If we see Botman being here for the best part of a decade the price, if true, isn't that ridiculous. Feel we are being very calculated with FFP though those extra 10m add up and potentially mean we can't bring in an extra player or two or hamstring movement in the summer. Not convinced he gets any cheaper in the summer (especially if his form is consistent) and there will be more competition for him.

Could definitely be that we want Botman (or someone else) and are prepared to wait until the summer if necessary. Been very quiet on CM/DM in comparison to other positions. Suspended isn't he? More likely Ritchie or trippier. Outside chance of dummett. Think manquillo is pretty good defensively though.

On balance. He turned down chances to move on to sit on the bench or because he didn't fancy the Championship, likewise had that bust up with Jones earlier this season. Could be said he hasn't had a fair shake of first team games but he has also been crocked and looked no better than anyone else, if not worse when given the chance. Don't have any ill will towards him but happy to see him out and replaced. Three years too late.

Look forward to him starting against Watford.
