fucking ridiculous man. me and my "posh -geordie" speaking kids as middle class as you can get, but we've been involved in plenty of protests going back to the "sack pardew" days. there's plenty chavs giving it the "support the team, man", "nee point protesting", "rafa' gotta a take a load of the blame". a lot of the magpie group back in the day protesting againts McKeag were middle class professionals. The demographics of the average PL football fan has changed in the last 20 years. Now, the average supporter is a middle-older aged man, from a middle-class background. The days of us young lads all standing together in the Gallowgate (which I did!) are long gone. And football is all the worse for it. Sky and the PL have taken the game away from the working class.

Saw something on FB last night in that could the problem be that we have too many middle-class supporters/spectators now? They really aren't bothered. Many die-hards, particularly those that used to be more 'up for stuff' have either stopped going to games, or are priced out.

Just wrote this on FB. Thought you's might like a read; To my fellow Newcastle supporters What does NUFC mean to you? To me, it is memories and pride. Going to the match with my dad, as a bairn during the Keegan Day's of the 80's - standing in the family enclosure and watching KK, Beardsley, Waddle and later Gazza grace the hallowed turf. The Second coming of Keegan - Andy Cole, Peter Beardsley, Rob Lee, Sir Les and Alan Shearer - title challenges. So near and yet so far. By this time I was locked out as a poor student, but I still have happy memories. Sir Bobby Robson's years - Nobby, Shearer, Bellamy, Laurent Robert and Gary Speed. Title challenges, Champions League including a trip to Juventus, then watching us beat that team at home. Seeing Barcelona at St James, UEFA Cup run to the semis, classic FA Cup games v Chelsea and Spurs. I become a dad for the first time in 2008 - Mike Ashley has taken over the club. Newcastle beat WBA 2-1 on the day Cally was born. I long for the day I can take her to the match, as my dad did with me. But NUFC go off the rails due to Ashley's mismanagement. I still attend the odd game, taking Cally a couple of times, but it's not the same. The magic has gone - perhaps lost forever. I still have my memories and always will. But make no mistake, Mike Ashley would have them too if he could. Plastered with Sports Direct advertising and sold to the highest bidder,. Under this man, nothing is sacred. So the time has come and what to do. Do you take a stand and fight, or do you shrug your shoulders and continue do nothing? At least like me, you will still have your memories. But it's all you will only ever have.

Covmag - it makes for depressing reading. But sadly there are many match goers who are either beyond help or merely don't give enough of a fuck to get involved. For them, the match is about meeting their mates, having a few beers and getting away from the wife and bairns for a few hours. -
Millwall level. What videos btw, Shields lad?!

He's not going to sign a new deal. He's been made a mug of for too long.

Waiting to go on Radio Newcastle.

yup - Rafa - please walk away now. You've done all you can. Let it burn.
-
Kenedy and Joselu stay on :-D Rafa has got it wrong today and most of the players have let him down too.

This has been a horrible performance. Doing their best to get knocked out. This club is desperate.

Not confident of where the goals are gonna come from, with Hoss playing upfront. -

hadnt given it any thought- but Howey has just asked what that would be if we were paid for advertising? probs another 20-30m income to add to that Nah, £5-8m I would say. Am sure it was worked out some years ago, that matchday advertising inside St James would be worth in the region of £8million a season. That's at least £88million Ashley has screwed the club out of, during his tenure so far. -

who? :: Unsure if I just don't get twitter or he's deleted comments but I can't see where he's popping at anyone? Calling Happy Face a “bottler” for posting figures twitter then not wanting to go on TV and talk about them (cos Downie won’t analyse them himself). Totally unnecessary. That's real shithouse behaviour from Downie. Really, really poor. -

I'm surprised Dennis Skinner isn't there - normally he can't wait to stick the boot into Ashley. -

Speaking well. She is indeed. Ashley will be hating this.
