WIth that sell-on, fuck that. Honestly better off giving him the wage he wants and progressing forward.

The issue isn't about leaving, it's the fact this whole thing seems so cocked up at this point. Delap, JP, Ekitke all went elsewhere - we either decided the fee or wages don't work for us and then weeks on later our main man who is better than all 3 also wants out. It's just shit feeling. And based on the transfer success of the 3 strikers mentioned earlier, how the fuck do we get ourselves in a position to kick on and attack this season? I really thought as season ended we'd have a good summer. Sounded like we were really going to get stadium news. Sounded like we were going to get a CEO announced too. None happened. Mitchell then announces he's leaving. OK fine. Then week over week we are losing out on transfers and the only one time we heard from the club was when Eddie returned and his first or second thing he said was a lot of work being done behind the scenes for not much. Finally, deep down, I don't want fucking 200m. I want Isak here and I want to keep building upon last season.

Getting 39 on my next shirt in honor of our captain.

No not true. Fair market value is applied to every single commercial deal.

Yep I was getting to this point yesterday. It’s all hit more home. For all they’ve done for us they’ve thus far failed the manager, playing and coaching staff, and us the fans this summer. All can change in a matter of days.

Hopkinson is the type of calibre you want as your CEO - the ideal CV across football and major sport.

I am confused still. Newcastle's Board of Directors: Yasir Al-Rumayyan (Chairman)(PIF), Jamie Reuben (RB), Jacobo Solis (PIF), Abdulmajid Ahmed Alhagbani (PIF), and Asmaa Mohammed Rezeeq (PIF), Roger Thornton (RB) The Board hired a search firm with a remit to bring in CEO candidates. The search firm then brings those candidates to the Board (probably a sub committee) who filter and interview and once it widdles down to a final selection, an offer is made and if accepted they are hired. Jamie and Yasir are involved in the process.

He's fucking rapid, love how he picks up a ball and immediately is bombing forward with it.

I don't even know what you're trying to say. In any case, i liked this bit about Wilson. His profile as a sporting director who creates a strong club culture and builds the infrastructure needed to support a manager is also seen as being a good fit for Howe who is hands-on with recruitment and football matters.

I am perfectly fine with a nice, slow build. I am in no hurry here. But football doesn't move that way. We have a first team thats 3-4 players away from doing some serious damage to the top 4 for many years to come. What I am annoyed about, and this is coming from someone who works in a corporate environment in a senior leadership position, is the lack of continuity and communication from the top. Everything is painfully slow and it doesn't have to be. I used to give them the benefit of the doubt on many of these buts now going on way too long. We should have a stadium update and training ground update by now. We should have a CEO and Sporting Director in place (or not for that position) by now. It's not even about who or who we don't recruit either, it's just the general lack of leadership above Eddie Howe that is very stupid. If Eales was sick, put him on leave for a bit and bring in an interim CEO or appoint a PIF or RB exec with that role. It's so crazy simple.

All this to say, I am quite unhappy with the lack of communication, the removal of PCP as asset manager, the length of time taken to replace Eales post diagnosis, and the farce that has been the Mitchell hire and sudden departure. We have no news on stadium, training ground, etc. I lay that firmly on PIF and RB who seem to only be active when the season is in-play. I question the overall plan right now because we haven't heard a single thing. Don't tell us a stadium news is imminent through random talk-ins or press, just come out and say what you're trying to do in a simple release. Tell us you're working on the replacement of the key executive roles and that you will provide an update on X date. Be transparent. The owners (hopefully RB) should be keenly aware how much PTSD we have from Ashley and the lack of communication and the contempt at which he and his cronies treated us. It's a very simple thing to fix. This is why It's been imperative to me we keep Eddie Howe happy at all costs, he's the only one communicating with us and his work on the pitch and whatever moves he's tried to make in the transfer market are currently the only bits of proof we have that we're trying to follow up the best footballing results season in 70 years with ambition to attack 4 competitions to hopefully bring 1 trophy back home.

@oldtype I am sorry bro, but are you forgetting a few key details? We were taken over in October 2021. Oct 2021 - Temp ban on related party sponsorships Nov 2021 - Related Party Transaction Rules were passed by the league Sometime in late 2022 and into 2023 - Stricter enforcement of PSR, rules existed before, but those landmark charges on Forest and Everton changed the landscape None of those were items one could underwrite in DD; particularly the protracted nature of our takeover.

Idk, people would go nuts over the Lookman that was once here in the league!
