  1. Lee Ryder already poo pooing it?
  2. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-8741569/Newcastle-brink-250-000-deal-21-year-old-Peru-playmaker-Rodrigo-Vilca.html Is the answer apparently. Wont likely ever line up for us by the sounds of that article lol. Underwhelming as expected!
  3. Would be a good shout except he just moved to Atlético-MG in June for 2m. Doesn't mean there hasn't been some shenanigans and they are making a shady profit selling him to us. Quite a price drop from 10.7m to 2m in a season though.
  4. Could see him at Vancouver. He has mentioned he is fearful about returning to the States. That might be a decent move for him and the Whitecaps need all the help they can get. The free transfer would likely be the only way MLS clubs would justify the wages he would demand.
  5. Considering his ability to play higher up the field and even in the middle of the park, as much as he hates that. I really wish we would try and pick him up. I am imagining he is too much of a liability fitness wise. That is the only logical explanation right?
  6. This is the kind of competition we need. Longstaff's been poor as has Ritchie. But Yedlin and Krafth have gone one better and been absolutely dreadful. He looks better in almirons spot
  7. Manquillo is the Dummett of the right side. Maybe a bit harsh, but it's more of compliment to Dummett than put down for Manquillo. Both are pretty dependable but not top level, first class modern fullbacks. Both probably get a bit too much stick on here sometimes. Manquillo has been great the past year and a bit. A quality upgrade like Lewis would be fantastic though. Manquillo and Dummett are great backups. Why the hell we bought Krafth is anyones guess. Maybe we can upgrade next summer. If only we could grab Aarons to join Lewis. We could give them Krafth in exchange? Thought not.
  8. Thought Krafth looked better towards the end of the season. Guess we will find out tomorrow!

    Jamal Lewis

Sigh. I know. But it was Wales gain while it lasted.
  10. https://www.hammers.news/club-news/opinion-newcastles-62-capped-international-bruce-wants-to-sell-is-ideal-for-west-ham/ Okay?
  11. SSN had it as their main PL headline today. BBC for example have nothing on it at all. To be fair BBC are dealing with their own problems after axing Sue Barker, Tufnell and Dawson from Question of Sport. The outrage is real.
  12. If everyone on "the list" goes out we will be 2 spaces short of the 25 man roster (not counting Shortstaff), so I would expect another loan at least. I think its definitely shit or get of the pan time with Murphy. If they are unsure I would keep him until January. Atsu got games last year, so I would assume Jacob would get the odd appearance. Ideally we could get someone that could plan in DM and CB as well as another pacey striker option.

    Jeff Hendrick

This was never the case. Defensively we dropped back into a compact 4-4-2 shape, and he actually supported Manquillo well, blocking a number of crosses. Maybe later in the game. The 2nd half in particular was completely different. Not in the first half though. He was often deeper inside and it gave me the Willies we were going to get caught out with a quick switch.

    Jeff Hendrick

Blatantly have to play 3-3-3-1 to accommodate him. I do think he was inverted to help cover Shelvey and I can see us packing the midfield like that throughout the season. The danger was the amount of space it left for West Ham to attack down the left wing. Also a ton of pressure on manquillo. On the flipside it left Manquillo in lots of space to attack at times. I'd like to see Fraser, Miggy and ASM behind Wilson. That has the potential to frighten the shit out or defences. I don't that we will though, or at least not very often. The height and strength of Carroll for Wilson to run off was important and we really don't have that height or physicality in Shelvey, Hayden and Hendrick. We have quite a lot of nice options to play around with but we are really lacking a destroyer or another DM.
  15. The Roma links seem like old news from before we got Fraser. We aren't signing another winger. Even if Murphy leaves. Maybe a striker that has player out wide, at best. Report also says they only want to sell (£23m), with Arsenal leading the chase. Going to say this is a non starter!
  16. Been out with a thigh injury. Not sure he has been in full training for quite a while?

    Jeff Hendrick

You get that if you cross him with Shelvey. Not sure Hendrick has Bartons vision and ability to pass/cross but also early to tell. He is more mobile than Barton too.
  18. He’s been this good since the last 1/3 of the second Benitez season. This. I certainly wouldn't mind dumping krafth and yedlin and getting a complimentary, pacey equivalent of Lewis for the right but the RB slot is and should have been Manquillos from the start of last season and through this. No more shoving him to LB to fill in, hopefully.
  19. Crazy to think we actually have options upfront and could and hopefully will bring in one more on loan. Almiron behind, joelinton or Carroll. Longstaff playing number 10 works and Hendrick has played there before too.
  20. Real deal. Love him. Like a missing piece fell into place.

    Jamal Lewis

Raw still but looked great early in the game. A bit nervy overall but looks like he will be a great addition, already linking up with ASM nicely.

    Jeff Hendrick

He was fine, just looked a bit match fitness shy with a few dodgy first touches. Did his job and excelled in the second half.
