You don’t make it all back unless you sell the club and exit. If we sold 10 years with improved facilities (new training ground and expanded stadium) and revenues multiplied over many many years of new commercial deals, a fit for purpose playing and coaching and support staff….the owners are making money. To suggest otherwise is absurd.

Owners haven’t missed. Every deal has served its purpose. It may not have proved out as a starter but it added depth where we needed it. You can’t control injuries. Thus far, not a single deal we’ve done (or risk we’ve taken not doing one) has impacted on the pitch performance. That will probably change going forward but you have to be proud of the sustained, calculated and curated growth.

i have - had; just haven’t really thought about Champions League or other club Euro comps in ages in detail outside of the major sides. I’m all for CL being every champion from Europe and UEFA Cup being something like 2-4 teams of the other European leagues and then I’m down with a conference league style for lower placed etc. super cup could be winner of uefa cup v conference league plays the champions league winner

What site is that from? some of those away kits are pretty decent - what I will say is the Castore away kits have been good designs imo. Our current crop look fantastic. also hope to fuck we never have centered adidas logo and badge again. It drives me crazy.

I think we’d potentially play that a number of ways - 1) you sign a young player that still is developing and comes in situationally, rotates etc. 2) you sign an older one with experience in Europe, who is OK with a limited role 3) you sign an elite DM but realize that means our 8s are Bruno and Sandro and that further pushes Joelinton, Willock, Longstaff, Anderson and Miley to some extent down the order. while all are conceivable I really haven’t a clue how we will do it long term, but I trust the recruitment team so much that I don’t even care what direction they go. Howe always seems to be for evolution and change year over year and Ashworth seems to be very meticulous in his succession planning (by evidence of this summer)

Random, but interesting - Umbro (when they went all "tailored by Umbro") didn't like how some players wore long sleeves and some wore base layers and the kit would look different between those players....so for Man CIty's away kit they did the below. Where they basically made the long sleeve kit look like the same as the base layer kit. Very odd/unique/cool IDK. For us, I'd like long sleeves but would like for the base layer to not look vastly different from someone wearing long sleeves!
