Mount would be an incredible signing to play as an 8 for us. Versatile to play as a winger and 10. He’s a ball player, puts in a shift, set piece taker. You could easily make the case of signing both him and Maddison and incorporate both into the team.
-
Sure helps to be a club with an established, funded Academy. Not one that’s been neglected for about 40 years. Also probably helps nowadays to be in London. No?
-
He's a great player, but just think there's better out there for cheaper with more upside and not injured.
-
I've never seen a more lucky side than Brighton tbh. Always getting penalties, always somehow getting the worst of the "big" sides where top players for those big sides have fucking mares and mistakes galore. Always seem to play one of them when they are complete piss. It's fucking annoying.

I’d play Gordon wide right and get willock into the team over Almiron. I think Willock as a 10 should be tried.
-
We need him to kick on and start scoring goals. Best chance to do that is in the first haf, at home. Let’s go.
-
People forgetting Willock has been a generally good LCM as well? His best spells for us are at LCM - he’s constantly pressing, winning balls all over the pitch and has that ability to drive us forward. His absolute best was when Joelinton played left wing. For next two he’s going to need to work with with Maxi or Gordon. Could be deadly if they can get it going quickly.
-
If we want easing Isak into PL football then play him as a wide forward earlier in games and get him drifting and exploiting space. Surely for Miggy who’s attacking game isn’t working right now. Or Isak in the middle wirh Maxi and Gordon/Murphy wide. Wilson and Miggy need a break.

Just win Sunday and our season can easily turn around quicker than we realize. We literally just cocked up 6 points (3 wins versus 3 draws) v Leeds, West Ham and one of Palace (this is the more likely one given a few chances) or Bournemouth (we were ass here) which in reality we had more than enough chances to get that. A clean sheet Sunday and a proper 2 to 3 goal win with the Stadium bouncing and we’re going to be looking up and back on track. Win at all costs Sunday. It’ll happen.
-
Oddly if we win against wolves I can see us going on a run again
-
We’d do well to get 7th at this point. We are sliding and need results fast.
-
I miss pre World Cup Newcastle. We’re not finishing 4th.
-
The unpredictability of Isak and Maximin are exactly what we need tbh. Almiron and Wilson are the two who need a rest.
-
He looked far better yesterday than he has in a very long time for us.

Pope, Trips, Schar, Botman, Targett, Willock, Bruno, Longie, Maxi, Isak, Gordon

Read this clearly please. Only complete morons would be disrespectful and unappreciative of Howe, the coaching staff, the players work ethic, the players performances, the owners, their decisions in the main, and the support staff grafting their all to make this club what it is right now — one of the most exciting projects in football. But let’s just take a step back and look at what’s happened since the World Cup, we’ve been unable to score goals and win games, and we’ve mostly outplayed the opposition but lacked the final bit of quality in front of net. We’ve had unfortunate injuries and suspensions that have magnified our deficiencies. Nobody is ungrateful to the work the club have done thus far. The anger seems more at the players’ who’ve been making legitimately poor executions of very basic football principles and have let down themselves and or their teammates at critical times. If they want to be part of this long term, they can not make those mistakes. Howe has to make critical changes and come up with a different plan to stop the rut. This rut is finishing, and it’s needing fixing or we will drop out of the top 7 faster than people realize. So again, fucking relax on this ungrateful take a step back, you demand too much, I thought we wanted a team that tries, respect the process long term, FFP is our problem stuff. We all know the project is a long term one and we are all in love with NUFC, and we’re allowed to be critical when the product on the pitch isn’t up to scratch. When the clear answer to FFP is growing income, and when there isn’t a future new deal announced yet (prob due to the new league rules and the new red tape we have to deal with). It’s not like they aren’t trying at all areas of the club, It’s not like we’re not creating chances, or the players aren’t trying - they fight for 90 mins but we are being let down result wise by very critical mistakes at the worst times possible since the World Cup ended. Amanda and co are working their tails off to fix things, but we as fans have every right to hold all at the club to task at every stage. Why? Because for 14 years Ashley fucked us. Because before that every time something good happened we’d fuck it up. And for 60+ years we ain’t won shit. It’s our job and right to hold anyone who works for NUFC to the highest standard while being respectful and dignified in that.
-
And until Silverstone and Eales and co announce new deals to advance us then we’ve got a big fucking problem on our hands. I’m sure they will in a few weeks, or very soon, as the local press has alluded to - and I’lll be ready to congratulate the clubs deal makers in doing so. They inherited shit deals, that much we all know and I get that. But these executives were hired to grow that side of the business. So get it done.
-
To be very clear, we could absolutely spend more money than we did, but the RISK is the lack of commercial deals to offset the spend and keep us “in line” with FFP in the tests that will be performed per due course. Some clubs speculate and spend before the deals are inked banking on the fact they’ll find ways to balance books when needed. We don’t. And that’s fine. Is it the right move? Up for debate. Our squad deficiencies are showing right now and when we decided to spend 40m on a winger, we did so on a long term target. Awesome stuff, but he’s clearly one for the future and it’s not like we spent that on Gakpo or Harvey Barnes. It’s not just about potentially getting to CL anymore, as it stands we’re risking top 7. Get 6 points from the next 2 and it’ll be far more calming but right now we’re not firing in goals. Hell as of the last few matches we aren’t even getting the ball on fucking target.
-
Well our guys better learn to shoot on goal very soon.
-
If we’re not careful and Buck up we’re going to be 8th or 9th very soon.
-
I’m sure he’ll be good in time but he looked completely overwhelmed and very little bravery
-
This place is a bit of a joke at times. Been on here for an eternity and you’re not allowed to criticize anything. Sure we’re not anywhere near these quality wise but we created 3-4 chances and not a single of those was on goal. We need to make changes.
-
And I’ve said this before, I get the FFP stuff. But we’ve a CEO and CMO who are meant to be getting deals lined up to grow us commercially. Haven’t heard fuck all about anything new yet and that’s what’s limiting us. Finance is my line of work too, and so I’ll always be critical of that side if it’s limiting our potential. And I’ll keep doing that until it’s sorted.
-
We didn’t do any speculation, we have apparent deals ready to be announced. Not every top player needs to be a 50m one and there’s clearly needs we didn’t address.
