They've taken their time about this meeting!

Mackems away, Oct 24th - home game in March. Everton at home on Boxing Day.

Little interest for me now in following the national team. Watched it for 15 whilst I had tea - saw them concede the awful goal (Sunday League defending) I'm going back to FM and 5Live on in the background. England just a bang average national side and that is regressing year after year.

Just seen this on FB - s/t availability in St James, currently;
-
As ever, actions speak louder than words. Sales must be very sluggish

Mexico pull one back. Howler from the keeper?

I might see if I can get on Total Sport when Bird is on, next season to call him out about this. Given that he had a go at The Sun being linked with an exclusive rights deal, some months ago. Journo's man.

I wouldn't call them communists..... fascists is definitely more apt.

http://www.pressgazette.co.uk/newcastle-united-again-accused-gagging-media-mirror-and-sky-sports-emerge-preferred-media-partners? Newcastle United again accused of 'gagging' media as Mirror and Sky Sports emerge as 'preferred media partners' William Turvill 10 June 2015 Printer-friendly version Newcastle United Football Club has once again annoyed football reporters after the club’s new manager was allegedly “gagged” from speaking to most media organisations. (Picture: Reuters) A number of sports journalists have criticised the club after only the Mirror and Sky Sports News were allowed to interview Steve McClaren this afternoon. According to a well-placed source, no other journalists were allowed into the conference and McClaren told them afterwards that he could not speak. Last year, sports journalists alleged that The Sun had struck up an exclusive “media partnership” with the club. But The Sun was among the news organisations excluded this afternoon. Simon Bird, of the Mirror, was allowed into this afternoon’s press conference. He was one of those to condemn the alleged agreement with The Sun last year. He said last July: “No national newspapers apart from The Sun invited to interview Remy Cabella yesterday. Mike Ashley gets his cash for questions wish? “Ashley offered 'access packages' last season. Wants cosy relationship with preferred media partner to avoid criticism & help Sports Direct.” The Sun’s David Coverdale hit back today by describing the Mirror and Sky Sports News as the club’s “preferred media partners”. He tweeted: “Steve McClaren gagged from speaking to any media outlet other than @SkySportsNewsHQ and @DailyMirror - #nufc's preferred media partners... So much for a fresh start at #nufc. Their new manager isn't allowed to speak to any media outlet not in bed with Mike Ashley.” Luke Edwards, of the Telegraph, is already banned, along with his newspaper group, from the club. He tweeted this afternoon: “A little peculiar if #nufc only allowed Steve McClaren to speak to media organisations they deemed to be 'friendly' today. Surely not?!” He added: “McClaren won't be holding a press conf Only speaking to carefully selected media partners. Real shame, missed opportunity for fresh start.” Edwards said the "worst thing" is that the local media were also excluded. The move was also widely condemned by a number of other sports journalists. Matt Lawton, the Daily Mail's chief sports reporter, tweeted: "Steve McClaren needs to show some balls here and demand all media outlets are invited to his unveiling. Already looks weak against Ashley." The Mail's North East football correspondent Craig Hope said: "There will be no independent media interviews with new NUFC boss Steve McClaren. Preferred partners (Sky & Daily Mirror) only." The Independent's Tom Peck said: "Newcastle United barring all but 2 media outlets from McClaren unveiling. To quote @BumbleCricket: 'It's not the media, it's the fans.'"

Pathetic. Same old shite - nothing changes.

Who gives a fuck what Redknapp thinks? He's a fucking cockwomble.
-
Well, I didn't see this news coming. I hope they were binned via a mobile phone call.
-
How come Alex Song is getting loads of stick online - did he make an arse of himself? (didn't watch)

It's what happens when rats get caught. They all turn on each other to save their own skin.

Is there any chance Platini could be dragged into this, particularly if there were bribes handed out for France 98?
-
What lessons? Don't want to sound like a dick but the club is set up to stay in the Premier League, which it did. There's nothing credible to suggest Ashley desires anything other than more of the same. 3 relegation scraps in 7 years show that they aren't learning. It's all about hitting the bottom line, spending as little cash as possible whilst continuing to openly lie to supporters, offering hope..... when there is none.
-
A brave new world then eh?! Not much! Lessons not being learned again - more of the same, which is what most of us knew would happen.

Mike Ashley Lies @MikeAshleyLies 1h1 hour ago Look forward to the audio being released via nufc tv. Anthony Marshall @antmarshallNUFC @MikeAshleyLies That would be impossible, given the age/style of dictaphone. However, feel free to come to the office to listen to it. Laughable.
-
Shameful PR from the club - just when you think they can't take the piss any more too. Mike Ashley is the Tory party's wet dream - a self made man who has built his empire on the backs of others through exploitation and treating people like shite. He runs NUFC the same way. Nothing changes. Makes that interview before the west ham game se more vacuous than we at first believed. Jonas though - a good man and true professional. let's up some of the national media puck up on this and run with it.
-
Anyone genuinely surprised? I'm not! Nothing changes man - club is ran by and populated with cowards. No decency or dignity among them :-(

I saw a vid earlier on today, with some lads scrapping on inside the ground - was told they were Leeds Rhinos fans. Looked a bit handbags, but still not good!
