  1. Wonder if he will be quietly out the door in the summer. No reason he would be unless Howe doesn't rate him. He loves the club and it's a dream job for him. Never got the hate for him tbh as silly as the almost messiah hysteria when he arrived and positive results were all down to him (which I'm sure I glady bought into ? ) Just seems like a sound coach and sound guy that loves the club.
  2. Liverpool will be highly motivated with the man City slip yesterday and spurs with tails up. Leeds in for a rough run like us before Christmas.
  3. OK this is pure panto. Its like am dram platoon out there.
  4. How is that not 4. Big Joe would have at least slipped with that shot
  5. This game makes me appreciate how consistent we have been across full games under Howe performance wise. Not always been pretty but always been maximum effort.
  6. Ridiculous cross goal from leeds
  7. In our hands to dig our way out. Good stuff.

    Joelinton

Think this too. Once one goes in, we might see things turn around on that front. It's like any barren striker run. He was always built up to be a monster finisher on the training ground prior to Howe. Odd how he seems to fall apart. Also. A lot of talk about him getting called up for Brazil on this current form.. only two more years and he can naturalize and represent England as he comes into his peak years ?
  9. To be fair you could say that about most of our squad that year. He and Wijnaldum were game changers but on their own terms. Still think both fees were justified and I absolutley wanted to keep both, however unrealistic that was. He definitely didn't get better after he left though so you are probably right in him being more limited than the hype.

    In memoriam

RIP. Terrible news, big character. Huge impact in the rugby and when he was here. Sleep well.
  11. To be fair that was nearly 7 years ago, he has probably declined a bit no he is 32. He was absolutely class for us. Fee wasn't outrageous at the time at all.

    Joelinton

It was clear he had technique, was decent in short passing and holding up play a bit. He worked hard too but he simply seemed like a luxury player without the luxury, simply didn't belong in a normal functioning team. Never would have expected him to switch back and look so good. He has been found tbh. He was never an out and out striker and while he offered some things out wide he was someone that needed upgrading on in that position. Truly remarkable how beastly he has become. The positional change has unlocked part of his brain that wasnt connecting and his game has come together. Anything he did well previously he has also amped up and improved on. If he could only now improve infront of goal to be decent in the one area we thought he excelled in when we bought him, he would have the world at his feet. Bloody love the guy.
  13. Astute signings. Its a shitter trippier is out but Targett and Burn look tremendous and transform our defence. We aren't there yet but what a job Howe and co. Have done so far. Incredible turn around in mentality and how players look. We have likeable people that give everything for the shirt right now. Long may that continue.
  14. Looks shot of confidence. Obviously short of match practice too. Don't remember him even touching the ball.
  15. Absolutely massive game for both clubs. If we can pull a win out our arses there it would be HUGE.
  16. Simply no idea why Gerrard comes out last week with comments about not getting dragged into relegation. If they weren't thinking about it before they certainly will now.
  17. While the watford and Burnley results are a bit of a shitter, Everton and villa getting dragged in is delicious for the neutral.
  18. Ffs Brighton. Class from weghorst.

    Joe Willock

Absolute quality today. He is having a resurgence of Big Joe proportions over the last few games. Hope it continues. Confidence is coming back and some outrageous dribbling at times. This team wants it and that extra % we are seeing from every player will be pivotal keeping us up. My only concern is Howe maybe thinking it's Willock or Bruno and Shelvey is untouchable. It's a hard one as Shelvey is playing a different role and doing well but I'd drop shelvey for Bruno before willock on this form.
  20. Can see what the Brighton fan said about his heading ability. He was massive today though in every way. Lobe his calmness but passion when it counts. Losing trippier he is the added voice we needed. I think it will help lacelles find himself again too.
