Well done, your balanced and positive approach seems to be getting results.
  2. Sorry mate, this is the N-O forum. We don't do reality.

He's an exceptional athlete. I think part of the problem is he hasn't had to work too hard at his game or acquire much self-discipline in order to get where he has. The challenge seems to be to persuade him to put in that extra bit of work and concentration that will make the difference between a top player and a journeyman professional. Put perfectly. Nile oozes ability but it's all going to be about attitude with him as to whether me makes it at the highest level.

Sounds very positive mate, they obviously respect your point of view and you theirs.
  5. Not so long ago every match was released on video so it'd be a shame if one as extraordinary as Saturday wasn't.
  6. Billy Whitehurst-tastic !!
  7. He got the captaincy too. And finally someone worthy of the No 9 shirt

Although like most ST holders I'm gonna gain through the new structures, we must show solidarity with those who have to move. A noisy atmosphere at SJP helps the team and adds to everyone's matchday experience. In principle an extended family area can only be good for the club's future it's a shame that it comes at the expense of one of the most atmospheric parts of the ground. The club should provide the best option available for displaced fans, I hope it's the Gallowgate as they would then be joining in with the other principal singing area and the noise could be fantastic. Although I thought it was the case, the club should give displaced fans tickets in other equivalent areas at the SAME price they would have paid in L7. Regarding the standing issue, there is no way the club can agree to it, it's like walking through red lights at the bottom of Barrack Rd - everyone does it but no organisation or body can say they approve of it. However if the club are questioned it would be interesting to know if they will provide support to MP's who are lobbying for safe standing areas to return to our stadiums. I hope they would. Good luck to those who are being moved - we appreciate the noise you make and please keep it up wherever you move to.

Despite looking cumbersome at times in five PL starts he has four goals, had a good one disallowed and hit the underside of the bar, so for someone brought in as a squad player it's been a decent return. It's great watching players with sublime skill but it's also good to watch less talented players who work very hard to achieve success.
  10. From .com in their report of the Arsenal match, we know what it refers to. Amazingly still no action from the FA or SAFC for that matter regarding the persistant crowd control problems at the SoL. Does a player have to be seriously injured before they'll wake up ? We're delighted to report that the delirious second half goal celebrations here weren't accompanied by any loons making their way on to the pitch, shoving Arsenal players or generally showing themselves up as the inbred clowns they are.

Looks like a good piece of marketing overall and most season ticket holders will be pleased. It's a real shame some will have to move, especially as it affects one of the main singing sections but I suppose you can't make an omlette without breaking a few eggs. Although I'm slightly closer to L7 than the Strawberry corner, the corner is often loudest so if the L7 lads get to the Gallowgate, with the roof overhead it would be a really great singing end. If the perma moaners were given free seats and had beer delivered personally to them in said seat they'd still find something to moan about.
  12. They keep missing that over 90 minutes we had 55% possession, a lot more shots, corners and crosses than they did, not to mention a perfectly good goal disallowed. Much easier just to blame the ref.

    Alan Pardew

Spoke to a Hammers fan this afternoon who complained about Avram Grant's inability to deliver the required inspirational team talks - said he's about the same in the dressing room as he is on TV. I mentioned that Pardew had apparently torn into our lot at half time on Saturday and told them a few home truths. Hammers fan said he did very well at West Ham and would have him back any time.

I reckon with my PC ticket £100 cheaper, a 10% loyalty discount, a direct debit, if I find a kid to go with, volunteer to move into the new family section and become a full time student they're gonna be paying me to go to the match ! Geddin !!

It surprised me how "celtic" it is in that region and many people have that sort of appearance. Lovely food mind and the Estrella Galicia isn't bad either :-)

I think you're talking s***. Singing area is the only bit of the ground that seems to give a toss most of the time bar a small section of the Gallowgate Agreed. Haway man, you may be justified in trying to put a pessimistic negative spin on everything that happens at Newcastle to further your campaign, but you just said a couple of posts ago that you hardly ever attend SJP, so how can you comment on what the atmosphere is like ? Of course I can comment on what the atmosphere is like. I've been to SJP 5 times this season, haven't been since Hughton was sacked. Even when we were beating Villa 4-0 the atmosphere was weak. The Blackpool match, I felt embarassed to be a Newcastle fan, 48,000 of our fans and 4,000 Blackpool supporters put us to shame. I've been to 9/10 away matches a season for 3 or 4 years now. I'd rather spend my time, effort and money on going to away matches than St James', that's just what I prefer. How's that putting a negative spin on things? Muppet. Insults from "United for Newcastle" Recap man, you agreed with a statement that implies about 1500 fans in one section of the ground are the only ones who "give a toss". What about the other 48,000 of us who care enough to actually attend matches - are you saying we don't give a toss ? And you're supposed to be some kind of fan's "spokesman" ? Fackin mappet.

It's an excellent idea to get season tickets sold for next year, there's no question about it, and it's a very good deal for ST holders, but I think it's more a short term fix to try and sell STs for next season despite the current disillusionment with the club rather than a smart plan for the long term future. I'd think most ST holders will take it up - there's only a 1 year tie-in - but longer term, in 5+ years time, we could be left behind other clubs with smaller crowds in match day revenues. Especially as we'll be in the Champions League and competing for the title by then. Matchday revenue should still be £30m+, so at a modest 3% compound interest that's potentially (very roughly) £7m revenue lost in 2019, £8m in 2020, £9m in 2011, £10m in 2022. It's an act borne of necessity rather than an altruistic move, and indicates we'll be trying to keep attendances up through price cuts (in real terms) rather than increasing the desire to go whatever the cost. It's a shame that wont be the case, but taking that into consideration this is a decent move in the circumstances, and quite frankly if it's to the benefit of match going supporters and keeps attendances up, it's better than the alternative of seeing a half empty St James' for a lot of less attractive league games next season. Agreed, I think all clubs nowadays will be acting out of "necessity rather than altruism" but I think they've come up with an excellent balance here and packaged it well.

Love how he's been isolated from the group in the bottom picture. In this country a ginger is a freakier sight than an alien spaceship He's the team captain though, the rest of the boys probably too scared of his ginger death rays. You spent much time in Galicia ? There's loads of them :-)

Shouldn't have sang nasty songs about the owner then A section of wankers start chants about Hughton and Ashley (only when the team is losing) so the whole singing section gets bumped. Hardly justifies the decision. to be fair, it happens when we are winning as well. Prime example, Arsenal, 2 3 and 4-0 down, chants for Hughton, chants for get out of our club, second half 4-2 4-3 4-4, not one Chris Hughton or Mike Ashley song. Absolute wankers who sing these sort of chants. i heard it not long after full time against arsenal near where i was stood. and "absolute wankers who sing these sort of chants" ... .we all hate the man.. what do you want people to do stand and sing " we love you ashley we do" .. or stand and pretend he aint there, or just go on as if hes doing an amazing job or do what fans do and voice their opinions and feelings? Yeah exactly after the full time whistle or outside the ground, voice all you like, but at the match get behind the players on the pitch, i doubt they want to be hearing chants for Hughton when they are trying to play for Pardew. I certainly don't think Pardew wants Hughton chants being sung when he's trying to galvinise the team's spirit 4-0 down. Just pathetic singing for a former manager who is well gone! I agree, the CH chants were pathetic. In fairness it was a very muted chant and it was instantly drowned out by boos and whistles.

Don't know when you last went to a match in Germany, but that is old hat and nowadays they are very comparable to our prices. I paid a staggering 226 euros for what was pretty much the equivalent of a Platinum Club (albeit behind the goal) ticket in December.

Looks like it's a rolling agreement, you renew you get the deal, you give up you're out and would have to come back in at the new rate at that time.
