No sorry, you are the one not reading things properly to suit: I said before this season. Anytime before this season when Harper has played he's not been solid or excellent. Fair enough he's needed a run, but do you remember the last time he had a run? Do you wonder why fans who can remember that time actually hold Given in such high regard? Thought not. If you think i was talking about this start of the season then you sir are the idiot.

I SAID BEFORE THIS SEASON! Are you thick as fuk or blind or a bit of both? FFS man. Chill man. Does anyone else remember the two periods under Gullit & SBR? He was terrible. But a lot of people were forgiven due to not expecting much and the fact he's a local lad and deserved his chance, the exact same reason SBR gave him that extended chance at Given's expense. Fuking dicks banging on about Alonso's goal FFS like thats the only time he's ever done fuk all wrong, honestly man. He wasn't terrible though, he was solid enough with a few mistakes early on which were understandable having not been playing regular first team football, same with his fuck ups at Spurs and Liverpool in recent years. He was.

I SAID BEFORE THIS SEASON! Are you thick as fuk or blind or a bit of both? FFS man. No you idiot , what you said is that he's been bad every season appart from this one. That's entirely different to when you then said "do you remember the last time he had a run in the team".. which actually was at the start of this season.. You might not want to question other people's knowledge when you obviously can't remember yourself.. I've been banging on about 'apart from this season' from the off in this thread you moron, you even commented on it. Jesus fuking wept. Its also what started this whole disagreement, so why would i include anything to do with this season? Idiot.

No its not. And the reason why he's been happy to sit on the bench for so long as he's not been good enough to command a 1st team spot for the best part of his career, here or at any other regular EPL club. Yes.. it is. Either you're massively under rating Harper, or massively ove rating the rest of the leagues keepers, or a bit of both. I mean common, take a look around at the Premiership and check out some of the keepers you claim would definitely keep Harper out.. Was the first time you saw Harper the time when he slipped and got beaten by that long range shot against Liverpool or what? Because appart from that he's been solid to excellent every time he's been called upon. I said before this season. Anytime before this season when Harper has played he's not been solid or excellent. Fair enough he's needed a run, but do you remember the last time he had a run? Do you wonder why fans who can remember that time actually hold Given in such high regard? Thought not. He was pretty solid a good few years ago when he kept Given out the side for a while and Given handed in a transfer request as a result. Given was injured and lost his place, Harper was playing average, nothing great but the manager wanted to reward him, he was actually falling apart by the time Given handed in his request, and a match or so later he himself was injured and Given returned. Harper did a decent job in that spell tbh, perfectly solid, to say he was falling apart is just utter bollocks. No he didn't, he was average at best. 90% of toon fans couldn't wait till Given was back in the net, i do actually remember this quite well, obviously you don't. I wanted Given back in net like most because Given was a far superior player to Harper at the time, but Harper was solid enough, he has improved a little since then while Given has gone backwards since Marlon Harewood almost killed him. Given is on the worst form of his life (inc injuries) while Harper is in the best form of his life. The quality difference between the two remain even if the form of both have levelled out or have even swapped. I'd start Harper over Given now, and probably for next season, but Harper is peaking and coming of age, finally, Given when he settles down and comes out of this period will be by far the superior keeper, people need to remember this, seems like a lot are forgetting.

Would give up football if those happened. Darren Bent for £7m? You must be daft, that would be a great move. Agree with the rest.

Trannies Blame Ronaldo For Motel Bust-Up http://news.sky.com/skynews/picture_gallery/0,,30200-1314438,00.html Updated:17:01, Tuesday April 29, 2008 Three transvestites have accused Brazilian football star Ronaldo of threatening to harm them after discovering they were men at a Rio de Janeiro motel. http://static.sky.com/images/pictures/1673931.jpg Two of the transvestites Police said they were also looking into an accusation by the 31-year-old player that one of the three men tried to extort 50,000 reais (about £15,000) from him. The AC Milan forward - a three times World Player of the Year - claims the man threatened to go to the media about the incident unless he paid up. Ronaldo, who is back in his hometown recovering from an injury, left a nightclub in the posh Barra da Tijuca neighbourhood early on Monday. According to police, he was with three call girls but later found out they were men. He then offered each of them about £300 to wrap up the matter, but only two of them accepted the deal, officers continued. "I have to check both sides of the story, the transvestites' version and Ronaldo's," police chief Carlos Augusto Nogueira said. "Ronaldo said he is not good in the head and that he is going through psychological problems because of his recent surgery." In a statement, Ronaldo said he was a victim of extortion and would take all possible steps to clear his name, according to Globo television network website. Representatives for Ronaldo were not immediately available for comment. The player suffered a career-threatening knee injury in February in a match against Livorno. Ronaldo suffered a similar injury in his right knee when playing for Inter Milan in 2000.

He's young though, the talent is obvious, maybe his decision making hasn't matured yet, but did you expect it to be? I don't think he thinks about it too much, its all natural talent, right now that talent can choose the wrong pass or make him go for glory.

Which is great considering were not in E2008

Carson is shite. If you'd asked me if I'd have swapped him for Harper for the rest of the season a few months ago, I'd have had your hand off. He also doesn't want to be second fiddle anywhere, so he won't want to stay there. Weren't you during the transfer (winter) window you were hoping for a double swoop (£20m IIRC) for him and Crouch? I said I'd heard there was going to be one, not that i was hoping for it (although Crouch I would). Carson was fine till his England cock up, and since then has been woeful. Robinson style fall from grace. TBF Harper has been terrible for years. he's been average at the very best until this season. If Liverpool want him as backup (and i think he might possibly want to go because he was a pool fan as a lad) then i'd happily take Carson off their hands. Harper at Carson's age was comical.

Come on the scum hold on!!!

Couple of weeks old now this news, i reckon there's fuk all in it, Liverpool would be crazy to get rid of Carson, they might as well let him challenge Reina, he'd have his spot imo.
-
Still think Park here would be a good signing, some people reckon he's not good enough for us though.
-
Not in today's market. When you consider we shifted Dyer and Parker for about £14m, £9.5m for them two is about right. It doesn't matter how bad your shit smells, as long as it comes from an English arse its worth its weight in gold.
-
what i was going to say, he got attacked therefore he's trouble? What would you say If Steven Taylor went out drinking in Sunderland after we just beat them 2-0 and got into a fight that he didn't start? I'd call him a fuking fool tbh, and that he brought it on himself. Lad should show more common sense than to do that.
-
Wishful thinking. If we can get £6m for him then fine its unfair to stop him moving to a club like manu at his age. We paid nearly £3m for him so double our money seems ok to me.
