Lets not forget how well we performed under the constraints of ashley Not a lover by any means but it is amazing how well human beings respond to change despite not wanting it in the majority of cases.

I don't know if there is more uproar when he is going then when he signed. QPR ffs joey

Selling players like Andy Carroll doesn't help. Indeed not, but not many clubs can turn down that sort of money. Besides that, let's not kid ourselves. If Carroll's development didn't stall and he became a top striker, he was never going to be ours for very long anyway and we probably wouldn't have gotten 35m for him if we sold him later. Speaking of Carroll he has been awful recently. Got halled off early against arsenal. They are already complaining about how he makes them play long ball football. Not his fault, but it could mean his rapid transition to the bench. Aye, I see kenny's even resorted to blaming himself for his dip in form.

Yip. The big mular for football clubs comes from TV revenue, ticket sales, sponsorship etc. The 500k or so each place is worth in terms of prize money is miniscule in the grander scheme of things. It's something that I honestly think is going to happen with every club in the league pretty much. Man United, Liverpool, City and Chelsea have the funding to splash big, Arsenal and Spurs are ran well enough as businesses to cling onto their tails. Everybody else is set to be stuck behind a glass ceiling that is pointless to try and break through, because it would take an absolute fortune just to get close. Look at Villa for example, they're seemingly cutting their cloth accordingly now. 2 biggest players out for close to £40 million, one replacement in - now McLeish has been told to work with what he's got. The depressing reality is the league is going to be completely split in two from now on and the big money men are heading abroad to purchase clubs where success is easier to buy. Where do you think our TV revenue, ticket sales, sponsorship money etc is going? Maybe trying to get the overdraft down.

A striker / winger who has played more on the left hand side. Wasn't it barnetta who was said to be barons replacement earlier in the summer? He's played on the right wing for us in both his games so far. There is no way Ashley will go out and spend £5m on Barnetta having just spent £3.5m on Obertan. He played right wing for just over a half vs Arsenal. #pedant Where did barton play then? For me he replaced Ba and played a little more centrally than right wing. He even chased that ball down against sagna who plays left back.

His baggage is hardly a burden on us now though. And we'll not replace him on a free thats for sure. Really so his Twitter statements aren't an issue then? Or the controversy in the arsenal game where his actions got the club fined? If he does sign for them I am really looking forward to his tweets regarding our club His twitter statements were hardly damaging to the club, Mike Ashley's stupid idea of transfer listing him for free however is. And the club was fined (did we win the appeal or not?) because other players got involved, not because Joey Barton picked a player up by his shirt. It's a bit shady when folk are slamming him for a yellow card offence during a game like. That last bit is only your opinion. Graham poll said he would have sent him off for it. Is he shady too then? No, but he's an attention seeking media whore and a s*** ref to boot. I also remember from numerous Setanta games, he hates Joey Barton. But the point being he has an opinion just like any other ref who, considering bartons past, could have also sent him off for his actions.

Carries to much baggage, that is why he left man city, hasn't been near the England squad even when in good form, and one of the reasons no top club is in for him. QPR is the only club to show an interest which sums the situation up. Good player with a lot of baggage who is replacable.
-
For me, if he goes, its who comes in to replace him. A good player but he has this uncontrollable nutter streak in him. Last season it was a punch in the stomach, this season he's already kicked off with arsenal which could have seen himself sent off.
-
Okay Ryan u may have scored today but don't take the piss like
-
Not one of his best games today for me. Gave some sloppy passes and almost set up signission (sp) with a perfect assist. That un-marked header too.
-
People may mock him for not being the next Ronald but the lad works hard for the shirt and hasn't been that bad considering the opposition and even got us three points today so I ain't gonna complain
-
Tiote lost the ball loads too in a lot of bad positions. He pisses about sometimes too much with it
-
Really? He played the ball so perfect in to the path of their player it was on a plate for their best shot of the game and gave another ball about 3 ft short for r Taylor which again caused us problems.
-
For all the Ryan Taylor haters out there he at least was better than Tiote and Colo today both these players had games to forget

Just looked on their forum and it looks like they are getting santon ... http://forum.olweb.fr/showthread.php?t=148333

It's the biggest daily newspaper in France, and it's mainly a political newspaper, not sure what's it's normally like for sport however but would seem a bit weird for them to make it up. So a tad reputable, that's enough for me!

Gerrin, how reliable is the source?

Don't blame him. Of course you don't, it's every Newcastle supporters dream to w*** over the glory of the Mersey legends Their owners are showing more ambition than ours. End of. If you call spunking way too much money on players ambition then yes. Only the Suarez and Enrique fees were sane figures imo f***ing irrelevant, tbh. The fact that they are spending money on bringing new players to the club is a sign of ambition. At this moment in time, we can't compete with them. Enrique said it himself ffs - "Liverpool and Newcastle fight for different things. Liverpool want to be in the top four and Newcastle want to stay in the division. I think that is different." It's not irrelevant though. Signing players for silly money won't get then 4 th no matter what players say Personally I think we ll do well with the players we aquired including one Liverpool wanted, just without spending half our annual turnover on them like Liverpool have
-
Don't blame him. Yeah, think he should put in a transfer request now. Wouldn't begrudge him in the slightest. In fact, I think they should all go, and Pardew and his team as well, should never have come to us as we're totally s***. In fact, I think we should get rid of the club, total embarrassment to the city, wouldn't begrudge the demolition men in the slightest (though to be honest we're probably not good enough for them, they probably think we're small fry with our lop sided mess). In fact, f*** Newcastle full stop. If we can't persuade a left back to stay in the city rather than go to traditional giants like Liverpool waving wedge in his face and an unarguably greater chance of National recognition whether they're in Europe or not, we should just give up, burn it to the ground, and move to Wearside. BottledDog's post needs to be framed and hung on the walls here. I know it's a British thing to put ourselves down, but we really need to remember what club we support at times. Maybe we should take the same approach to politics. Abolish elections, if anyone criticizes the government, mock them for being a whinging c*** and tell them to shut the f*** up, they could live in Zimbabwe and don't know how good they've got it. ...or you could be called wullie and support man city yet still moan about how bad it is at the club.

much like trying to steal from a beggar but get chase away by him In a way but are we really worse off though?
