Duff actually looked like the old Damien Duff.
-
Duff who hasn't played for 7 months for our top scorer and Emre for Viduka who has been decent? Emre for Barton please. I cant see Viduka maintaining his high level of performance over 90 minutes. We need to restart quickly to get the best out of him.
-
Also, the number of players we've had in the final third with the ball regularly under our control in that area is insane. Bodes well for the second half if that continues. If still level at 60 minutes, I'd bring on Duff and Emre for Martins and Viduka.

I thought Derby's goal was because we were put under pressure by players not tracking back down our right hand side.

This 424 may be some cunning plan by Allardyce to try and teach Martins to stay disciplined on the right hand side.
-
It's practically 424.

It won't be you deleting this thread. Because there is no need to

I'm still sceptical about starting Viduka. Good player, good technique, good brain, but only seems to perform in the first half, or as a sub. The tactic of bringing him on when others are tiring works in my opinion. Same for Emre.

So how come we've done just as well with 4-3-3 as we have with 4-4-2? Individually certain players' games might benefit more from 4-4-2 but the team as a whole hasn't shown it can and will any more than 4-3-3 has or hasn't so I think "10 times better" is exaggerating things personally, sorry Johnny. How have we? You're going to have to explain that one to me I'm afraid. Cos we got a point against Arsenal minus their best players? Boro fucking beat them. They played 4-4-2 for the record. We've played 4-3-3 more than once. Yep. Birmingham - could have gone either way, took us a penalty and a set piece to get anything. Fulham - shite. Derby - shite. Reading - shite. Blackburn - better than previous but still poor We got well beaten. Boro - poor. Mackems - shite. Villa - you guessed it. So we've got Arsenal and one half at Bolton, Birmingham too if you push your luck. You are forgetting that the goals and better spells against Birmingham and Sunderland and Fulham occurred in 442 conditions.
-
It should be Martins losing his place to Enrique if we continue to persist with 433.
-
433 wont work with us for as long as Charle N'Zogbia plays LB and Martins plays RWF.
-
What was the name of that left-footed right-winger that played for Southampton, and who Souness tried to sign for us? (EDIT: Fabrice Fernandez???) He was better on the right than Milner is on the left.

£100 million debt meant that it was time the last board moved on.
-
When were we regulars in the top 4? There were Newcastle love-ins at Sky between about 1994-1997 and 2001-2004. It paranoia to be honest. Commentators are always going to show more approval towardsthe better teams because they play better football.

It would be great if somebody could summarise what was said.

Just looked it up, I stand corrected. As he played competative football for the U21's, he can no longer play for Nigeria. TBH, who cares? Didn't Tim Cahill get that rule rescinded? Is he playing in the ACN as well? He played a competitive game for Samoa U21s aged 14, but now plays for Australia. You only become resticted to one country if you play for the Seniors.
