aye my fault man. sorry.
-
Yeah, no doubt about it - Given, Dabizas, Nobby and Speed went on to to be legends for us under Sir Bobby. JDT should have had Sir Les and Big Al nurturing him. Hammann was Gullit though. My main issue is the Rush/Barnes/Pistone idiocy.
-
Did we not play Speed wide left when he first came with competition from Stephen Glass? aye we did, i think that was his natural position before Sir Bob moved him centrally as his legs went. Even so - competition for places would have been nice.
-
If we didn't go unnecessarily selling players it would have been interesting to see a lineup of Ginola, Asprilla, Ferdinand, Lee, Speed, Batty with JDT and Gillespie providing different options / formations. Hell - even having Asprilla/Ferdinand as the main central striker with JDT supporting either of them, you could have had Gillespie and Ginola wide with Lee/Speed/Batty duking it out for the central positions. However, I assume Les/Ginola funded Speed and JDT

Reality is this offer and his valuation is far beyond a market valuation for NUFC. Factor in the lack of football structure, small staff, a stadium long overdue for renovation and upkeep, a dated academy, a dated first team training ground, and a below par football squad. But mike is mike.

Step 1. Takeover happens. Step 2. Celebrate. Step 3. Mass sacking of Bruce, Charnley et al. Step 4. Dream/speculate and let all the rumors get out of hand. Step 5. Have fun supporting NUFC again.

I know this is bollocks, but there is literally not a player around that is set up to be a hero at newcastle than Icardi imo Isn't he a proper arsehole? Nicked Lopez's wife or summit in a shitty way. Inter fans hated him aye? Aye he's a nob, but he's one of them that you'd love if he played for you. He fell out with the inter Ultras iirc but he was completely carrying that Inter side, it was due to something he said in his book. Icardi would have been the perfect Rafa CF too. :-/

Values 1 month ago and plus are no longer applicable anymore. It’s that way across the entire globe in terms of any businesses. 10-40% discounts depending on type of business. It’s correlative to public markets and currency values. But we know big Mike thinks he’s a genius.

If the players decide on their own or as a group to take cuts to support their staff, community, etc. so be it. But the idea they HAVE to take a cut out of morality is a really baseless argument. So many footballers come from nothing, and so many of them are constantly paying it forward without any fanfare around it. Giving more of their income than most do. But since it’s a lot of money they are paid on a gross basis people always point fingers at them. People so quick to point fingers and get upset without a single bit of worldview on things. “Oh, you’re mega rich - go give your money to XYZ because they lost their job. If you don’t you’re a terrible human being.”
-
People who say just because of COVID 19 that nobody will buy anything in Corp M&A have literally no idea what they are talking about. Opportunistic investing has happened forever.
-
Or the “billionaire” owner could sell the club to someone who has far deeper pockets and who has the ability to carry the costs of owning a business like NUFC in good and bad times.
-
Do you subscribe to the athletic?
-
if PIF/Stavely/Reubens buy us = stadium expansion or new ground and new training facilities/academy announced (plans for it) within the first 18 months of ownership. I assume with how much time they've had and the discussions of the potential for all of that within the various groups before they created their partnership that these plans are ready from a conceptual side.
-
does FFP limit spend on stadium improvements, training ground, etc? assume that is a no?
-
this x 1,000,000

Not a single person will give a shit if the new owners came out and said "we thank Steve Bruce for what he has done to date as head coach of this club, but our goal is [qualify for europe and be consistent in the top 5-7 of this league] and for those reasons, we have decided to bring in someone who fits that vision for us etc. it has always and will forever be about communication and expectations. Outline all of that and you will stake your claim.

Is this confirmed though? George didn't confirm it in his article. Also, what does the proper person test involve? "Have you been crucifying atheists?" "Have I been crucifying (voice peters out).................What?" podcast provided such context that was submitted by both sides.
-
So a few other journalists are knocking the story about - and my assumption here is this: George knows that many NUFC supporters trust his word as no-spin, no MA crony, no Bishop ally, etc. - he's George, man from the NE with no agenda. And that's why he's written it, because not only can he confirm that the PL has this paper work from both sides, but he's got it confirmed from his sources, and he's writing this to show that he's not hiding from the story (giving rise that it's all MA spin).

1. If you're suggesting that George Caulkin is being pressured by the Athletic to make up a story or falsify information to get some clicks and reads, then you're really insulting a man who's very much shown the most integrity and respect to us as fans of this club - who has always told it as it is. If you haven't read the article or listened to the podcast where he gives context to all of this, then please do before coming up with that. 2. If you still believe that Kieth Bishop, the warlord mastermind of PR has conjured up a smoke and mirror amidst Covid-19 involving Amanda Staveley, the Reubens, and PIF then you really need your head checked. 3. The NEW information over the past few days is that the PL has been notified a deal is near between PIF and Mike Ashley. This was allegedly submitted LAST week. So between that time and today, we very much could have a signed agreement of sale, a deposit, and the test could very much have started. It has been said many times that once that test begins, it becomes a black box until the outcome. In a situation where "no comment" is the norm for MA and NUFC, there is no promise we will hear anything else until its done or failed.

Keegan was out of management for some time before he came back to us under MA and has been out of football since he left again. There’s literally no reason to put a legend through that. He should either become part of the upstairs fabric of this club again or not be involved in anything official - save for a stand named after him and a statue.
-
Keegan should be in the stands sitting in the Director's box watching on and be a lifetime ambassador of the club. He no longer needs to be working day to day football management - he does not need to live and die on results of this club - he needs to have his feet up and finally welcomed back. Name a fucking stand after him as well. Get a young up and comer like Naggelsmann, our recent legend Rafa, or snag Poch.
