  1. Geremi/Emre are perhaps a little unlucky to lose out to Barton based on Reading, although Barton has extenuating circumstances that can only be solved by playing regular first team football.
  2. So Beye, Geremi, Martins and Emre have all been dropped. Fair, or unfair?
  3. EDIT: Rozehnal has a bib on. A yellow bib, not an orange bib. ...same as Enrique. Who wears an orange bib in another session. There seem to be two sessions on a Friday, one with orange bibs, one with yellow, and apart from the once (after internationals, game on a Monday), the orange bibs do seem to give a good indication.

  5. This weeks 'Orange Bib' prediction: Harper Taylor Faye Cacapa Enrique Milner Barton Butt N'Zogbia Smith Owen
  6. He is said to have made disparaging remarks about certain Newcastle players to any average Joe he met in the pub, so I'm pleased to see the back of him.
  7. Relocation of Leazes Terrace? Or of the whole club? I suspect (hope) you mean the latter. The latter. Ah, I retract my earlier comment in that case. Personally I don't see the problem, we are not desperate for a new stadium nor are we likely to be in the foreseeable future. Then I retract my reply. I'd agree to leave it as it is for now, but demand will increase eventually, for Newcastle is a thriving city right now, and the most important thing about a stadium for me is that everyone who wants to watch gets to watch.
  8. If you're slightly detached from reality perhaps. Stadium changes/relocations often seem to face heated discussion amongst fans, so no changes are going to satisfy everyone. In that sense their are no ultimate rights or wrongs here, just opinions.

  10. Trouble with stadium developments is that often those paying for it see it as their long term legacy, and dont take into consideration any capacity changes that maybe needed in the future once they've gone.
  11. All the arguments on here point to relocation being the best option in the long term.
  12. Oh yeah. In that case, it has to be Michael Essien.
  13. The last three players mentioned can not play centre back by the way. Michael Essien is clearly head and shoulders above them all.
  14. No mention of CM in the OP though.... Doesn't mean he cant be a CM as well though. He is certainly a back-up right winger who can also play as a full back or centre half.

    My Interesting Day

I think you have to understand scepticism about these things though. There are so many people with supposed rumours etc all the time that are rarely true. Also I could have told you Allardyce wants Crouch playing for him ages ago. Doesn't exactly take a genius to put together the pieces of Sam liking big target men and having raved about Crouch as one of England's most effective players. He broke the news of the Smith transfer before it had become widespread knowledge. This guy does get the occassional Manchester United tidbit.

    Souness Vs Roeder

Souness has rescued Southampton from relegation, brought up and kept up Blackburn Rovers, won a few trophies in a few countries, has developed one or two very good youngsters at most of the clubs he has managed, purchased players with big reputations, and has a winning and battling mentality that rubs off on some of the players, especially the young British ones. Roeder has done none of this, and shares many of the bad attributes of Souness in addition to an inability to take the initiative.
  17. Its not Glenn Roeder. Delia Smith clearly fancies a go at the job, so has put a pair of glasses on and called herself Glenn Roeder to avoid sexism. The trick of course is that no sensible-minded manager wannabie would ever consider calling themselves Glenn Roeder.

    Nicky Butt

You're saying he's not very adaptable then and can only play one sort of game? Or that he's only a good defensive midfielder when there's not much defending to do? That he's not very adaptable. And I think the same applies to several other players in our squad. Which is why we'll be shit away from home if we play to defend draws.

    Nicky Butt

Butt comes from a play to win background, and it must be a big shock to him to play away from home and finding his team playing not to lose.
  20. I've never really looked at how they did other than when we've played them, I seem to remember somebody saying that they had a record for goals conceded which wasn't as good as ours last season although I may be wrong. Down to a very bad end of that season, but looking back at the past three seasons, they did that pretty well which was why the regularly finished in the top half.
