This is quite an interesting read, this thread. Fwiw at Wembley the Man United fans around me in the mixed zone basically said their fans were shite in comparison to our support. One had a grandad (who passed away) who was a Geordie and he was a bit in tears watching our flags and support.

Not sure any sane human being who’s a Newcastle fan can try and criticize the performance outside of the usual match by match annoyances individually. Big picture these times are a achaging and if you can’t be happy and proud of where we are today and where we are going after all we went through over the MA period then you’ve got some serious leveling out to do internally. we’ve got our club back, people traveled from all over the world to witness potential history and are all leaving MORE in love with NUFC than before. You had some coming into the city and just being around other Newcastle supporters and others going to London to be amongst the mix and others going to the match. We are a global fan base finally rowing in the same direction. It’s absolutely class and there’s not a single club that has what we have - our bond and connection. This stuff will set us apart when we do eventually lift that trophy.

Today was my first competitive toon match in 27 years of fandom. I’m still emotional. I was happy tears before and happy / sad after. My wife got emotional with me because she knew how much today meant to me. NUFC will never ever ever be eclipsed. Guys, I’m telling you as a life long fan from afar - NO CLUB has this support. Nerves are slowly getting in now. As the work week is all but done for me. I’ll be wfh tomorrow so will be thinking about all of this. Still, though, the 8 hour overseas flight and the train to London, then to the hotel, then to the match, all the types of “I hope I get there on time. I hope my ticket works” will add to the general anxiousness of Sunday. Bloody hell!
