Thanks for the chaos he caused in those matches we won as he came on as a sub. A proper striker in the summer who can offer the physicality and score some goals would be lovely.

I think he doesn't really want to drop deep tbh, his movement for his goals is that of a natural striker. The problem lies in the fact we need a ten to play behind him, and he's not a old up player. It's a shame as personally I think he's the best finisher we have. He's scored some lush goals for us looking back at it. If we signed a physical 10 (Say that King fella from Bournemouth; who I am not advocating) it may make sense for Ayoze to then basically play as the top attack, maybe? But regardless not happening here.

Go read the replies to the Soton team news on twitter for the last 12 months and you may reconsider Scored twice in their last game like. I think its more a case of how bad their management's been, coupled with the fact they don't have a single decent striker. I'd take him here for sure Tadic is a great player IMO

Agree. I know Merino didn't score but that was just great defending. He has the vision, touch, and awareness to play ten. Also could bag goals for us Yep this. Also helps us retain ball far better and play the ball in behind with some accuracy and weight.
