    Dennis Wise

It really hasn't. He's (Executive) Director of Football for us and reports to Ashley. If he isn't involved with player recruiment then in that role he is responsible for it so has failed to get in the players Keegan needed. Keegan said he wanted 4 players a week ago and got 2. How much more proof do you want.

    Dennis Wise

It has been proved that Dennis Wise has failed to do his job properly to the level needed. If Keegan is in charge of first team affairs and Wise in charge of recruitment then if Keegan says we need four players in these positions then Wise should get them. It didn't happen. Instead we tried to offload players we couldn't afford to lose during the closing of the window. I am not talking about them being good they are bodies to rely on if and when needed (we only had Barton as a proven PL player as a sub at Arsenal along with Bassong) whilst fielding a not match fit Ameobi. Trying to sell playings when in this position was madness. Instead we should have invested the Milner money and other funds on the players / positions we need. We didn't. 4 points out of 9 is a good return considering we have playe Man U and Arsenal in our opening 3 games. Keegan has proved he can do his job probably by saving us from relegation last season. Wise had his chance and failed BIG time IMO and if that Lambias (sp.) bloke is taking the side of Wise then Ashley needs to wake up, smell the coffee and get rid of them both and let Keegan get on with his job. I am not saying the DOF system thing we have would not work I thinks it's a good idea but trying to sell players when our squad was sooo small was sheer madness.
  5. Don't go Kev I for one want you to stay. It seems the board/club have put the ball in his court now and I think we need to show how much we want him to continue to be our manager. The football is the best it has been for along time and I hope to God he stays as I can only see good times for us from now on. Come'on guys lets show him our support
  6. Listen lads this is a load of nonsence what I can tell you is last week Ashley bought 5 billion replacement keyboard "F5" keys. He's now in a position where in the next week or so he will become the richest man on the planet as no keyboard the world over has not had its F5 key worn out in the last 24 hours. With no other stocks of F5 keys available anywhere even those rich guys over at DIC will be forced to buy new ones at inflated prices. Genius. (on a serious note I really hope this isn't true)
  7. Biggest transfer activity all day tbh. Signing on fee? Might get a free BJ the morra ... its our 1 year anniversary How romantic I am taking it with a pinch of salt as I am not ITK at this moment in time (she might have a "headache")

  9. I have just transferred a can of stella for a nice glass of castillo de diablo with the missus. Seemed like a good deal so dead chuffed!
  10. I suggested him a while ago cracking player much better than what we have already but loadsa people said "too old".
  11. My thoughts exactly! If they have sold Milner for 12m and not got anyone BETTER lined up I will be very dissapointed.
  12. If Lennon had Milner's footballing brain he would be a good player as he is quick and direct. unfortunately he doesn't posses a footballing brain and he was so good today he actually ran the ball out of play (without any pressure) once and even left it behind whilst running which was hilarious. I would say no to that one.
  13. Possibly helped but he also feel out with them over refusing to take part in training sessions and going AWOL for an UEFA cup game claiming to be at the African nations. Not someone I want at our club (those actions seem really mature).
  14. Is anyone happy signing a Spurs reject and two unknowns (one who has just literally been signed by a club then loaned out)?? I am not. I expect to see the 12m Milner money invested along with a few more million on players saying as we have probably made a net profit from selling/buying players this summer despite our squad being so threadbare. Spurs reject? In the same way that Guthrie was a Liverpool reserve? Come off it. Just because a player isn't one managers cup of tea doesn't mean they will be a "failure" everywhere they play. As for unknown, had you heard of Jonas? I hadn't. Atouba was laughable just ask Spurs supporters. Guthrie was a total different kettle of fish he did well last year for Bolton and actually was RATED by liverpool fans he was never going to get ahead of Gerrard, Alonso or Mascherano though. Jonas yes I had seen on Sky a few times but no I wouldn't have suggested him to sign. I would always look to find diamonds that don't cost much but the fact of the matter is we need players that can make an impact and proven not just those who MIGHT be ok.

  16. What? Did you just contradict yourself in the same sentence? Me and my dad were talking to him outside the bar yesterday, he said those words 'dont expect a gutierrez or coloccini type of player, theres none out there in the market' believe what the f*** you want, im not lying. If that is true then there is something wrong at theclub because keegan seems to think he will be able to invest the 12m from the Milner sale in to new signings so i am expecting some decent players come in before the window closes.
  17. Taylor standing off way too much needs to put a tackle in (whilst not being nut-megged)
  18. Gone are Emre, Carr, Ramage, Diatta and Faye so far, we've brought in Coloccini, Gutierrez, Bassong and Guthrie. I would say we have brought in more than we've lost when looking at the quality of those who have been brought in and how much those leaving would have played. Yes but now all you need is a few injuries and we will be playing the kids. I am not a pessimistic person by nature but keegan is saying the players want more bodies in, so does he so we'll wait and see,
  19. I guarantee you that if you stopped 10 Villa fans in the street and asked them what they thought about our transfer activity, 8 of them would say that MON needs to stop f***ing about and start spending. Last year we hardly pushed the boat out. Our net spend was pretty small, certainly lower than most. This year we've spent a little more but the fact is we are still at the very least 4 players short of what we need to get by. The fact is it is very, very hard to sign players these days. If you're not in the CL, you're competing against a lot of other clubs. Having the money is no guarantee that you're going to get what you want. Much as people talk about crowds or tradition or potential or anything, for the majority of players there's not a whole lot between clubs like Villa, Newcastle, Everton, Spurs, even Portsmouth, Blackburn and West Ham. They're all competing for the same players. If you think Ashley isn't prepared to spend money, then why did you offer what you did for Modric? Why would he have spent so much on the club and sorting out the debts only to watch it stagnate? Having a lot of money behind you these days is not enough. You can't go out and buy success of the shelf. Everyone has money these days, things are an awful lot harder. Top post. Will go straight over some posters heads though unfortunately. I do agree with some of that but the fact that our board has let so many players go without having deals lined up. It wasn't like it was a last minute thing we knew they going. Maybe we were naive I don't know but as I said I will reserve judgement till the close of the window.
  20. Oh do be quiet. Quality post your batteries must have died in your keyboard. My keyboard is wired, genius. But you still but batteries in though err no? I wasn't talking about his keyboard but that big rubbery thing his lass uses whilst he makes smart a**e remarks on forums. P.S Wor lass is in bed sh***ed out by ME

  22. eh? Sorry I am posting in other topics too. Basically I look at Lerner who is valued at half (if that) of Ashley's wealth yet Villa have invested 10m in two full backs, 8m in Cuellar and now 12m on Milner (possibly). We seem to be trying to do things on the cheap (take Jonas and Guthrie and the arsing about on Colo over 1-2m for example). Lerner is telling MO to spend whereas we seem to be pussy footing around. How much do you think Jonas would be worth without this Webster ruling? Didn't his club turn down around £8m 6 months ago? Just because we haven't paid vast sums it doesn't mean we haven't bought in quality players. I do think we need 3-4 more but I am very happy with the 4 we have brought in. Hopefully there will be more before the end of the transfer window. I aint critising but would agree with you totally however every man and his dog must know we need 3-4 players and sometimes you just have to pay over the odds. I think if we have the backing we should invest it to push on. If Villa want to pay 12m million it just shows what we are up against.

  24. We're owned by the Lerner family trust, which is run by Randy Lerner, his sister and his mother. When daddy Lerner karked it, the three of them got 2bn dollars each, and Randy also got the Browns, valued at not much short of a billion dollars. Money isn't an issue. Its all very well going on about "buying players the way Villa are" but in the last year we've bought Marlon Harewood and Zat Knight. In the January window the only player we signed was Wayne Routledge. We've been heavily linked with Kevin Doyle. How would you have reacted to any of that at Newcastle? Too easy to say the grass is greener elsewhere. With a paper thin squad last year, we've bought 7 players since, but have shipped 6 out, so we're only 1 up on where we were. Also this talk of Man City, would you really want your club run like that? Players bought on the never never in a desperate attempt to keep up appearances? No ta. Nope but to be fair if that is true then fine. However, its well reported that MO pussy foots around when it comes to transfers. How much did the lad from WBA cost you, 8-10m?? I am concerned at the penny pinching at out club which includes the likes the of coaches leaving and not being replaced. Seems daft IMO but like I said I reserve judgement till the window shuts.
