No, man. He's like a fucking cockroach.
-
He's played 7 full games this season, and in terms of minutes played about the equivalent of 11 or 12 full games. Hardly a whole lot of chances is it? It's not. But what first brought him to our attention were his enthusiastic performances off the bench and one-off appearances. He's been shocking this season however you look at it: no life, none of the zip he had. If he was like that in training, I'm amazed he got into the first team at all.
-
To be honest, he doesn't deserve to play based on his performances this season. He's been one of the worst players on the pitch everytime he's played. If you thought Duff was bad, Zog was that x 10.
-
This debate has veered into the ridiculous. Let's keep the kid, give him his chance, but it's up to him to get off his arse and show what he's made of because he's gone backwards at an alarming rate this season.
-
No we didn't. We had Milner, Zoggy, Solano and Dyer who could all do a job on the wings. Milner and N'Zogbia aren't exactly bad options down th left. Considering we tried to boot Milner off to Villa, we would've been left with Luque as cover. Better than Duff tbh. Better than Duff? He's not even better than Pattison.
-
Christ almighty. He looked a prospect. He was rough as fuck, enthusiastic with pace but nowhere near the finished article and a headless chicken half the time. Let's not rewrite history and start saying his was fucking Maradona.

My point was that Duff was recognised as a top player and has played and scored at the highest level. He started the majority of matches in that first PL winning season, I think, on the right wing for most of it, scored against Barca, so I can't say how people can turn around and say he didn't have a hand in it their success or wasn't seen as a quality player when we bought him. Aye, he had a disappointing season before we bought him, but there weren't many complaining at the time.
-
I'm sitting on the fence so I can point at this thread in 2 years time when it's all gone tits up.
-
No he wasn't injured, he only got injured after the season started. We had Milner who is quite capable of playing on the left, while Dyer or Solano could then take over on the right. Meanwhile we had 1 defender with potential and a trio of CM's who can't make a good pairing between them. So a LW was the priority? I'd say it was more of the case when quality had become available, I think most people at the time said that and I was one of them I won't lie. That's only cos you're stupid tbh. And Duff is quality? Eh? Considering he's won 2 PL titles, I'd say he was better than a 19 year old who's done fuck all.
-
The fact is, he was injured so it was obvious we needed another left winger at the club anyway, for backup at the very least. Anyway, he deserves a good kicking if he thinks he has the divine right to a starting place ahead of Damien Duff, even if Duff has been poor.
-
Tbf, he is an unbelievable tosser.
-
Obviously.
-
I can see how that would be tricky...
-
Beardsley's been saying this for months, but anything can happen.
-
Tbh, I'd hate to see us use anything other than 4-4-2 at home or slight variations on that.
-
I like the random African DM. Sounds about right. Edit: Unless it's Amdy Faye, ffs.
-
No offence, but i suggest you go and get your head examined then. If Newcastle got Van Gaal as their manager, it would be an eyebrow-raising coup to say the very least.

When Freddie Fletcher took his job, Cushing was only in charge of the ticket office. But fair play to him because anyone who can go from the Seymour era & reet through to today is either good worker or a brown nose arse licking wanker of the highest order. http://www.nufc.premiumtv.co.uk/javaImages/4c/39/0,,10278~2701644,00.jpg He's obviously a spineless wanker. I remember the bit from Bobby's book where Cushing had called some underling to tell SBR to go up and see Freddy rather than having the balls to do it himself. Also, just spotted this on NUFC.com from a while back talking about Swansea at home 80/81: 'In the matchday programme club Secretary, Russell Cushing writes a stunning piece of invective entitled "Snatch of the Day". Funnily enough there's actually no mention of Cramlington, instead he launches forth on an analysis of the role of television in football. United's declining attendances are apparently not due to "hooliganism, unemployment levels or high admission costs". No, it's all down to the fact that ITV are showing highlights on a Saturday night instead of Sunday. "People cannot be blamed for not turning up at a match in these circumstances when, free of charge and in the comfort of their own homes, they can see their local club performing that same night on T.V." Talk about incisive. Newcastle's attendances fell to their lowest ever levels this season wholly due to the amount of crap served up on the pitch and the lack of vision of people like Russell Cushing. Thank goodness people like him were dispensed with some years ago. Oh, hang on a minute, wasn't he recently promoted to Chief Operations Officer...?'
-
I just had some kind of seizure reading that. Jesus fucking Christ, piss off.
-
All first team coaches and Russell Cushing.
-
'So, Tel, what do you reckon: Steve Bruce or Van Gaal?' 'Steve Bruce or who?' 'Well said, Terry. Clarkie, get Brucie on the phone! Football's coming home.'
-
Top half. Bramble and Dyer out, a good CB in plus signifcant progress being made in regards to our pathetic set-up: i.e. more than one scout for a start.
-
Just seen that FS is at that hotel near Morpeth with Lee Clark, Terry Mac, and Nigel Pearson to decide who's ganna be next manager.
-
Sorry, mate, I was nodding my head until I got to this bit: '...which is why it'd be logical for him to try to step up into the next managerial stratosphere'.
