  1. Top marks to Jeff Stelling who upon hearing of McManaman's "first ever" red card yesterday commented that Newcastle fans probably think he should have had one already for a certain tackle last season.
  2. So presumably this was on live television, as hindu was referring to earlier..? The bloke who's twitter i was watching yesterday (which i've come to doubt as JFK was seen in London last night apparently and not France as the bloke claimed) mentioned Gomis was on TV this morning, so that part was true. Not that it has any bearing on what you say Bimpy, but it doesn't take long to get from France to London, or vice versa, nowadays. I'm saving any excitement for when .co.uk picture him with the shirt.

http://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/boo-boys-at-the-end-of-the-game.798183/ Booed off. One game in and the "revolution" is looking a bit revolting.
  5. Great news if we get him. Will be just like having a player back from injury.

That interview. Borderline insane is probably being generous.

Jesus wept, this is still happening? Can those bamps not go 90 minutes without necking their bait and chucking the litter on the pitch? Go for some scran beforehand, your 'city' centre is fully stocked with Greggs and chippies. (And not much else BTW) Down side of using a music venue for football matches before cleaning it properly.

That was about 2 months of shots last year .....and probably exactly what you're going to get with 4th division manager in the PL.

Some half-wit macum (....yes I know..) on radio tonight reckoned it was the best performance he'd seen since the glory days of Quinn and Phillips. Beaten by Fulham at home. Sounds good.

Love it when cp40 is in this this thread on a Saturday evening

So is the Di canio revolution going to be more exciting than the party with Marty ?

Oh dear, it looks like July may be the high point of the macums season once again.
  13. Think of it as a balance to the general tendency of wallowing in the worst-case scenario, trying to be gloomier and more self-pitying than the last poster. so true.
  14. Three defeats all season Be lucky to reach October with just three. Anyway that aside love this thread.
  15. You can't have been around too long I'll give you a recent example then - walking up to SJP for the Saturday evening ko against Reading just four seasons ago was a pretty gloomy trek. Turns out we got a Shola hat-trick and a great season.
  16. Well it seems the consensus is that this game is a write off and it will be anything between a 5 and 8 goal hammering. It's good that we've arrived at this sensible and realistic position in advance as it means there shouldn't be too much uproar and insult throwing when it actually happens.

    Loïc Remy

.....as opposed to big clubs like Real Madrid, Chelsea, Man U and Arsenal who all got their primary targets "over the line" ages ago. Oh hang on... they haven't ? Do yourself a favour mate and save the grief for September 2nd, it'll all come out in the wash in the last few days and then, weaker or stronger, is the best time to make judgement. Does wonders for blood pressure and general health just to ignore the bullshit until then.

So Huddlestone chose Hull over the macums. Probably had a long think about where they'd be next May and fancied Hull's chances more.
  19. Won't stop it being regurgitated on here every two days though.

    Alan Pardew

I've not seen, heard or read any "upbeat views" of Pardew for quite some time. Hardly surprising considering how last season ended and some of the dreadful performances we witnessed. However I think to some of the real Pardew haters on here, anyone who tries to bring balance to the debate or even just refuses join in with the mob's gratuitous, childish insults is enough to have them branded as a Pardew "supporter".

    Alan Pardew

theres very few managers about these days who don't do exactly what they're told by the owner above. One of the last who could realistically challenged the owners was Fergie and even he went out of his way to praise the Glazers despite general disgust for them in the supporters. Wengers about the only one left who could challenge his "boss" now but even he doesn't for whatever reason. Is the totally sensible and "living in the real world" explanation of what happens in management. The notion that Pardew, or anyone else for that matter, could survive in management while being openly at odds with his employer is just ridiculous. TBF to Pardew, in some of his veiled comments referring to transfers etc he seems to criticise his employer more than most.

    Alan Pardew

Really ? Isn't there a widely held belief in football that Pardew has handled Ben Arfa better than any of his previous coaches and that they they enjoy a good relationship ?

    Alan Pardew

This thread just gets better...ffs It's a shame when there really is so much to debate about Pardew that this kind of shite drags the thread down to imbecile level. I think any reasonable person would say that Pardew was a tad fortunate when we finished 5th and was unfortunate (decisions and injuries) last season when we finished 16th. I also think it's reasonable to assume that Pardew will not be granted another season like the last one in terms of results and performances by either the fans or his employer.

Interesting article from Weez Keeyz. Makes some decent points, but quite contradictory to the popular opinions of a few on here and no doubt pretty contentious stuff for the more hard core Pardew haters. http://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2013/aug/12/premier-league-preview-newcastle-united
  25. Am I missing something- why wouldn't they have a forum? They're not a pub side. and even if they were they'd probably have one too...
