I know it's the Mail, but worth sharing; http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/foo...#ixzz2gSidsn7D Ashley joined Kinnear at Everton as Toon fans suffered... but are they listening? By DOMINIC KING The game had just been effectively taken from their reach when the chant erupted. Having travelled 190 miles to watch their team perform atrociously for 45 minutes, the Newcastle supporters let their feelings be known. 'We want our money back!' they hollered repeatedly, as Everton celebrations following Ross Barkley’s splendid second goal subsided. Then, as Romelu Lukaku sauntered on to a Tim Howard’s long ball to grab his second goal of the night, those housed in the corner of the Bullens Road stand turned their attentions elsewhere. ' You cockney b*******! Get out of our club!' they exclaimed. No prizes for guessing who the invective was reserved for. Visits from Newcastle United used to be colourful, enjoyable occasions. You were guaranteed an entertaining, keenly contested game and the supporters who ventured down from the Northeast would add to the occasion. The Newcastle United of 2013, however, is very different to the one that went before. Though there was an impressive rally when substitute Yohan Cabaye and Loic Remy gave hope of an improbable comeback, it should not mask the lack of quality and passion in Newcastle’s play at Goodison Park. Standing in his technical area, running his hands through his hair and scribbling observations in a little black note book, Alan Pardew looked forlorn, at the end of his tether in the first half. He needs all the help he can get from his players but, here, none was forthcoming. It hasn’t been for months. With owner Mike Ashley and Director of Football Joe Kinnear watching and scrutinising events, seemingly waiting to be given any excuse to relieve him of his duties, results and performances as bad as the first 45 minutes only serve to make Pardew’s position even less secure. But if they do happen to get rid of Pardew, what good would that do this lumbering giant of a club? The away end was far from full at Goodison, seeming to suggest the fans that used to travel in droves are growing weary of the continual soap opera that dogs their club. Newcastle could be a real force with the right investment. Their stadium is fantastic, the city would come alive if success came their way and the history of the club should both attract good players and make them proud to play for ‘The Toon’. For some risible reason, however, the current regime appears happy for it to sink slowly away. Do Ashley and Kinnear have any genuine desire to see Newcastle compete? Do they understand the frustration and hurt their actions are generating? If they hadn’t before, the situation should have become loud and clear after Barkley’s effort had rippled beyond Tim Krul. There was a crumb of consolation with the second half performance but not enough to make the journey home pleasant. They deserve so much better.

Rotten and lacking ambition/nous. -
He needs to go, but he won't. For a team that is said to spend 80% of training on defending, our defence is a joke and has been for a long time. The man is a fraud.

Improved second half should not be allowed to paper over the cracks. Whole team, especially the back 4 lack leadership and have no clue what they are supposed to be doing. That said, the manager has them playing with fear from the off and it happens way too often. Big problems at this club, not as bad as the mackems....yet.

Disgraceful tonight. A clueless and gutless showing. Team same as their manager. Zero pride - so another dark day for this club.
-
BD. For a so-called hot bed of football, the way the fans of both clubs have been treat in recent years is little short of a disgrace.
-
Mackems getting 'horsed'.
-
Suarez- was always gonna score.
-
Scousers 1-0 up. Sturridge

I think more awareness could do with being raised about this advertising mularky, I'll ring in Total Sport about it this week, if I can. It is a 'scam' - no doubt about it. Unforunately Newcastle is now just a part of Sports Direct, with the club receiving no benefit from that 'partnership'.

Short asking the players who they want? That will end well!

Not surprised at all - it'what many of us have known for some time. Am amazed that some still refuse to see it though. One question - where is all of the income going to go (TV money) if Ashley only wants the 'loan' back if and when he sells? Sounds fishy to me. -
He, Ashley and Kinnear will be feeling relieved at the moment, because di Canio's sacking has shifted the focus away from Newcastle - for the time being.
-
Merlin. I hope this blows up in the mackems faces, ultimately - because they should have never appointed him in the first place. Sadly I believe they will get the new manager bounce just in time for the derby. And there will be Pardew's ready made excuse.
-
Pardew's HT team-talks are a major issue and have been for a long time. Just what the **** is being said in the dressing room? I'd also suggest that there is a lack of leadership on the pitch, big time at the moment. Colo leads by example and has never been that vocal. We need someone who will kick backsides on the field, but who's going to do that? Not Colo or Cabaye!

Pardew; Complacency when we went in front and we couldn't get back into it when they equalized. Poor decision making in the 2nd half- "Hull did a good job - worker harder than Newcastle". Tried to tighten up distances between midfield/defence at half time. Lacking consistency on performances. Refusing to be drawn on Cisse's form - will keep those thoughts to himself. Remy - unlucky to not get hattrick. Remy one of the few bright spots on a poor day. Third goal knocked the stuffing out of the team.

He was poor today - but not alone in that.
