Apart from the excellent job he has done on the pitch side of things, Pardew has restored the pride of Newcastle United and the respect we have in the game. He understands the role of the club in the region, he knows what it means to us and it is clear that he is instilling that into his staff and players.

Totally agree. If Willo is supposedly the weakness in our defence then things aren't too bad. He was excellent yesterday against simply world class opponents.

Watching Enrique yesterday made me realise just how much better Santon is than him already and he's going to get even better.

Thanks Peter. Good luck for the future.

In answer to a criticism that they have bought the title on 606 the presenters defended them by saying Man Utd did the same and foreign clubs like Bayern do the same too. Absolute bullshit. Those clubs have evolved over decades and their financial strength has come from football activities and spin offs. Man City have just bent over and and allowed themselves to become some rich Arab's whore. No evolution, no class, just an insane spending spree which distorts and damages the game as they buy their instant fix. If that wasn't enough they lost any remaining dignity by letting Tevez back into the club after he wiped his arse on their shirt. Once the Arab ditches them for a new bitch it'll be back to a half empty stadium and more decades of inferiority complex.

When a game is won with two such stunning goals it's easy to overlook just how good our defensive performance was. The back four were superb, but as a team the way we got our shape back so quickly and defended from the front whenever they were in possession was a masterclass. -
Coming your way soon, another Mag Witch hunt. Maybe the kid's just a sado mackochist and craves the pain of the inevitable abuse.

Nah... sorry mate. He's been excellent in several positions, RB,LB,CM and in CD alongside a centre half when standing in for Colo. The one thing he is not is a centre half in his own right. Anyway Williamson was outstanding last night too.

That's my nutshell opinion on Perchy. A very intelligent footballer.

In Mick's absence I can indeed verify that Graham Oates scored an og to rival any of Cisse's at the right end. Mick may be able to expand on who we were playing etc. cheers. the one i'm thinking of was very similar to cisse's second. at least thats how i always remembered it. It was certainly the longest range og I can remember seeing

Players are going to leave, it's an inevitability in modern football. What's more important is how we as a club are addressing this inevitability and shaping our plans for continued progress. Got it from a good source that when Graham Carr was questioned about the possibility of a certain player leaving he replied that he didn't know, but what he did know was that in the case of that happening he already has a replacement lined up who he thinks is even better. if thats true we ought to be activly looking at shifting those players out (if the replacement is better) ? Who knows we may? But equally there's an argument for keeping a good player who's settled as the "better" replacement may take time to settle. The main point is that under the present management structure we do have a plan in place for recruitment thereby eliminating, to a degree, the chance element and negative impact of a key player departing.

aye, hope he gets the same treatment as jose etc...hostility served us well in that game...slate the cunt "breaks legs when he wants" might be worth an airing......

Yeah but can't you see ? If you take away the points WE gained before THEY changed managers, the goals that Papiss Cisse has scored and those 15 clean sheets, they are clearly the better side. FTM.

Lest we forget, this cunt intentionally broke Haten Ben Arfa's leg and got away scott-free. I hope he gets the retribution he deserves some day.

So Britain's highest paid car vandal reckons they'll challenge for the Champions League next season. Aye alreet knuckleheed - yer been getting close to the chemical fumes again? Back on planet real world, after a rather flukey honeymoon period when the latest "next stage" messiah replaced the previous "next stage" messiah, results are back to the same as they were under Brucey boy. They have an oversized, overpaid and over the hill squad, sanctioned by the last "legend" chairman, who will be going nowhere fast without a considerable pay off. With gates and revenues tumbling as free tickets become the norm there will be little room for manouevre in the transfer market. Even if there was, as ever, any player with serious options is not going to choose Sunderland. It will be more Gardners, Cattermoles and Bendtners at very best - probably having to go down the loan path again. Europe my arse. A relegation battle beckons for them next season and it may well be party over for Marty.

The wow factor of his second goal and the reaction to it in the pub I watched the game in make it unforgetable, but on sober reflection I think his first goal was even better. Comparing superlatives can never be easy or definitive, so many of his goals have been quite extraordinary, Stoke home, Swansea away to mention just two, but I think his strike against Norwich at home is his best to date. Had it just been the toe end on a cross which it first appeared it was quite remarkable, but to see that he actually guided it in makes it a truly exceptional goal of the highest quality.

Do BSkyB recruit sports presenters solely on appearance nowadays with no knowledge of the game actually required? Eamon Hughes to presenter a few minutes ago when talking about Papiss Cisse, "where did he come from" - Presenter "err..I forget now but is was abroad somehere, he was a virtual unknown then". Actually pet he was probably the best player in the Bundesliga, arguably the biggest league in Europe.

Truly awesome defensive performance starting from the front whenever they were in possession. The back four were superb. Nowt much more can be said about the two goals, to say the pub I was in went crazy as the second went in would be an understatement. The bar had German Sky Sports coverage on and the commentator was adamant that the Mikkel challenge was a definite red card, he was amazed that not even a yellow was shown. -
Shola versus Spurs was pretty good.

Eh, what's he said that's got you riled up this time? Nowt new from the above article but he's said plenty of things in the past that has pissed off the fans and I'll remind you about this next time he does it. (when not if!) Most of what Dekka has said recently, through the programme or press, has been pretty spot on. If anything he's maybe a touch too straight and tells it as it is without dressing anything up to court popularity. After the arsehole behaviour at Darlo pre season he tore straight into the culprits and acted immediately despite already being unpopular and credit to him for that. Chairmen of another club in the area have consistently turned a blind eye to their fans (and players) loutish behaviour rather than risk upsetting anybody.
