  1. 7 fecking minutes of extra time, doesn't even seem to have been any injuries. Given the scousers every chance to equalize and they still cant put it in. Will probably trounce us next week though and be a side transformed, just our bastard luck.

    Leon Best

Hopefully he and Marveaux can be back for a couple of games. Real shame with Marveaux looked fantastic when he has played.

    Papiss Cissé

Gutted he didn't finish the other two chances, the lob would have been sweet, but the set up from guti would have been even sweeter. Happy days if we can get Ba to re-sign.
  5. That pass was sublime. Been a while since we have seen quality like that.

  8. Don't believe he is intent on leaving, just wants a better deal. The plus side of leaving is the signing on fee, better wages and likely automatic first team football which outweigh sticking here and waiting for Cabaye or Tiote to get injured or suspended. Regardless, he does want to stay and has said as much, our board is just hardball with how much we rate him. Like to see us playing 3 in midfield with a combination of Guthrie, Tiote, Cabaye and Guti and a front three of Hatem, Cisse and Ba.
  9. Colo by example really, but he isn't nearly vocal enough. Cabaye certainly can be, he gets very involved, Tiote too. Guttierez seems well respected and talks alot, think he prefers to just play. Saylor is probably the most vocal, problem is he is a complete moron.
  10. Enjoyed his cameo today, for a change! Showed a different approach to Ba and Cisse today in doing the Shearer make things happen for yourself and take the ball out wide then ping it in. Ba and Cisse were too central today for the most part although Ba runs all over the shop he hasnt been dragging it into the corner for a cross recently. Still looking for at least one striker upgrade coming in the door this summer.
  11. Looked like he needed new boots today, he, Cisse and Ba were on their ass a fair bit. He was too wasteful in possession today which overloaded the sparing moments of brilliance. Still think he will remain there for starting our next game. Absolute bollocks from Redknapp, as pointed out. Almost did more tracking back and defending than Simpson. Disappeared in the second half but was all over the place in the first.
  12. Midfield refusing to do anything but sit deep in front of him probably doesn't help the constant pressure either. Still night and day from last season and the year before.
  13. Please leave the club in the summer. Doesn't help him having no competition pushing him for a place. Gone backwards from six months after we returned to the premiership. Too bad.
  14. Ben Arfa should've come off, imo: looked knackered and clueless. Guthrie was shot, as well. And Shola has bright in his sub appearances. Subs are about the only things Pardew actually got right. Well, I think you should keep your biggest threat on the pitch. His presence causes chaos, especially when he carries the ball. I realize it's a bit much at times, but he's able to score out of the blue. He was frustrating today but not his best. It was a weird sub, but he was among our sloppiest in possession today. We desperately needed some wing play to involve our two strikers, would have been better off playing 1 up top if we were going to leave them isolated. However Shola was perfect when he came off spreading the play our wide and holding the ball up.
  15. Struggling to work out who is the biggest liability out of Williamson and Simpson. It is scary how bad Williamson has become in a year. I don't know what is up with him. He never had pace and has always been dicey in shirt pulling but he at least seemed to read the game well, was pretty calm and made the right decisions, even if it was just hoofing it into touch. Now he bungles everything, gets himself into trouble and rarely picks the right option. Think I'd be more tempted to put Perch at CB and keep Simpson on the starting sheet right now. Tough call though. Ideally right now; Santon Perch Colo Raylor (looks fucking shocking on paper though)
  16. Agree with most of this mate but harsh on Perch, he passed it short, accurate and very rarely gave it away, he was our best player imo. Had one bad pass towards the end that put Colo in trouble but was pretty impressive otherwise. Don't see him playing there with Tiote back, interesting to see whether he slots in at LB though. Really praying Santon would get a chance at RB. Simpson wasnt shocking today but he did have his usual clangers, not sure how he managed to let the Norwich winger get past him, thanks to Krul for a blinding save, Simpson had 5 yards on him, for our "quickest player" he got reamed. Think the rating is harsh of Krul too, he had a couple of bad kicks after he appeared to have a hamstring strain. Had three great saves that kept us in the game.
  17. Foot was eased off the pedal after our goal, we just wound down from there and called it a day at half time. Can't believe that was the tactics employed but seemed like we only cared to try and keep possession (god knows how I would come to that conclusion as we were fucking terrible at it) and defend the 1 goal advantage. Never really tried to use the wings and feed Ba and Cisse. In that case we would have been better taking one of them off and putting Santon on and playing 4-5-1.
  18. Ffs little effort!? Can't you realize how hard we press them at 1st half? Rematch the match you f***ing idiot. I'm happy having to watch it just once, I will take the win. Your right of course. Effort was way less in the second half but we were committed but disorganized, lacking any killer instinct and the sloppiest of joes in possesion. Midfield might just have been in the directors box they seemed invisible.
  19. Great result ground out by us, but completely unnecessary. Another game where we only turned up for one half. Pretty much did the usual and took the foot off the pedal after we went 1-0. The fucking foot was draped out the car window far from the pedal in the second half. Have to cut out this habit of sloppy passes we have found ourselves in. Still dont know how we had gaping holes through the middle when we had three playing there, and we were pretty much raped down the flanks at the same time in that second half. Our midfield was disappointing again. Lots of plus points though, Perch, Cisse's movement, Jonas playing very well. Midfield is worrying though. We showed what happens when we give our front two chances, please can we learn from that and do it more often. Stopping doing it after we are in front is not good enough. Think the players let Pardew down in that second half. Pretty happy with Pardews subs and tactics today. We need to find a greater attacking need and killer instinct.
  20. Don't think there is anyone here that could honestly say different about Raylor and Perch.. all three have been great squad players this year. I have knocked Pardews motivational skills the past couple of months but he has got the best out of our worst players.

    Papiss Cissé

They would have been two quality strikes from the half way line Backheeled FYI.
  22. Fuck that, keep him at LB and put Santon where he should have been playing all along.
