  1. Top work from The Chron. Shame about the neer-do-wells commenting on FB though.
  2. A new ground was mooted on land beside the Civic Centre, apparently - but some locals (I think the Jewish community) objected. Stand to be corrected though.
  3. Depends if they make it. I can imagine a fair few mags and mackems will be heading down to Wembley. If Gatehead go up, then who knows? They seem to have a good young side, with some ex Newcastle kids and a decent manager in Gary Mills.
  4. Graham Wood has backed Gateshead with money, since their Evo-Stick Premier League days. Think he used to be on the mackems' board. What Goatsheed have in their favor is they do go up, is that a lot of apathetic Mags might decide to switch to following them to reconnect with football. Personally I won't, as I'm a Blyth sympathizer. I think the Heed has got everything in place to make a good go at League 2.
  5. Gateshead 3-1! Off to Wembley!
  6. Marwood scores a belter - 2-1 the Heed.
  7. Grimsby down to 9 men. Hatton sent off for 2 yellows. If the Heed don't win now, they want shot!
  8. Grimsby level - Disley.
  9. Goatsheed goal disallowed for offside. Think Grimsby are down to 10 men too.
  10.  What a f***ing legend. He was more animated today than most fans around us. When the anti-Pardew stuff was going around many looked at him for a reaction and he just shrugged as if to say "what is, is what is". I think he has had a decent relationship with Pardew at some point, but its obviously diminished and massively so. All throughout today he demonstrated a kind of affinity with the fans and a general downbeat kind of sadness that he was in the stands rather than out there on the pitch. When people were chanting his name he showed a degree of humility by nodding and thanking fans for their support. Its the way he dealt with the stewards and other officials that impressed me though, they wanted him to return to in doors and he was having none of it, they also wanted him to refuse to sign things and to get involved with photos, but he was defiant and made many a fans' day, especially my mate's bairn who apparently, even at this late hour, won't shut up about meeting Ben Arfa and getting his sig. That's what footy should be about, capturing the hearts and imagination of people, especially bairns who don't see the malaise or negativity, they go for the players, to cheer on their hero or heroes. In Ben Arfa we have just that kind of player and he is sat in the stands. Its criminal. Pardew should be sacked for that alone. I'm a big fan of him as a footballer, and an even bigger fan as a character after witnessing some of the things I saw today. Terrific
  11. Nout will happen, as such things have happened before and bugger all was done. I imagine the club will now try to impose banning orders on these lads.
  12. They are awful, since when are banners so bad. Do we not have a right to show our feelings? Fans make a club what it is, do we not have the rights to show our feelings? Club is ran like North Korea. Dissent and free speech are not tolerated!
  13. So he is hiding behind the team. Is he telling the players that we are booing him because of them? That's what it seems.
  14. Pardew; "Tough game - Cardiff had nout to lose. Started well - played some good stuff first half. Difficult environment - difficult for players, said he wouldn't have liked to play in it. Krul and Tiote we excellent. Enjoyed the professionalism on the pitch. Carver giving out orders - he decided to stay sitting down. Pleased to see Taylor score at the end. Pleased for the club and all who work here - wanted the players to do the staff who work at the ground proud. Was worried that goings off with folk leaving would detract from the players - thanks the players for playing through it. Says the team haven't won enough fans back yet, but it's a small step. Summer recruitment is important. Says the team owe the fans a performance at Liverpool (!) and also 'the league'. Wants to give a good account and hopefully take some points. Taylor coming out with a load of shite on Total Sport.

  16. Fucking cretin. Don't think I've ever heard a manager talk as much shite as this clown does. Still lying and totally deluded. Still texts on TS supporting Pardew.
  17. Ando agreed with me that Pardew is under severe pressure. Stopped short of saying he should go though.
  18. I can only hope that he does go. I guess we'll see. A battering at Anfield next week can only help.
  19. Sadly, I don't think he will go now. It's a case of job done for Ashley, and that's all that matters. Supporters did what they had to, today however. Respect for that.
  20. Unfortunately, I now think he will keep his job. Club will go into full PR overdrive and say it's a case of 'job done'. Can't finish any lower than 10th, I believe.
