If its about a decent backup player for peanuts why are we talking about Aaron Hughes? He was mediocre at best before he left, since he has left he has gone drastically downhill from that. Worse than re-signing Lee Clarke.
-
Havent seen anything of Andrade this season, but if he is as good as he was the two years previous he would be a fantastic buy, similar to Van Buyten in always surging forward from the back and nicking the ball into the net. Id be delighted if we were to go for him.
-
To start the season. Given RB/Solano Taylor Rozehnal Baines Diarra Barton Emre Dyer/Milner Luque/Zog Martins/other striker Viduka will miss the start of the season.
-
Exactamundo! Steer well clear. Hughes actually got worse when he left here. Ramage isnt any worse and is good enough for our back, back, backup.
-
Looks good for us, that is if we are actually interested in him at all.
-
Barton Diarra Emre Sounds like it would be a canny midfield. Rather have Appiah, but thats mainly because I know nothing of Diarra really and its a reasonably big out lay. Good attributes though.

http://www.itv-football.co.uk/Story/0,14272,6145_2444252,00.html Us, Manure and Pompey, lates rumour. There is a real corker i just saw on the 606 boards saying Bayern are going to give us 5m AND Van Buyten for Emre..Do people even think before they make stuff up these days?
-
You mean loan Carroll out surely? Doubt there is anything in the Kanoute rumours, up grade on Ameobi but for that kind of money we could buy a better fit to reshape our front line.
-
He'd also be bloody handy for Arsenal or Manure. But they surely would have included him in the Henry deal if he was to go to London, and im not sure he is the all out goal poacher and scorer Manure need.
-
Yea i just checked and he WASNT in the team of the season BUT that was on Wiki. That said, it says he WAS on his Wiki profile.
-
he would be an excellent signing but only if Owen or Martins leave this summer if we sign another it will be too many If this rubbish about Sam being interested in Alan Smith actually is true, he should definately be turning his attention to the Iceman. Gudjohnsen would be fantastic for us in midfield or upfront. Dont take and cheap imitations Sam, buy the real thing!

shorey is two inches taller than baines! Baines everytime for me. If we can get a RB and Beye or similar that can play RB or CB that would be good. Likewise another CB that can play LB, although thats a little trickier. Baines, two CB ideally that could play fullback, and a RB. Hyppia is a good bet, we need someone with premiership experience. Would prefer enticing Campbell though.

Do you think we tempt the likes of Rozehnal with a place on our bench when other clubs the size of Dortmund and Sevilla are also knocking on their door? He was only offered tea lady there. BBC running it now: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/n/newcastle_united/6232364.stm

Yes you are completely correct. Dennis Bergkamp was absolute garbage. Bar Bergkamp, and the sanitation, and the roads.... Do be do.. Its what Arsenal have been missing the last few seasons, with a good strike force Arsenal will be much closer to winning the league than dropping out of the top four. Henry has run his course at Arsenal, it will be a good move for player and club.
-
Only one place to put Hunty and Edgar, Out on loan. Wouldnt hurt Damage too, but he can amble about in the squad as back backup. God knows he might even improve if we bring in players around him that actually know how to defend!
-
Big shame ickle De Guzman has opted for the clog merchants, he could be an asset for them and but although unlikely its still not too late for him to change his mind. Players like he and Hargreaves deciding to commit elsewhere really stunts the teams growth and development. Puts out the wrong message to the younger players aswell.
-
If the right money was on offer he would be at Scunthorpe by now. I'm sure he would like to prove everyone wrong here but the only thing that has kept him here this summer are his wage demands and lack of suitors.
-
Wenger is on the Real shortlist apparently. I dont think he is likely to leave them before the end of next season, he is an honourable man. Will be interesting to see who he goes for to fill the hole, Henry has never had a top class partner so Id expect them to bring in a couple of decent players.
-
Dont know what you have been watching mate, even defensively Solano has been better than Carr. Whilst he gets cut to pieces alot of the time his positional sense (when not marking) and footballing brain is twice of the Irishmans, he is more composed on the ball, better going forward and isnt even a RB. He isnt great, but a darn sight better playing out of position than carr is in his natural one.
-
Arsenal can buy Owen and Martins then and give the extra 2 Million to charity. Spurs or something similar. Saviola and Anelka wouldnt be so bad to get in if they both left. they would score half the amount of goals, but would add more to the team. Id expect Arsenal to big for Martins. None of the big four will bid for Owen until at least January, if at all.

Much more likely outcome. Villa,The Scum, blackburn, west ham, Wigan, Torquay. To name a few more likely destinations.

Would be nice to think there is something in talk of getting Diarra. Granted I know feck all about him but would show our intent of being in the market for an athletic DM, which opens the door for me hoping for Appiah! Rozehnal can play DM so Id be suprised to see us buying one. Maybe we will put a few offers on the table for players once the defence is sorted. Then if they come off, good, if not no huge deal. Need to get to that comfort zone by signing at least another player in every position along the back.
-
We will soon find out we were never in for him to begin with.
-
If he was our second choice RB though, then it would be a good move. Carr sold/released/part of the Young deal, Solano as backup to the right wing, and Taylor placed firmly in the centre, where he needs to be, it would be criminal to move him there and should be avoided at all costs. Plus another RB, Sagna or another £5m+ player. Same goes for the LB position, we need that at a minimum next season if we are to be taken seriously. (That's not to mention another 2/3 CB's) 2nd choice? how many players do you think he's going to sign, he already needs i'd say 3 center halfs not to mention a left back and that's not even discussing midfield and forward players. I could handle him as back up, whilst he isnt great he is at least an honest player/pro. Would be nice to think we will buy two LB's and two RB's but I think the latter certainly wont happen whilst Carr remains, Taylor and Ramage have played there and Solano excelled. If we are going for two fullbacks for each side, that means we have money, which also means why bother getting average, buy decent quality or young and hungry for back up.
