I don’t even care if we build a new one or renovate and expand existing stadium, it’s just there’s been no official communication on where we are with that. id have been more than content if they came out and said “Given Eales medical leave, the Board is waiting on a new CEO to take his role. The Board will consult with the new CEO and by x date we will announce our next steps and plans”
-
We are absolutley right in wanting the key executive leadership positions filled at the club as much as we want some more communication from the club. Hopefully the new CEO will be given the autonomy to make things happen and be an agent of change like Amanda and Mehrdad were previously. If this Hopkinson guy is indeed imminent, I’ll be hugely excited about our future and would venture to say the reason it took this long is they specifically wanted him + he did his homework on the task at hand.

Whether Eddie didn’t want him there, his “injury”, or he said nah not going…. This staff of coaches and his teammates supported him in highs and low, the physios and med team worked him for fucking ages, fans near and far worshiped and loved him and he has all the rights in the world for wanting the wages to reflect his talent but he hung all of us and those lads in Asia out to dry. Thats what I’m really angry about. You can do what’s best for you with some class and respect to those who got you here. Unless there’s some major turn in narrative and actions, this will cut deep for a long time.

Sort of what I’ve been saying for the last 8 hours but ho hum. It’s not unlike a right of first or last offer where if someone hits it there’s no going back. Been done all over the world in institutional real estate and sport contracts for a long time. I wasn’t trying to make up that this isn’t a classic and common move in transactions.

Not helped by our best attacker going off the boil forcing us to focus even more effort on that. Not sure how a handful of people can’t jsut make a handful of bids in one fucking day or two, get feedback, alter bids and keep moving forward. But hey…..
-
The fact of the matter is we likely had everything ready to roll until Mitchell canceled making an official offer so city never had to act last summer. But whatever fuck this window.
-
So while you can go and say har har this journalist is talking shit he doesn’t know anything I can also do the same on this very Trafford matter, the only difference here is any sale involving Trafford had a triggering event that goes to City unless that didn’t exist last summer and nobody has mentioned that in any tweet or report.
-
A deal in principle may have been agreed between Burnley and us and Trafford and us but there was no way it was submitted officially as it would have triggered noise and far more uproar than it did. Again if it was accepted officially it would had to have gone to city. And again, if they said No, it goes back to what I said earlier then lay all the blame and big Paul Mitchell.
-
Where is the here we go? Deal done! City declined their matching clause. Medical happening. Only wanted NUFC! oh no! Newcaslte pull out of the deal tweet?
-
he’s on the plane because he’s in the team and he’s there to help there with his teammmates and do the job he’s paid to do even if he’s in the stands. And if he eventually is sold on this trip he and agent can sort out the flight to the buying club. He also can spend a week with his mates while they hopefully pummel him for taking a strike that materially impacts THE CLUBS success this upcoming season.
-
if the deal was done last year, where is the confirmation the bid was made and accepted? And City declined their matching clause?
-
No it’s simple math logic. And a better understanding than most on how a matching clause works in real life. Trust me bro logic? Yeah ok.
-
I do like that your hate for Andy = mine for Mitchell.
-
Chelsea can pay city style wages! And I’m guessing he was thinking he was the main striker at Chelsea too.
-
If we had an accepted offer last summer. city would have matched, signed him, and loaned him back to Burnley is my best educated guess.
-
i do not believe that for a single second. It’s a convenient dig. Before the CWC we had a cheaper offer that was rejected.
-
The only way we would have had a free run last summer is if that matching clause was only in effect this summer, and if so, then you 100% blame Mitchell for canceling the deal when we had free run to buy him. But it sounds like City had that clause as long as he was at Burnley. And again, City would always have a window to match an accepted offer.
