How do we know if Carr wasn't part of the problem here ? One thing that has me very concerned is how come we had seemingly only one option once Cabaye was sold, it was Grenier or nowt, surely as the chief scout he should have had a list of targets not just one. Now we have no way of knowing if he did but JFK and MA just refused to move down to the next man on the list. But at the same time we don't have anything to suggest he did. Carr may not be blameless in this whole scenario, so I wouldn't be too fast to make him King just yet. I for one was worried that the great Graham Carr Experiment (as I coined it) had failed and was worried many of those he signed were purely potential and not had what it takes to step their individual games up. I was obviously wrong, but you need to realize we only hear about Cabella or Grenier as those are the 2 that may have been leaked or progressed. For all we know, there could have been 15 targets but these 2 fit the age/price/contract requirement. Graham Carr isn't daft, he obviously knows the situation of players he must work within to fit into our transfer policy. IF those policies were even loosened a bit, I'm sure he'd be telling anyone who'd listen to go and sign a better quality player who'd cost more from a different country.

I'm not a fan of Haidara defensively either, but if we are going to play Anita, Tiote, Sissoko - then AP needs to drill into those 3 that Debuchy and Haidara are going to be push up to create chances and they need to be disciplined in their midfield roles to cover for these full backs.

People not forget Mort was probably the greatest smoke screen Ashley had come up with? He was a nice chap, talked to people, went about town but was still associated with and knew what kind of animal Mike Ashley was? Am I missing something? I thought the bloke was wonderful but can't help but remember he was just like everyone else who worked for Ashley in the boardroom level. Saying that, If Ashley is here to stay - I'm fine with Llambias or Mort coming back - at least with those 2 it seemed like deals were getting done. Llambias seemed a changed man before he resigned as well, that January period and talking about a plan. Could all be lies again of course. Can't believe a single thing anymore. Paranoid Newcastle supporters, us.

I don't rate him offensively either. Doesn't contribute to any assists or goals. I really don't see the point of him. I used to forgive him b/c I thought he was OK defensively with his height and ability in the air and carrying ball forward - but he's weak as piss when he's having one of those low confidence days.

I'll surely be watching this match with a permanent scowl / seething.

Like I said the other day, the thing I can't forgive with this lad for is his jogging back when he's out of position, and for not putting more than a tame foot out to try and block Adam Johnson. I've this feeling he's been awful for ages with this goal line scramble type stuff and generally always loses out. Could just be supremely clouded judgement based on that sorry excuse for defending on Adam Johnson's goal.

So much for getting any work done today

I'd Be OK with that man.

I'd fucking love him here. He'd be perfect here with our crowd and supporters. He'd be an instant legend and he'd create an absolute fortress at St James Park - swaggering about the place while we destroyed people - no defeatist bull shit either, ever.

TBH Nicola Cortese would be the ideal person a normal person with similar tightness like Ashley would want - completely financially responsible (see his quotes about making sure Southampton be a self sufficient club) and bridging gaps by shrewd signings + managerial appointments. Nah, not complicated and not enough turmoil for Big Mike.

This old chap needs to speak out more for us: Brian McNally @McNallyMirror 1m Joe Kinnear's exit is irrelevant when it comes to the big picture at Newcastle. Nothing will change until Mike Ashley sells up. #nufc

How on earth would Pardew have any say in that? I don't know...just doesn't seem likely.

Wut. The. Fuck.

Glad we're a fucking springboard.

Just keep thinking how empty and soul less this entire club is now. I picture empty hallways at SJP and it's just not the club we all know anymore. The last week of the window sealed it.
-
Shame b/c the way De Jong plays he seemed actually a good partner for Cisse. Disgusting once again by those who continue to make a mockery of our once proud club.
-
People officially turned on him after a day everybody was shit? Same guy who had some gut busting performances that have led to some key assists/goals that have gotten us crucial points?
-
If Ashley came out and said "We've decided to use the Cabaye money to pay Alan's compensation" I'd be throughly happy with that usage.

One of things I read and feel sick to my stomach about. Something completely wrong about 1 single man being able to destroy a club that's existed for many lifetimes....
-
Agreed, and I was vehemently against FS. I have to think FS is constantly trying to figure a way back into the club via another group where he stays behind. A FFS return would be some WWE epic man. Vince McMahon style. He'd be lapping up the savior card and go and sign Toni Kroos and Marco Reus or something

People still spouting about the doing the Leeds under Shepherd only need to look at the source of that rumor and should probably end that rumor or at least reconsider their position. I'd take Freddie Shepherd over this fucking prick any day of the fucking week. I'd rejoice man. Shepherd's ego and bad decisions were shocking, but in no way was he as cretinous as Mike Ashley and his cronies.

I've actually no problem with Cheik, I appreciate his sentiments to be honest. For some fucking reason.

I actually feel for the players who thrive on certain systems who've had careers derailed by the fraud that is Alan Pardew.
