  1. Obertan will continue in his recent vein. How many ex Man United players have a blinder when they come up against their old side? They all normally bend over and this lad will be no different.

When we've slipped out of contention for 7th is a fair shout given that most of the people having a go now didn't give us a cat in hell's chance of finishing top 10 back in August. We won't finish top 10 if this slide isn't arrested though! Fair enough, we've played some 'big sides' but that's no excuse for poor tactics and choices. He has to take some of the blame, as he took some of the credit when we had our good run.
  3. Can't see anything other than a comfortable Man United win, at the moment sadly.

Course he deserves some criticism, but the majority is pathetic tbh. He wasn't Mourinho when we went close to 20 games unbeaten from our last trip to Anfield, same way he's hardly Souness now. Questions have to be asked though surely? Our good start to the season could be in real danger of being pissed away.

Also - Man United (despite their injuries) will destroy us next Wednesday night if he repeats tonight's formula again. The fact we are at home may mean that he has to be braver. We have little to lose in actually having a go and trying to play some football.

Poor choices and tactics today and as well as he has done (in general) he has to take the criticism when it rightly comes for what has been a poor run of form. He's having to continue showing faith in players who are not doing it, because there is no other option. The squad needs some significant strengthening but we all know it's not going to happen. A mid-table finish is the maxium that we can hope for under this regime and that's where we will end up if we do not invest.
  7. Sounds like our ball retention has been woeful (which is nothing new in recent games) Vuckic looking lost in an unfamiliar role, Obertan not in it and Ryan Taylor looking like a fish out of water. That said, doesn't appear that Liverpool have the nous at the moment to take advantage of it.
  8. I'd happily take a point now, if offered although I do think we'll lose (such is our record there) I'd hope that Williamson looks after Carroll and Colo on Bellamy, but the latter may well need some help on that due to Bellamy's elusiveness. We really need Tiote and Cabaye to impose themselves from the off, to stand a chance of getting something. I'd also like to see Ben Arfa start off Ba (as most of would)
  9. Nout new for non-league strikers to be taken on trial now and then by us lot. Off the top of my head, I can remember Richie Bond from Blyth (under Ossie), Lee Kerr (Whitley Bay) and John Milner (ex Bedlington) It's a good opportunity for the lad and I wish him all the best. If it doesn't work out here then the media attention might fetch some football league clubs his way.
  10. Midds - the Carroll money should still be there, should it not? Unless of course it has left the club by now for places unknown...... When are the club accounts due again?
  11. Not surprised in the least by Pardew's comments. There is an opportunity to push this club on, with a bit of investment. Ashley unwilling to do it though.
  12. Just been on 5Live (not sure if has been posted on here) apparently Paul Merson said on Soccer Saturday that Ba should leave us for Villa, because 'they are a bigger club'. Where does Merson's hatred of us come from?
  13. Good win and the Boxing Day jinx is over too. Pardew needs to start at Liverpool on Friday.
  14. Game is there for the taking - but some players are showing a lack in confidence and belief.
