Would have thought it'd have been noticed sooner then.... I noticed it earlier, didn't really think it worth posting since it had already been reported as a torn hamstring.

Would love it if he went the way of Bernard...really would. What, running a crepe shop? Is one not enough, you fat fucker?

The thing that concerns me most about this is the effect it'll have on Bassong. Hopefully none but he is French after all.

I'm hoping for an away game at Eastlands so he can give Shay Given his annual Christmas present. I was on about N'Zogbia. I know, I meant to put Taylor's name in there somewhere.

Are you serious? That is f***ing disgusting if true. Wish we would just flog all these whinging ungrateful wasters. Nolan's attitude today has been such a breath of fresh air. Christ, if only we had eleven Alan Smiths, eh. What the hell could Oba have to complain about right now though? I would be so dissapointed in him if true. He has played every game when fit for goodness sake. If he is purposely sitting out games as HTT implies then we are freakin' screwed and really can't afford that at all. faked a complicated surgery in germany is what im hearing... "Vot is zis? Zer iz nuzzing wrong inst here!"

It's just running on the news feed. Has been for a few hours.

There really is absolutely nothing to base that on. Well there is, I think he's a superb footballer. He's fast basically. Your opinion. I think Wigan will be looking at much bigger bids for him before long.

and Milner is helping to establish Villa in the top four. Whereas our 'brilliant' summer of transfers has us on the brink of relegation. if i had a choice of paying a little too much for transfers, and receiving slightly less than we're due on our sales, but getting in exactly who we need to improve us, then i would take that over some clever negotiating for average players like Nolan and Taylor or good players like Given and N'Zogbia. Neither of which wanted to even play for us again though. I'm all for keeping good players but if they refuse to play for us then what choice has the club got? But the reason they didn't want to be here was because the squad building in the summer has left us where we are and because we've showed very little ambition. At the moment, that's still true. No point selling your council house for a million quid if you then go and live in a cardboard box on the high street. That's fair enough. What were the club supposed to do under the circumstances though? The 2 players clearly don't want to be here so what else has the club to do other than to get the best deal possible for the pair of them? I agree but I'd rather they felt this football club was going forward and wanted to be part of it. At the moment we're a poorer side for the loss of these two imo, even with the new additions. Lot of work on incoming players to do before Monday for me.

He better be good. The bastard's spoiled my last two Christmases.

He's been the same for years. Fair enough but I'm not so sure.

I'd prefer to see how we do without them and with the new lads before I go counting chickens.

I'm happy with that deal but Charlie will be class for them.

I was more shocked at how shit your calendar is.

Money. That's really why it's hard to have respect for Given in this move. If a top 4 side were in for him fine, thanks for a job well done hope you go win a medal. But there is no promises that Man City will be in the top 8 next year, never mind the top 4. For all we know Shay could be replaced by the time they get anywhere near the Champions League. It's all about the money. And that's what makes it so disappointing. I think that is absolute shite. He's going there cos it has a sign of promise. There is no chance of him getting in a top 4 team so he needs to find a team that has a chance of getting somewhere. The only teams that have a vague chance of getting there are Villa/Man City. The reason Man City have a chance is because of money, yes, but thats not why he's going there imo. Anyone who thinks a move to Man City is a 'sideways' move from Newcastle United in its current state, is deluded. I totally agree. Some very petty barbs being thrown at an NUFC legend in this thread imo.

Club have had to alter their transfer policy to exclude any player whose name kinnear can't pronounce. If we want to shop abroad, we need him to undergo an extensive language coaching programme - think 'that would be an ecumenical matter.'
