Burnley's days as a PL club were over when this very dodgy takeover was allowed to go through. I've always had a bit of of a soft spot for them - they signed a lot of lads from the NE back in the day and I also know Ray Hankin, who was there centre-forward during the mid-70's. before they sold him to Leeds. They may have a lot of gammon for supporters, but they still have (or had) the feel of a proper, traditional club.

Not about comparing them in terms of ability - more about the job that they were brought in to do.

Same as Marlon Harewood and Darryl Murphy - and if he has a similar effect (keeping us up) then job done.

The club has been rotting from the top ever since Ashley bought the club. We've got new owners, but it's gonna take a long time to fix and things may have to get worse before they get better. Ashley has well and truly left his mark.

Of course I watched the Man United game. It's one thing raising your game to face that lot, but what happened today was a shambles. And lets face it - it's not one off, either. A losing mentality has gripped this club for far too long. It needs sorting, but it's going to take a long time. A relegation may have to come for this to happen - to get shot of those who are merely only interested in collecting their wage packets.

It wasn't great at towards the end of 91/92, but at least we saw some fight. That's not present with this lot.

Something alone the lines of Bruce would come out with. He's protecting his players - though god knows why.

If Bruce were still in charge, there would be hell on tonight. Howe may still be getting comfy in his seat, but questions have to rightly be asked.
