Souness was a bad appointment in retrospect. He undid all of Sir Bobby's good work, as had Dalglish with Keegan's.
I don't buy the curse thing anymore, otherwise we wouldn't have won the League Cup, last year. That pish has been banished.
Part of me thought that Souness would sort out the 'Young guns' as they called themselves - Dyer, Bellamy, Jenas, Ameobi and Bramble - but after a good start, it quickly turned to shite.
I'm bemused as to this 'patterns of play' stuff that some managers come out with now. Rehearsed pish from the training ground. Where is risk, flair, invention and trying something different gone from this game?
If we had just shown a bit more belief…. Again, a failing to make their keeper do much in terms of making saves.
