  1. Don’t get it twisted, when we went on that run last season before the World Cup, Bruno was statistically level with Rodri and Declan Rice in his 6 role duties. So all this talk of athleticism, roles etc really do need to be taken with some context here. He played as a 6 last season and for half a season until his ankle injury, was about as class as you can get.
  2. Re: Howe - He’s an incredible manager, one of the best tacticians and students of the game. The evidence is as clear as day since he’s taken over and with that there is legitimate improvement to nearly everyone he’s worked with at our club. I think he’ll right the ship, but, if he doesn’t - he will have to face the reality of the situation and we as fans will have to do the same. I think the entire board are patient, process and data driven and will give him the time or resources to fix what’s needed, and there’s another transfer window opening up in Jan. Remember we have Dan Ashworth as our sporting director, thank god for that too. Some awesome posts last page or so - we’ve been against 4 top football managers and sides. We destroyed 1 at home. Lost by 1 goal to the champions. Lost by 1 goal having done enough to win versus Liverpool and created more than enough to put Brighton out of sight in 15 mins before making costly mistakes to go behind and didn’t have enough to get something. Fine margins as always, we’re on 3 points instead 4,6, or 9. A simple pass, deflection, foot thru the ball on real chances and flash points. We rate Howe. We know what he’s capable of doing. He’ll cook up the plan to fix it, and it’s up to him and our players to execute that.
  3. Exactly, which is 100% why we HAVE to rip the bandaid and play Hall as left back. The balance is so off, and if Burn isn’t solid then he’s not offering much. If Targett isn’t playing the usual 7/10 solid defensively good link-up work we need a proper ball player and that is exactly what Hall is. Hall can tuck in and play the inverted fullback role, he’s got a brilliant left foot and he’s able to drive with the ball. He’s got to get going.
  4. going to guess, that trippier has been staying back a little more because he was up against Grealish, Diaz, and Mitoma. Id argue Trippier did quite well against them all. When we’re playing teams that don’t have top left wingers I assume he’s going to be far more attacking focused like.
  5. I’ll agree with that mate.
  6. I’m sorry, Pope’s error was the catalyst moment that turned the whole thing into what it was. It was the flash point. He created that entire situation. And then when he could have made a save to finally end it he fumbled the ball into ferguson. Tonali should have cleared that ball and closed down better tho. 100% agree with that.
  7. Tonali should do better. Howe will have a word. In front of the team or solo. I’m well aware of that. He could be angry when he delivers that to Sandro. No Im not inferring Sandro is some middle minded child who needs to be held but his closing down was hardly the root of the goal and nor does any adult need to be SHAMED. It’s about teaching, it’s about tailoring the fucking message man. Jesus I can’t even believe we’re having this convo. He’ll learn from today.
  8. But pal, you said shame him. Just don’t see that ever being Eddie’s style nor is that actually productive to most human beings is all.
  9. Hall next match please, Back to Burn or stick Trippier here. Matty is a good lad, grafts his bollocks off but hes bother defensively lights out, good in attack or in possession.
  10. What does “pull” up mean to you? Or “dragged”? Is it a simple hey Sandro, look at this - you need to do better here or is it “hey EVERYONE, Look at this prick’s mistake?” Do you think Eddie Howe is going to tear into Sandro Tonali for missing a clearance and then jogging out to block a shot that got fumbled by our keeper directly into the path of the Brighton striker? Will he tear into Nick Pope for not passing it to trippier short, or booting it out to touch too? Just curious since you work in football.

    Alexander Isak

He’s oddly snatching at his chances when he’s usually so committed to everything he does.
  12. mate do you not think part of the issue is the 3rd midfielder - Joelinton in this case has looked completely off for nearly every single match?
  13. We have some absolute idiots posting these days.

    Joe Willock

I’ve been saying for ages this guy is press resistant and one of our true top players. We’re missing him badly.
  15. bang on for me too. Id be doing that versus Brentford. Gordon and Isak can really rotate a ton with that too. Id play Hall left back with that as well. Need his ability on the ball as a playmaker.
  16. We’re going to be ok.
  17. Shame him ah yes. Please shame the lad.
  18. It was a shit day in the office but clear as day we literally had the chance to go up 1 or 2 nil before they had a sniff. We had another chance before halftime to level. Our GK came out and ignored a simple ball to Trips, booted it out to their player. Scrambled back. Made a good save. Then fumbled a shot to their striker. We made our own problem there. I’m confident in Eddie’s work ethic to fix this over the break and get the system and players right. This tough start is classically fine margin away from being 6-7-9 points and we’re at 3. That’s life. We have 30+ premier league matches, 3 cups to compete it. I’m trusting the man who’s going to spend the next 3 days obsessing over finding the solution.
  19. We also created 3-4 chances that needing put away before Pope’s double error gifted them their first goal. last season when it wasn’t clicking in attack the defense and midfield weren’t making mistakes like they have been the last 2 matches. It’s the fine margins again.
  20. we drew a boat load last season too, the most i think in the league?
  21. What’s annoying is we conceded 3 goals off 3 stupid mistakes.
