Shite attendance last night 32K. Living up to their reputation as the "scouse mackems". -
I like the look of him. Good player who's influence on the team will grow.

Just the predictable lament from the macums that everything we've achieved is down to luck and refereeing bias while they never get any. Oh..... and of course O'Neill is still the best manager on the planet despite playing turgid dreary football and not having won for 13 games. Of course they're gonna hammer us again and they're already booking their buses for Wembley. Not to mention an early and very long thread about the only game and team who can ever fill the SoS. I bet you wrote that without even looking. aye, just another typical day down in cyber chicken town. -
Like any good pro, disappointed when he's not in the starting eleven I'd imagine.

..... or whether he should have taken a six iron instead of a seven on that par three...
-
The way he hung for the chest pass was reminiscent of the way he did it when he scored that superb goal against the macums in the 5-1. Anyone notice after Ba put it away Shola temporarily turned right to celebrate before realisng Ba and everyone else had turned left to the fans :-)

I think the point is that the two decisions which cost Everton were hairline and at normal speed were understandable mistakes. The two decisions against us were shocking as they were as clear as daylight and just pure incompetence. Entirely predictable however that the decisions that went in our favour are the only ones being discussed at large. -
Did excetionally well when he was sold short by a back pass which he looked second best for, as well.

As contraversial "over the line" decisions go, it was as marginal as it can get. The ball was never clearly over the line and even after multi TV camera angles it didn't look that conclusive. Maybe a goal but very understandable that it wasn't given. As you say the two worst decisions of the night were giving the free kick that led to the goal in the first place and stopping our attack in full flow as they were clear as daylight. -

Lost in all the "Everton was robbed" nonsense being spouted in the media is the fact that we were on the receiving end of the only truly awful decision when Ben Arfa was through. There was no doubt about that one and it was a shocking piece of refereeing. For the two incidents the press prefer to seize on, the offside was by consensus too difficult to call, and for the "goal" the free kick they were awarded prior to it was quite simply NOT a free kick. The ball may have been over the line but it wasn't as if there was clear daylight as there has been in other "over the line" cock ups. Overall great result, a very ballsy second half performance, especially considering the players we are missing which gives us something to build on going forward. Thought Pardew was spot on in his post match interview, telling it like it was and being very honest. Thought overall that Sky's coverage was very biased towards them. -
You what!? I understand sentimentality and all that, but that is just plain nonsense. Aye alreet, if Harper hadn't been playing we'd have won 2-0. You happy now?
-
He's getting on, his best days may be behind him and Krul is undoubtedly a better keeper (indeed Krul is far better than most other keepers) but some of the "scapegoatism" being dished out on here is a joke, as well as being pretty disrespectful to a great club servant and sportsman. He did nowt wrong tonight, made a couple of decent saves and came of his line very well to save us once. Very few keepers could have done anything about their goals. Harper has never let Newcastle down.

Everton vs Newcastle United - 17/09/12 @ 8pm (Live on Sky)

I think some of it comes down to the early to mid 90s when we came from nowhere to near the top of the league while they struggled to stay up, hence the 'you won f*** all' and 'where were you in the 80s' bollocks when they talk about crowd size. We sort of took their position. well during one spell int he 80s when they were challenging for the league and we were a division below- we had bigger crowds, so that sounds like shite anyway ( from them not you btw) Horrible bunch of fuckers back then and were pretty indiscriminate about who they used their knives and razors on. -
Being efficient with money doesn't mean being tight, which we clearly are. Simpson, the first choice right back, is probably leaving in January or for free next summer so replacing him this summer was a must. Considering he rejected the "final" contract months ago we would have known this was a priority. It all boils down to us continuing to be cheap, which is a scandal considering our net spend in the last few years. You call it "tight", many would call it not being moronic with money. It makes little sense to spend money on a player when the prospects of a much better signing soon becoming available are there, its a pretty simple concept to understand tbh. Just because you WANT something to happen doesnt mean its possible, situations sometimes have to be revised. You're talking with vague disatisfaction moreso than any well reasoned argument. Enough with the Q&A. We spent about £3million this summer If you think this is acceptable then you need to ask yourself where all the money goes we make. Like i said before, there is a considerable middle ground between being "moronic with money" and signing players we need, when we need them. You refusing to acknowledge this is bizarre and very blinkered to fit your/Pardew's agenda. Another injury or 2 tonight might wake you up? Does Mike trouser the cash? We're no longer the poor, little "bankrupt" club they claim we are. The good old ..zzzz.. put down I think you're correct in what you state and signings like Cisse, Anita etc, and contracts recently handed out to some of our key players would indicate that. With the exception of 3 or 4 obvious clubs we can now compete with just about anyone in British football. That said, if you think for one minute the present regime will waver from it's laid down transfer policy or salary budget you'll only end up stressing yourself out. No chance of it happening.

And spends it all in casinos apparently.

This thread really needs a football match.

Never quite sure who the "we" you refer to are ?
-
Bit tetchy and feeling victimised JH ? In fairness, if your question about who's going to be "grateful to us" relates to us as fans, then almost every public utterance from Pards, Dekka or anyone else connected to the club contains appreciation for the fans part in the recent upsurge in our fortunes.

On the surface their results could be deemed acceptable. Closer examination would reveal that they've been totally dominated in all three games and are fortunate not to be sitting on zero points. It's clear that their lacklustre performances are a result of the way the manager sets his team up and it produces a dreadful to watch end product. I don't however expect him to change his footballing philosophy. They're stuck with it.

Our Bobby Shinton top scoring wasn't very good and I paid to see that. was it 6 or 7? 7 I'm pretty sure. Like Mick I paid to watch that back then and it was dire. They're about as entertaining nowadays as we were back in those dark days. Difference is that back then we were crap and couldn't do anything about it but it's their manager's plan and footballing philospophy to make them totally dull and unentertaining. Those 8,000 or so empty seats they had yesterday are starting to look a very pale shade of pink indeed.
-
Most one sided draw I've ever seen. They're worse than last season. 3 draws so far but comprehensively outplayed in all. Got to admire their remaining paying supporters because I couldn't pay to watch football played like that. 13 without a win now. In MON we trust.

Making light and joking about the public insults one of his key players is making - a bit like the blind eye he turned on his club captain's vandalism spree. Disgraceful really, and shocking arrogance from a man who's team haven't won in 12 games.

12 games without a win. McLean abusing all and sundry on twitter. The car vandal being offered a new contract. Party with Marty !!
