Surely a fair few that have been linked to us that would have seen today and lifted an eyebrow, certainly wouldn't have done us any harm.

Realistic for who? 17m was realistic to us if the first reported bid was correct but they want nearly double when players with better proven pedigree (maybe not potential) are going for less. We have our own system of what is realistic and they have shown they will stick with it. We were right to stick to our guns with Carlos, right with Botman, probably likewise with Maddison. The stall we set out with how we do business now is pivotal for negotiations every window going forward. Nobody is asking us to bend over backwards, as you say, except the majority of clubs we have approached to bid for players over this summer. Thats been pretty blantant like, really blatant. But I guess depends again, realistic fee for who?
-
I would think we have a list of potential loan signings as fall backs too. Ideally they wouldn't have to go that route in case they are needed in January due to freak injuries or otherwise. I absolutely believe we won't cave and bend over backwards.
-
We are so sick of bids being rejected we are rejecting our own now.
-
Thought that same about Maddison. Like with Forfana, the Sarr to Palace deal makes it more complicated. Hoping we get the breakthrough finally though. Weren't they interested in Matty Longstaff at one point?
-
I remember the days we have 4/5 decent strikers on the books! In an ideal world we would sign two more but with is mainly playing one up top it seems unlikely.
-
But they would sell for double the going rate and manure are desperate enough to do it.
-
If we get Pedro for 25m then loan pulisic and buy Gallagher for the 35 rising to 40 they want. I'd be happy with CHO too but Pulisic is next level and less broken.

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2022/08/14/joao-pedro-watford-forward-no-one-talking-yet/ Good read. Started off as a DM. The anti Joelinton! Also another good one in the athletic about how Watford were trying to keep him under the radar by selling Dennis and Sarr.
-
I know precious little about him other than him being a bit of a coop when they got him. How do people feel about him in comparison to the other relegated winger/stikers we didn't go for like Sarr, cornet, Dennis?
-
I like our undercutting policy, as previously stated. We aren't getting taken for a ride and its important to set up how we get treated in the transfer market going forward. Probably should have written Shitehawk instead of Shitehouse.
-
We are proper shitehouse in the transfer market now. Will you take 17m? No.. absolutely not 35m. Here is 20???
-
Not least when the original asking price was €90 million wasn't it? And it was reported Arsenal had a 58m pound bid rejected in January.
-
Provided we get 2 (hopefully 3, sod it lets be greedy and saw 4 for fun) in by window close I am not too bothered who they are. I trust the transfer team and those running the club and more so I trust Howe and co. to get the best out of the players that come in. The slow build is real but we have kept our cards so close to our chest we need open heart surgery to locate them. The surgeons are just preparing.

CHO is obviously off somewhere in the next day or two. Just not convinced at all its us. I know he is a project we probably don't need but he is still so young and versatile. Can potentially cover as a wingback if we switch to 3 in the centre too. End product has long been a criticism even if he was slightly better the last last year or two.
-
Would think if we are budgeting 20-25 for a striker. CHO would be around the same or a loan. We might still be looking big going back for Maddison or bidding for Gallagher/another big target.
-
Quite happy no Nunez when we play them but them dropping points likely means Man City will be salivating next game!
-
Might free up Gallagher to move.
-
Hell yes. Would be a class addition. Another I would be shocked to see end up here though.
-
So we may have lodged the bid and had it turned down last week and then after turned to Ramos?
-
Yes they said he isn't for sale.
-
Just give Watford wood and then bring in Pedro and Ramos.
-
That would be a random move. Chelsea signing Gordon is odd. Maybe they will loan him straight out to us lol
