. Who's to say which is right, unless you can produce a rule of course It's treated exactly the same as any handball. Page 110: http://www.fifa.com/mm/document/affederation/federation/81/42/36/lotg_en.pdf It's not though. The vast majority of handballs are just freekicks. If a keeper tocuhes the ball out of the box, he's lucky to escape with a yellow card. By the laws of the game it is. When a goalkeeper carries the ball out of the area during his kicking motion, they don't send him off ffs. Jaaskelainen did it at SJP, Shearer slammed the free kick away. Jose Reina did it a season or two ago too against Bolton (he didn't actually, it was a ludicrous decision). Neither were sent off though. The Jaaskelainen incident was for holding on to the ball too long (in the box) You're right actually. I'm sure we got a decision like that under SBR though, I was thinking WBA too but that was a backpass. It was a European game I think. Bingo. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/n/newcastle_united/3525557.stm Cheers.
