.com reckon Richard Money will take temporary charge.

"People can make too much of little things. Dennis' job is to go out and look at young talent all around the world. His task is to help bring new players to our attention and to oversee the Academy and the staff there, producing a new cycle of players, some of whom we want to see break into the first team in a few years." - Mike Ashley, August 23.

I hope KK keeps his mouth shut. No point getting involved in a public slanging match.

Exactly. by keegan and the board Keegan is sticking by his original story. well did he say he had the final say........then he didn't...which was it ? he says he was happy to work with wise and jiminez...now it doesn't look like he was ? wise wasnt giving KK the respect he deserves, and boasting about it, KK is too big for that man. Seems the other way around to me. Wise and whoever got Keegan some cracking players this summer, and he wasn't happy about it. Which cracking players? Umm, Coloccini? Guthrie? Gutierrez? Bassong? Right, ok. Bassong's not started a Premiership game yet and Guthrie was apparently KK's, so I'm not sure we can count them as "cracking" players brought in by the new lot. The other two, fair enough (so far) but for me, they've not improved the squad enough. On that sort of evidence, I could name you a "cracking player" signed by every other club in the Premiership this summer. I think a crack recruitment team with no other duties should have more to show than a couple of good players. Any one of us on here could manage that.

Not only that but he's walked away from jobs twice over it, first the Croat at Pompey then Woodward at Saints.

I like the idea that his list was Ronaldinho, Lampard, Henry and Danny Guthrie.

Again, the difference between this joke of a statement and the sort of PR we were seeing under Chris Mort is incredible. I'm convinced it's this toad Llambias.

They're clearly angry about what's gone on. Well if they want anger, they'll get it next Saturday. Fucking wankers.

I think we kept Wise cause Ashley was happy with our signings - and so am i - what more did you want from him??? Genuine question: why do clubs have managers if all you need is a chief scout? Another one: how can any manager formulate a style of play when he's not getting to choose the players? Shoehorning the "best players" (ha) into a team does not work. You'd know that if you'd watched England at any time in the last ten years. Erm, to manage the playing staff? You know... like most jobs. 2. Signing specific types of players to carry out the roles. We needed a pacey winger, we've got one. A "target-man" style centre forward, i think we've signed one. Maybe Keegan had a different vision. I don't believe he was in a Martin Jol-like position where he asked for a defensive midfielder and the powers at be signed a striker instead. But surely the playing staff doesn't need managing if they're such good signings?

What I don't get it is that he's quoted as saying he wants to buy players young and develop them so they have resale value - fair enough, Wenger's been doing that for years then selling them on for massive wedge when he thinks he has/can get better - difference is that Wenger does actually spend the money he brings in. I'm really not interested in how much spare cash NUFC has lying around if it's just sitting in an account, not unless they change the rules of the Premiership and start giving FA Cups out for it.

quite possibly libelous If the money isn't invested in the squad, it has to go somewhere else. It seems to me that making the club profitable has a higher priority than making us competitive. The lack of investment is evidence of that. Could it not be sat in the clubs account? Like it would have been when we sold Andy Cole or Woodgate? Over three consecutive transfer windows, along with increased TV money and three season's worth of season ticket sales? They must be getting some hefty interest on that bad boy.

The total dominance of English clubs (many with "continental" managers who refuse to use this system) would suggest not.

Are you kidding?? You only need to look a few posts ago to see most wanted rid of Milner and 12 mill was amazing - we couldn't turn that down!!!!! If Smith didn't need replacing then he had to go - his wage was a drain. I haven't heard any stories other than Ashley wanted to sell and Keegan wanted to keep. So in my eyes i support Ashley on this. If you were an Arsenal fan, do you think you would you have happily seen Wenger walk because he "wanted to keep" Senderos?

No, ally. We'd have had 20 million in the bank though. Watch out chelsea!
-
Smith would have gone if he wasn't going to have to take a massive paycut for anyone to have him. I want him gone. So did kk. That's why he wasn't even getting off the bench once our strikers were back last season. The idea that we should have kept dennis wise ahead of kevin keegan because kk 'wanted' alan smith is absolutely laughable.
-
Keegan was desperate to keep smith but was also doing everything he could to keep him off the field? Righto. If he wanted to keep him it was probably because the crack recruitment team hadn't bothered to buy players before the last day but was more than happy to sell them off.
-
We'd have been just as short on strikers if they'd managed to peddle owen, except we'd have had an unproven kid instead of the bloke that has been scoring every week for months.
-
and how exactly can you be certain it was him driving??? you cant! You probably can tbh seeing as the video is edited down. the video shows him getting in the car. it isnt even proved its the same day? he could have swapped seats with a passenger? etc etc etc Er yeah but they wouldn't put the whole video on the Mirror website. Personally I wonder why they bothered with any of it. What a non-story.
-
Is the saving outweighed by the interest on the card? If so, why the hell do that? Probably a Barclaycard.

He's got a point though. Wish we had a chairman like Niall Quinn, not only will he buy the rounds all night, he'll drive you home afterwards as well. Put your seatbelt on though.
