    Season Tickets

That's a very smart plan for the future and seems to place the interests of supporters first. Things like interest free DD payments should help a lot of people and a "young adult" ticket is a good idea too. As the extended family section will eat into the singing corner the club should also take a serious look at creating a real singing end, it would take some re-organisation but I'm sure it's achievable. A bigger hard core singing end would act as a catalyst for other parts of the ground to get involved too. It was never more clearly illustrated than Saturday what difference a noisy St.James'Park can make.
  3. It was against Arsenal man, everyone knows you can't tackle against Arsenal. .com made a very valid point about Sidwell's serious injury inflicting challenge on Shola, about which not a word was said. Can you imagine the uproar and media campaigns if Barton had done something similar ? There is no real justice, but a whole lot of prejudice as illustrated by the leniency shown towards the thug Henry when we played Wolves earlier this season.
  4. Not me. Difference is we're kinda used to them going down so it was a bigger thing for them. Err....correction ....it was the BIGGEST thing ever for them.
  5. Paul Merson - However, I don't think he'll be far off the mark, I wouldn't be surprised if he is the lowest paid senior player, he wouldn't have been on big money at Twente. Significant pay rise coming up I'd think. I've thought that about Blackpool before then they go straight out and win a couple, however I think the pressure will start to build for them and it could be telling.
  6. Over the years their obsession with our attendances has blamed anything and everything - media, political brainwashing, relative economies, train lines, bus routes, you name it ! Must say though it is starting to look bad when you see how empty the SoL and Riverside look when televised, people will think NE fans are very fickle.
  7. Ah knaa. Could get a canny basketball team going like !

    This season...

It's been a bizarrely enjoyable season with some amazing matches, great attacking football and goals galore. We've also seen our side playing with great passion and pride in the shirt. I've loved it but I won't be happy until we're safe. If we stay up I think next season could be very good.
  9. She definitely has something against Newcastle, talks about us through gritted teeth and siezes every possible negative thing she can.
  10. You've been brought up very well by the sounds of it
  11. WAs it Diaby who kicked Simpson and left him in a bit of pain first half when they both tumbled behind the Leazes goal and got away scot-free ?
  12. Probably says a lot more than a 100 pages of forum discussion.
  13. I'm erring on the side of forgiveness, it was really painful for the first half hour and missing that second half really has to be to most appropriate of justice.
  14. The "boring, boring Arsenal" song needs to be updated to "whingeing, whingeing Arsenal"
  15. "And Britain's Eurovision entry for 2011 is...........................................Niall Quinn's Disco Pants"
  16. Fkin hell CG that's getting a bit philosphical isn't it ?
  17. First of all lets be clear, as someone who was there, it was dozens and maybe a hundred or so at most out of nearly 52,000, nothing like the mackems mass exodus at 3-0 and half time on derby day. But should they be forgiven or not ? Perhaps missing the second half is punishment enough ? Someone I give my ticket to, free of charge, when I can't make it, left at 4-0 on Saturday and I don't think he'll be getting it again in future. Am I over-reacting ? I'm sure those who left were hurting badly (weren't we all) but my feelings are with fans who spend a whole Saturday travelling to and from the south of England and further afield to watch us play and exiled mags everywhere who would love to be inside SJP win, lose or draw.
  18. Howay Dave and Co there's some great captions there - deserves it's own space somewhere.
  19. Wearside buses and metros to install flavoured glass windows ! http://img227.imageshack.us/img227/7830/8594display.jpg
  20. Me too. Always supported them in Europe but they're just as bad as ManU really. Oh and Piers Morgan supports them too...........
  21. Nolan was pretty wound up - credit for that - his arm went towards the ball the goalkeeper was holding and Chesney moved his body to make a meal of it - so the keeper is responsible for the incident. Also loved the angry manner in which Nolan threw his drink bottle to the ground as he walked to the tunnel at the end, it said a lot about how wound up he was and what it meant to him. A lot has been said about the team and individual's performances in the second half, but I'm sure had Kevin Nolan not been in our dressing room and on the pitch we would not have got that result. He is a big, big player for us.
  22. The way i seen it...Nolan and Barton wanted the ball. Nolan went to grab it and the keeper pulled it away, so Nolan with his other arm tries a reach around and the keeper leans forward trying to hide the ball with Nolans arm round his neck. Looks like a headlock but i dont think it was intetional. Who f***ing cares anyway. i've seen Arsenal come to SJP many tmes and get away with murder. And the Arse fans also forget the time in the late 90s and early 00s when Petit, Veria, Dixon, Adams and Keown etc used to kick people daft. No way mate. Figment of your imagination. Nor do they ever commit a foul or cheat nowadays. Ask Arsene, he'll tell you.
  23. Nice to see you back Roy mate, we're not all suicidal pessimists on here you know, in fact most of us who go to the match are just long suffering drunken optimists.
  24. Tiote did an interview in the Independent before the Arsenal game, and he said this is a fantastic club. He's clearly happy here but there are going to be clubs chasing his signature this summer. I'd only be really worried if one of them was Chelsea because they will pay whatever it takes. And they've got Drogba, who could be a big factor. That could be our Achilles heel , he will certainly chat to other Ivorian players. However maybe on the back of his reference we should table a bid for Drogba :-)
  25. Saint Niall and the F.A. announce an indefinite extension to the impunity for knive carrying, missile throwing, pitch invasions and attacks on opposition players at the Stadium of Light. http://img227.imageshack.us/img227/7830/8594display.jpg
