Our full backs, man.
-
Mad how we always get a co-comms from the opposition.
-
Hope Liverpool appeal and he gets 10 more games tacked on.
-
Man City win and Szoboslai gets banned. I'll take it. Thought he was going to disallow the goal and give Liverpool a fk.
-
Pull it back for a free kick and send Slobby Sly off imo.
-
Fuck off Slobby Sly you cheeky cunt. Tried hauling Haaland down and complains when Haaland takes him down.
-
Any idea why they're still playing?
-
Haha, fascist cunt.
-
Drury devastated.
-
I possibly should shoulder a bit of blame for Brentford’s equaliser after I started a chant of “1-0 and you still don’t sing” directed towards the middle tier of the Gallowgate seconds before it happened.
-
Any idea how close he wants to get to goal before he pulls the trigger?
-
JD!

Barnes could score a hat trick every game Gordon is out and he’d still be shunted to the right once Gordon is fit.

That's all good, I can take it. The main issue for me this season as while the points difference may not be as great as my statement of "plummeting" suggests, performances for most of the season have been less than convincing. You can (in my opinion) probably count on one hand (definitely two) the number of games where we have played well. Immediate ones that spring to mind are Liverpool (H) Man City (H) Arsenal (H) Everton (A) The Champions League form (especially at home) is a strange one because I believe the likes of Benfica, Bilbao and PSV would be bottom half teams in the Premier League and, while our general intensity levels have dropped, they are still too much for European teams of this standard. The wins against Wolves and Fulham at home were unconvincing and the Leeds game was pure chaos where we were behind 3 times. It's not a stretch to say we're no longer the team that would overpower opponents at home that we did in 22/23 and even 23/24. Even last season up until the Liverpool home game before Christmas we were at a very low ebb which was arrested by incredible form for the remainder of the season (certainly up until Wembley anyway). So, for me, consistency is an issue that has been there for the last season and a half. Whether that's teams adapting to our increasingly rigid style of play or something else is open to opinion but the rarity of formation changes in-game from Howe and the same subs game after game doesn't fill me with confidence that he can arrest the inconsitency in the long term.

The die was more or less cast when Cherki scored in the first leg. I’ve supported us through our three really successful periods now and this time is up there with my youthful joy of the Keegan years when I was only 11 when he came back as manager. No matter what happens in the future in what looks like a key transitional period is ever going to take that away. But that was pretty grim tonight, after 7 minutes Man City didn’t have to leave second gear and by 45 they were in 1st/neutral. Just because I’ve had the euphoria of the cup win of last season doesn’t mean that we can’t be a little worried about how our form has plummeted this season and there being no signs of the course being righted. We lost one of the best strikers in the world last season. He had that X-factor and more importantly we played to his strengths to help him score as much as possible, with defenders being terrified of him. But the business in replacing him is a significant concern with neither striker looking effective in what is still the system we had set up for him. That and the fractured performances of all but one of our wingers has blunted us massively.

Man City taking their foot off the pedal has screwed yours imo. Agree to disagree though, Rod.
-
Commentator talking shite. Man Utd beat them in the FA Cup final.
-
We’ve been pathetic, man. Sorry to burst your bubble. I am in no way liking this. Get a grip.
-
Harvey Barnes LWB now. You can change formation during the game, Eddie.
-
Man City are at walking pace, man.

HE’S SUCH A PERFECTIONIST
