Interesting. This past week I’ve been on a dozen work related calls with fellow American folks who watch PL and have lived in England or do significant portion of their work in UK/Europe. they all have a team they follow too and always talk a bunch of shit about us when we do our usual Newcastle things like not keep Rafa or hire Bruce etc. so no bias overall. Just bunch of friends or work friends who give it and take it. They all get the KSA stuff and the obvious moral arguments - but all but one mentioned something similar to “seems so weird of the UK press to always put your club and fans down and beat you down like you don’t deserve anything”
-
Mike being a tough seller is likely saying: OK, it takes up to 4 weeks to get the PL tests completed. You have 5 weeks to get this deal closed, hence mid May exclusivity period.
-
*my deep and dark down fear* the PL take to basically near the end of exclusivity to green light it and it makes it for a frantic Closing. Feel like that happens all the time in transactions that involve approval from a brand/governing body etc. they always seem to take the longest fucking possible time to do anything and drag it out.
-
probably a heavily negotiated deal point between buyer and seller

think we'll be celebrating this time next week.

PL need to hurry the fuck up

I don't think it's unreasonable to have limited compsure when we have the last 13 years worth of experience to go by. If Ashley can push it too far, can negatively influence it, can think he knows better than everyone else then he'll find a way to fuck it. As for all the questions about whether he can kill the deal it. In my experience, the devil will be in the detail of the SPA but my gut feel is that the answer is no (whilst PCP have exclusivity - this is rumoured to end by mid May) my feeling is that after that point there's a strong possibility that all bets will be off re: prior commitments and PCP go back to the wider bidding pool and could be beaten by A.N Other. I suspect therefore that PCP will need to PL Test completed by end of next week at the latest to allow time for the funds to move. If there's no leaks that the PL tests have succeeded by then, then I'd predict more volume from the buying side, more rumours from the selling side about other buyers and a complete clusterfuck. Kanji[/member] - agree? Yep, agree. It becomes very odd situation if exclusivity expires, PL has approved and PCP hasn't completed with the Closing via money wire and signed transfer of club on both ends. My feeling here is we'll be done in a matter of 24-48 hours after PL approval. They need to hurry the fuck up. It's really not on MA or PCP right now.

Swap Schar for Jamaal. Mertens for Borini. Manquillo for Yedlin. Jetro for Rose.

at this point i have 0 doubt in my mind it won't happen, it's just not happening as quickly as I'd like.

Luke Edwards should just tweet less, engaging in discussion on topics and processes that he doesn't understand undoubtedly makes him look very misinformed and foolish.

its just under 120k a week

it's a news article they clearly have no issue being posted on their official website, not just some data aggregator.

Middle East stand. Howling.

Need some twitter Illumanti mad fuckers to find some sneaky reasons why this deal is done or happening or something. Photos from the bushes or something mad. Ala the HBA airport photo.
-
Hopefully the league doesn’t run this all the way to the end of the exclusive period and it basically makes this deal happen at the deadline, which is just an unnecessary level of stalling and stress. My blind hope is that it’s probably been completed, and the partners are finalizing the closing through escrow and attorneys, hopefully by end of business UK time today. May 1 can be significant as it’s also simply a cleaner financial month to close a transaction on first of month for books and records.

is there a way to click all of them?

nowt like some #fridayfoam, i agree.

Holy shit, flashbacks to the dumb (but funny as hell) rumour that Vince McMahon was buying us. https://www.newcastle-online.org/forum/index.php?topic=74071.0 This club

No issue if it’s funding the club’s ambition. That kind of money is a signing, academy scholarships, etc etc etc. If you’re still hell bent on the name of the stadium being more important than the actual point of the club - which is being the best it can be - then you’ve gotta really rethink what football is today in 2020 and beyond and not what it was in 1995. Which look, sadly, that ship has sailed. Respect the history by putting a proper name and honoring it right - use the money to better the institution and be transparent about it.

Can’t wait to smash open a set of #cans like stone cold Steve Austin and toast each of youse virtually for finally ridding ourselves of Mike Ashley and 13 years of absolute pain and indifference. If you hate this takeover because you’re upset about the source of money, fair enough. If you’re unsure, fair enough. If you are excited, fair enough. Just stop having go at each other, we’re all home, jobs or income may be lost, people going crazy waiting for something. Sit back and reflect on what the heck is happening right now. Good or bad. Supporting this club has always been mad as fuck.

Agree 100%. Spikes one collar was class - actually fit really well too. Decided to keep it. The 17/18 home kit was awesome too tbh, and last season's grew on me too tbh. Champo home kit has special memories to me because how much joy i had following Rafa's team.

The rebuttals and tweets themselves are moronic. It literally doesn’t make any sense. Technically it’s as crucial to the business plan, if not more than training ground and X million spend. It’s likely in their budgets and cash flow discussions. It’s how they will plan to attract players, sponsors and corporate partnerships. It’s likely how they convinced each other to bid FFS. It’s just a very lazy comment when they go to the utmost detail to try and explain everything else. Why not just simply say “we have not seen a shortlist; the buyer maintains that Steve Bruce is currently the manager.” Or something like that.
-
Seeing tweets from respected and reputable journalists today where many are saying there isn’t a shortlist of managers to replace Bruce So you’re telling me these lot are working to buy a 300m club, invest hundreds of millions into squad and facilities. Have a detailed plan on some things they’ll do from day 1 etc and they haven’t a shortlist for who they want to lead this club and these new and expensive signings to what is hopefully the top end of the table and europe? In the hundreds and thousands of meetings they’ve had within their partnership there hasn’t been an ounce of “we should get X to manage them”  Sorry journalists. That is where the common and “uninformed” have to stop you; just like their inability to understand transactions or how business actually is done if their sources don’t tell them what’s happening. Sources also tell you what you want to hear sometimes or just a part of the truth.

do people want away fans closer to the pitch? or do they like that away fans who come to our ground are far from the pitch?
